I love this topcoat, but does anyone have a problem with their nailpolish peeling off? After a few days, I find the nailpolish peeling off in one large piece.

I had this problem all the time. You know what worked for me? Make sure your nails are clean and use Essie's Base coat. It's called something like "First Base Coat" or something like that. The liquid is light blue but goes on clear. It dries super fast. Hope this helps!!!

I have not read the whole thread so not sure if it has been said but if you read the back of the bottle you'll see that this stuff is dangerous. It has an ingredient known to cause birth defects and reproductive issues.

This bothered me initially, but this blogger does a good job explaining the warning. The state of California has different rules about warnings. Even the jet ways have signs saying fumes can cause birth defects. Basically, unless you drink the stuff, you'll be ok. Hope this helps!

My experience with SV has always been one thing only.......SHRINKAGE. It shrinks my base color something horrible. The smell is very bad too, worse ever. They all smell somewhat but this one is enough to make me feel faint. Love the gloss and the way it seems to correct any mistakes you have, but the shrinking is so frustrating after spending an hour on a manicure.

Someone said if you have short nails shrinkage is hard to overcome. People with long nails will paint all the way up the nail including around the tip a little. Does that make sense? This way it kind of seals it and when it shrinks it doesn't effect the color that much.

I love Seche. It does shrink my jellies way too much, so I use NYC Grand Central Station for jellies. But nothing I've tried compares to the shine and dry time of Seche Vite. What I do is after cleanup, be sure to cover the clean part of the nail, so I go just above the polish but still below the cuticle, and all along the sides. It does get thick and gooey about halfway through. Regular thinner only gave my bottle bubbles. I have yet to try Seche Restore.

I had the peeling problem with SV, but then again I had peeling from pretty much any top coat for a while.

My base coat was to blame. Also, filing my nails a bit to smooth out any ridges helped.

I never had the shrinkage problem with Seche - different UK vs US formula?

If you like the gloss, perhaps you should try the Jessica Brillance top coat - I absolutely loved that and would definitely compare it to Seche, minus the smell. It's even got UV protection, though not sure how much that really matters.

Thank you so much. May look in that one.

I'm very surprised to read so many unhappy girls with SV...
My life is not the same after I found out this top coat. It dries super fast, it's super shiny and my mani lasts a lot more with this than any other top coat I've ever used.
I used Orly top 2 bottom as base coat and it was great but suddenly my mani started to peel super fast even with SV, I am using Chanel's base coat now and it lasts a lot more again. Anyone use Orly's? I don't know what could happen.

I can't paint my nails w/o SV. It dries fast, self levels and looks glossy enough that people think I'm wearing gel nails. Yes, the shrinkage is extremely annoying but I find two techniques to help: 1) wrap the tips to prevent shrinkage at the tips and 2) paint the SV beyond the colored polish but just before the cuticle/sidewalls to prevent shrinkage there.
Also, don't reapply this to a dried manicure - all fast drying topcoats can cause pulling/peeling at the edges.
I thin it with 4-5 drops of the Beauty secrets thinner after each time I use it and haven't seen any problems yet. The big issue to me is the smell - it's awful and takes about a day to dissippate off my nails.
