Notice the luckenbooth brooches of double hearts in the lower left, Croisette7. It's a Scottish love token and when the heart is curved inward on the bottom, it's a form called a Witch's heart. I found an interesting site for those who want to find out more:
http://www.jewelrynerd.org/1/post/2...-how-didit-influence-heart-jewelry-today.html

Or just google What is a witch's heart and how did it influence heart jewelry today.

Thanks for this link, eagle -- I love learning details like this!:tup:

Thanks purplepoodles. They are hard to find. My dream piece would be an old agate bracelet with padlock......one day!! :D

About 20 years ago in an antique show in Washington D.C. (or it might have been Baltimore), those bracelets were $5,000. They were beautiful. It's hard to find dealers these days that carry Scottish Agate. There was one in Georgetown (DC) but she retired a long time ago. She had the most wonderful display of Victorian jewelry. I love looking at that stuff.

Silver lockets are nice, too.

Would love a Scottish themed scarf - am lucky enough to have visited lots of Scottish beaches - the Orkneys, Shetland and the Outer Hebrides, and some of them were all quiet and completely un-windy if such a word exists, but a Hermes scarf would have been quite out of its cultural environment - it was all pure nature
Ahh! love windswept beaches. Are you a sailor? This is where Hermes cashmere long scarves come as they are make by a Scottish company as were and maybe still are a lot of their knits. But not the best if you were sailing of course.

Haven't seen you for a while. Perhaps a meet before I go back 'up'?

Lovely Katherine, Springs is such a great scarf, full of bold shapes and a traditional subject

It's great to find a scarf that pulls in all the colors in your wardrobe

Thank you both so much!

Thank you MaiTai! I love love love your scarf, the colors are so happy!

Your collection is amazing. I've always admired Les Normands for its theme. If you or eliwon have an action shot, I'd love to see how it ties. The design in rather large, isn't it?

ABQ2ATL, thank you so much for your great intro. I will post some of my huge
Ledoux collex later this week. But just following the conversation between
the "Mc's" and Scots I would like to show my Fleurs d'Ecosses flat and worn
with plissé. The designer is Sylvia Kerr.

I regret that I didn't buy this design. I learned more about S. Kerr with Parade de Leonhardi. She is a cool artist. Hopefully, she'll design more scarves in the future. This carré is stunning on you, dear Croisette.
