The newer bags, however, have those newer, fancier leathers - so there's more justification for the higher price in those cases. (Depending on your view on what is ever justifiable when it comes to pricey handbags!)

I am sad that I will not be buying as many Mulberries, but I can see the logic even though I don't much like it!

My grainy print bags are special but expensive at £895 for a bays. I stretched and got it with the 10% discount.
Now it is £1195 for the same bag. Nothing has changed really. The new soft grainy isn't more special than the one I bought. It is greed pure and simple. I know businesses need to make profits but this strategy is damaging that and their shares so they will need to hope it works out in the long run. I could have seen them ascending upwards just a little bit slower but this is too quick.

Maybe we have to start thinking of it like we all got a good deal because they'd underpriced the bags originally, LOL! It'll be interesting to see how it all pans out.

Wholeheartedly agree. The success was based on a very solid sales base in the UK. That is eroding rapidly with price hikes on the core items. Also, the Chinese and Indian markets are in decline. Hard to see where growth will come from. A couple more profit warnings and Yer Man from Hermes will be down la rue.

Going to pick up a few bits in the sales, then start my vintage collection, I think. I was jonesing for a Bays Tote but I've just seen they're going up to £895 as well. So, I'm out*

Hehe. I like your disclaimer. I will never say never but something will have to be really special for me to part with my money.
I feel as though Emma Hill has been pushed out similar to the coup with Roger Saul although she was instrumental in their success.
Interested to see who replaces Emma but I look forward to her final season.

I have ordered a Bayswater from Selfridges at the weekend and still have not received any confirmation yet. I tried to call them but they never answer, every time I have to listen to their commercial via automatic machine. Consider I call from Sweden, it cost me a lot. I also sent them 3 emails but no reply yet. I check my bank, money has been blocked.

Now I am getting very worry. Do you ladies here have any advice for me? what should I do?
