I have been too busy at work dears. Here are my tansu shelves of silks and how easy it is to organize and view as well as remove the trays for folding and arranging!

lanit, you have a gorgeous collection and this is such a perfect way to store them! I'll be right over to borrow your Literature mousseline and Reve de Gloria mousseline! I imagine this storage solution makes deciding what to wear, and what to add to your collection, so much easier. Just great to be able to see everything at once. Thanks so much for sharing!

Etoile, thank you, and yes, it makes for choices so much easier instead of roosting through piles of boxes. It sure has made a difference in choosing a new silk too!

Oh. My. Goodness. This is such a glorious sight lanit! Being able to see them all so easily must make choosing a silk for the day a breeze. I'm still searching for the right storage solution having outgrown the current design.

Hi Essie, I keep the empty boxes in the closet on top shelves and rarely access them but keep them in case I do release them now and then, I have to rotate the silks, the vintage ones sometimes remain in their boxes if I feel they need to be stored for a bit due to season. Especially the holiday and cashmere silks.

Hi sweets, you should look into these. They are more affordable than having custom cabinets made!

Looking at your scarf/shawlcollection Ianit is just like visiting my nearest H store. I would gladly shop my first moussie and I confess I fell in love with your tansu when you posted the first pics. Great collection and love love the beauty and practicality of the tansu [emoji173]️

essiesub ~ I am sorry for my late reply. Right now I only have 3 H scarf/shawl so I kept them in H boxes. However I custom built drawers and various sizes of cubes for different storage purposes. I use some cubes for storing my cashmere scarves and two drawers for fur and silk scarves. Sorry for the large pix.

Tokamaka I admire your discipline! Do you keep the boxes? Would you post a picture of your scarf cubes, please?

I only have 4 hermes 90cm scarves . i store them in their respective boxes and label them as shown and kept them in my wardrobe. i store my hermes bags in the boxes too with dustbag, but I kept the lid open for my bags.

* Ignore the pic of caretags as I was curious why the care tags are different. But now I know!

Bumping. I've read the entire thread from page one, thanks everyone for the terrific suggestions and photos. Is anyone still here who used the acid-free envelope storage system on page 1 from 2007. How is it working and do you have any tweaks or changes to your storage system? Any new storage ideas?

Here's a photo from my IG. Instead of storing them in baskets I store my 70s and 90s in a Rimowa sport. Great size and it's a bonus that I can zip it up. Moths are spotted often here.





I also have an excel file for my scarves. Though it does little stopping me from buying new ones......

This is the one I use. I also use stiffeners in the envelopes so the scarves will keep the shape for me to see the designs better and I label the names of the designs on the envelopes too. Imagine when hubby walked in and saw me buried myself in scarves, envelopes and label machine....
