This was my whole point about their unfair business practices. After WAY TOO MUCH TIME going back and forth, it took you mentioning the BBB for them to bring up the $100. You are also right about the "thinking outside the box" feedback lol.

Also thank you regarding my family. The entire town is basically gone. Everyone is in shock, the entire infrastructure is gone, so even with policymakers trying to remove red tape and other permitting, it will probably take a decade before anyone could live there.

Thankfully they have insurance, but the area will just never be the same. The area was developed in the 20's 30's, so the charm just can never be replaced. The only reason I thought it was odd FP had no sympathy over this situation is because they are headquartered in Southern California, and I'm sure a large client base in West LA.

Let's just say I'm not recommending them to anyone who needs to replace their Birkins
We’ve been watching the coverage, especially the first several days, and the extent of the damage is heartbreaking. As a Canadian west coaster California has always held a special spot in my heart. It used to be a tradition back in the day for late teens/ early 20 year olds to load up a truck with their friends and head to California. :hugs:

Awe, what a cool tradition! The community has come together in a really strong way which has been really amazing.

Lots of international support too!

I did accept it because I just want it to stop at this point. But that doesn’t mean I won’t go forward with BBB. The settlement was with UPS, not FP. I can file it as a complaint at the very least.
JMO, @muchstuff you accepted the payout from UPS & FP likely will close this case.
Perhaps if you didn't accept the payout, you may have had more ground to stand on in
a manner of speaking but the door has likely closed.
Sharing the experience with BBB is your call. BBB will likely do their own investigation
in this matter to substantiate your complaint & if that will give you some form of satisfaction,
then go for it.
Whether the $875 is a drop in the bucket to Fashionphile or not, whether they consider you
a loyal customer or not, what they could have done or should have done, all businesses
play by their rule book. The rules weren't followed & again, that is disappointing.
This was an oversight & partly due to misinformation, FP should see this as an honest
mistake but no good will was offered to @muchstuff
The company seems to be going through a management revamp, so perhaps things will
get better down the road & your experience will help.
Many might not want to have future dealing with FP & many will because of their past experiences,
FP should really make their consignor shipping policy clearer so consignors can ask for additional
insurance if so needed.

@discreetlux, the whole country if not the world has been following the fires.
We are all overwhelmed with how we can help.
Go fund me pages have been set up, celebrities have pledged several million dollars
to get things rolling, donation boxes are overflowing with clothes, essentials, food, water
Jay Leno is even cooking & serving. Jose Andres is out with his food crew
Our hearts are with everyone that has been affected by this all.
My friend who works at NM in BH just went back to work because the store was closed.
She's overwhelmed because she's not sure if the winds are heading in her direction/neighborhood
People are helping others, networking etc..

The only reason I brought this up to Fashionphile was that they wanted repayment ASAP, and this happened the day my parents lost their home. I thought that a company based in Southern California would have some compassion for the situation and be like "hey, no worries, we appreciate that you reported this error in our system, pay us back next week." Instead they were threatening action on my account if I didn't pay them back by the end of that day.

This wasn't a "poor me" about the fires post. It was how FP could have cared less that I helped them with a glitch in their system.

And yes, there were some Chanel boutiques in West LA that actually made their employees come into work when the air was toxic. Very sad how some of these companies treat their employees as well. Not to go off topic from the FP thread.

I'm so so sorry to hear your parents lost their home, how devastating! Many hugs!

It is a sad state of affairs when businesses don't show compassion or at least extend a courtesy
in the form of time during a crisis. The fire is a crisis & the country & the world are watching
& trying to help the best way they can.
I'm sorry that your parents lost their home & hope they will get the support that they need in
rebuilding if that is their decision.
We are all hearing comments about FEMA, etc.
Yesterday heard that banks are extending 90 days on mortgage payments but the
interest will accrue. The banks had their best 4th quarter in 2024. It's not pleasant facing
the challenges that are ahead for many especially feeling financial pressure
The recourse that many will have that have read these posts is to decide not to shop with Fashionphile
because of their business practices. That is their call & we all know, many have had good
success stories with FP. So we all have a choice, good, bad or indifferent..
Yes, it is very sad that many stores are making their employees come into work. So lack of compassion
across the board

That's a long drive! Did they ever stop in Washington or Oregon or even Northern California? Was it the beach that attracted them?

Pretty much a drive straight through until you hit northern California. Then we would stop here and there, always staying close to the coast, hitting the wineries, camping wherever we could. Finally a run to Tijuana.
