I went through many stages of organisation:
1) orange boxes, one scarf in a box
2) take of the lids, turn over, rotate 45 degree, one scarf in box, one in lid (second hand scarves came without boxes, I wanted to see my treasures)
3) too much fuss to get to the lower ones, so I put them all in one clear plastic container
4) too much digging, got some IKEA Tjena boxes, modded them. Quite happy for some time. But I never knew which box contained which scarves. Decided to make labels or stick tiny scarf photos on the outside.
5) Found boxes with neat drawers. I really like those. I feel like a kid playing "store". I have one drawer for "nautic and sea", one for "nature", one for "graphic", one for "fun size" (twillies, maxi twillies, gavroche), one for MaiTai stuff and so on... The 140s still live in a bigger box.
I still want to make labels, time to do so will come. I already got"post it glue", because I like to reorganize:graucho:

Spreadsheet: with pics, artist, stories and H-number/color code if available. Want to add season, will not add price, I prefer not to know.

I love to see pictures of collections. Your's is TDF! You have very good taste and a well balanced collection.
We are twins/sisters/cousins on 12 (?) of them, I spot some I wish I had. I think I can name maybe a bit more than half.
We should make a thread "Here is my collection, how many can you name?" with pictures like this one. Or with numbered scarf mummies (TangoTosca, where are you?)

That hits very close to home! Sometimes I doubt my own sanity; whenever I think "That must do" there are more that tease me. I should stay away from this forum. (Not gonna happen:cool:). The problem is: The more I have the less 'neck time' for each...

Thank you. So I thought about the less neck time issue. When I only had a few they were worn so often that they were starting to look well... Worn. So having more in your collection means more rotation and all of your scarves stay new looking. Same with bags. Don't you agree? [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]

Wow that's fabulous HoneyLocks! And Amen to the "neck time" comment. I want to wear these babies! That's my biggest fear really. But obviously others manage it, and I don't see myself stopping!

Well here it is, the whole megilla. As you can see, I'm running out of space! [emoji15]

:roflmfao: I love the way you think. Have to tell the man :graucho:.

But to be serious: I like the "worn" feel. Some of my preloved ones like the "Lumieres de Paris" were very well loved but oh so soft. My Zenobie starts to be like that and I like it. Very cozy.

Love how the colors of the boxes and the shelf coordinate. What was first?;)
I cannot spot labels, how can you tell which box to reach for?

You mean the nightstand? [emoji23]. Oh that was WAY first. I hadn't thought of it; you're right!!

The labels are on the side. Easy peasy.

The light stack is on left, the dark on right. Gavroches that came with boxes, and 70s. Takes 2 seconds to find what I want. Some readjusting of anal-y placed boxes is required, yes. [emoji23]

That's hilarious because I'm the opposite with paperwork. Throw it in a box and hope for the best! Tax time is all kinds of fun. [emoji15]

Psssst, don't tell: I have a Carolina Herrera 140, and a Versace mousseline stole that I adore. And an Etro and a couple of Pucci's. And a Missoni..... No one needs to know. [emoji55]

I could truly just stare at this all day. Sigh...[emoji7]
Haha! i am terrible with my bills paperwork too!

Here's my organization system. I'm just shy of the 100 mark- counting twillies and gavroches. [emoji15]

I keep a spreadsheet as others do and I keep mine in these felt lined trays from the container store. I have to be able to see mine. And I spend more time than I'd like to admit admiring them.

This is a bit old. I'm constantly reorganizing. But left side top to bottom: misc colors, neutrals, 140 silks, gavroches and twillies. Right side: Colvert, blue, maxi twillies, 70s. Csgm and moussies stay on their boxes.

Oh and I stack 3 trays per shelf so I have one tray that is empty and reserved for future growth. I keep it empty just to prove that I'm not completely out of control.![emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]

What a great collection 😍😍😍

Thanks for the name explanation, xincinsin! I love that SIN is an airport code -- mine is two airports: ABQ (Albuquerque) 2 (to) ATL (Atlanta), reflecting the places I've lived the longest plus frequent trips back and forth. (it's fine to call me abq2atl or just abq, by the way -- it's a bother to type all those caps)

Glad you like Serenite -- I got mine for a good price on the Bay and it came with a note that said it had been a never-worn gift from a dear friend who had since died. I'm so glad the original owner came to terms with re-homing a scarf that deserves to be worn and admired! Here's another shot to show that it's got butterflies, too.

Funny, I thought it was probably Abiquiu (Georgia O'Keefe's house) and then Atlanta...

Beautiful collection!
Where did you find the drawer boxes, if I may ask?

delicious!!!

hmm, on closer examination, I have pretty much maxed-out on my current storage method. so I need to:
1. stop buying scarves (hmm, not sure about that!)
2. free up some scarves (I have maybe 1 I am willing to free up)
3. figure out the next phase.

at any rate, here is my main scarf drawer:
1. most of scarves on the right, in a box lined with acid-free tissue, plus one tissue on top to keep out dust.
2. under the tissue- the scarves. I am pretty much maxed-out now.
3. left side, maxi-twilly(2) in boxes, 1 twilly in box, latest 90 scarf(s), not yet worn in original box. Not shown, but under the 90 box I have my 4 70s in 2 70 boxes.
also some non-H scarves just rolled up at rear of drawer.
As I said earlier, mousselines(6) and CSGM(2) and Xmas scarves(2) are stored in boxes in my closet.
