My approach is to let the scarf rest overnight hung to air out, then put folded into "upright" position in built-in closet drawers separated by dividers. The drawers have cedar balls/sachets strewn throughout (in between and on top too). I have been doing a version of this method for 8+ years and have not had a single issue.

My current drawer setup also keeps me from over-collecting (I have limited myself to 8 compartments). Fortunately my H faves (moussies) take up almost zero space!

This reminds me that I never posted my old storage system using the envelopes and boards, hanging file folders letter size for 90cm and smaller formats and legal size for 140cm, H boxes - I think the ones for Picotin 26 which by a stroke of luck I found fitted letter size hanging files, and assorted file boxes fitted with legal size hanging folders. Viola:

The boxes went on open shelving.
When I moved, I had the opportunity to remodel all the closets in my new home. So I graduated from the “file” system to this:

But the file system is still good for overruns!
My fiance and I are living in SF and a closet like is definitely on my wish list when it is time for a home. Thank you for sharing.
May I ask if there is anything you wish you changed/improved? I hope to upgrade from stacked boxes in guest room now turned office/closet into an official closet. I labeled my boxes yesterday, and now I NEED this type of organization in my life.

Another archival quality idea, but silicone drying packets in closed orange boxes, here I go advertising amazon again lol
Or, you can save up the little packets that seem to be in everything

Ps when I first heard of this, was shocked, but did my archival research and it is done my museums
Interesting, is moisture a common problem? Or is it to regulate the humidity?
I am definitely learning much about properly storing scarves:flowers:

Hi there, i would have done faceless (no hardware) drawer fronts with a dip for pulling out. Like in the stores! its a cleaner look aesthetically esp if you go with a textured wood look and avoids the rivets on the inside of the drawers.

I am in the midst of a reno to create a walk-in closet. Wish I had seen your great advice when I was in the design stage - not only does it save $$$ on the drawer hardware but eliminating the rivets (even if they're sunk) would have eliminated any possibility of snags on any garments - not just silks (& I am also doing a wood look). Actually my silks are going in specially designed cubbies in their boxes.....DH says the purpose of the whole closet re-design was to hold my orange boxes....LOL

This sounds really interesting. I can’t wait to see the finished product!:flowers:

I love this idea! Now I wish I had more twillys:lol:

momoc also showed how she stores scarf rings between dividers too (go to Ode to Twilly) - see how I'm keeping you (and me) on the straight and narrow ;)

Sharing my cheap but works storage solution for Twillys also in this thread (first posted in the Ode to Twilly thread). Almost perfect fit (basically the compartment sizes should be slightly larger than 2 inches) and found on Amazon here!

As my twilly collection grows, I am in need of a new organizer to store my new twillies. I really love the one I have now (please see the picture below), which is a pull-out drawer divided into 12 compartments. It was purchased from the Container Store several years ago, but alas they discontinued it......what a shame!

I am wondering if anyone has seen something like this in any other stores? Or if anyone has any better recommendations for an organizer?

I found a plastic box with cover in the office supply section of The Container Store which I find very useful for storing twillys. It only costs around $10.00. Dimensions 143/8 x 141/8 x 31/8 inches. I like to keep twillys in the round boxes with the store tag on the bottom to keep track of View attachment 4586994 View attachment 4586996 View attachment 4586997 the names. This box can hold up to 34 twillys. It is just tall enough to hold the twilly box with the cap on the bottom. The cover keeps the moths out.

Quoting @Amka and @art nouveau posts to be shared here.

Yes, it is. That reminds me that Muji sells something similar:
Acrylic Stand with Partition

Stackable Acrylic Box Partition (12x12x3.2cm):

They even have container similar to twilly box:
Acrylic Small Item Container (9.0x9.7cm)

I really like the last one! I may have to get one...or two.:pI have 6 twillys. I may not need organization just yet:laugh:But maybe I could use it for my scarf rings!:idea:Thank you!:flowers:
