Thanks! Looks great on you! Is the border navy or black?
Yikes!
Yikes! What a beautiful CW. Cousins! I have the Orange dip dye.
Twins with you on the ex-librarian part. I specialized in audio-visual archiving, so I guess my cataloguing should include photos, action shots and sound-bites (the likes of "OMG! You paid how much for that?", courtesy of my very flappable boss - just need to sneak in a mini-cam and mic)As a former librarian, my head was all over the place thinking of ways to record my scarf purchases. I don't think classifying them by Dewey would work! So, I thought about Excel etc., but decided that I would prefer to use Evernote. This synchs across my laptop, PC, iPad and phone, so I can see what I have when I am out shopping (if I ever get out of bed to go shopping, that is). My collection is only small and won't get much bigger (10 90s and 1 gavroche so far), but even so, it is easy to miss something.
I also use Evernote to plan and list my clothes and other accessories. As I retired a couple of years ago, I needed to change my wardrobe to suit my new lifestyle, so I have been following the Vivienne Files blog and streamlining my colours. Using Evernote like this enables me to see where the gaps are and to plan for new purchases where necessary, although I am trying not to buy new clothes very often as I really don't need more.
Anyway, I list my scarves with the following headings and also put a picture of the scarf onto Evernote to remind me...

As for storage, I have a real dilemma as our house is very small and I don't have much space. We also have real problems with moths..... Eek! So, at the moment, my scarves are in their original boxes and I have no plans to do anything else yet.
Here's my organization system. I'm just shy of the 100 mark- counting twillies and gavroches. [emoji15]
I keep a spreadsheet as others do and I keep mine in these felt lined trays from the container store. I have to be able to see mine. And I spend more time than I'd like to admit admiring them.
This is a bit old. I'm constantly reorganizing. But left side top to bottom: misc colors, neutrals, 140 silks, gavroches and twillies. Right side: Colvert, blue, maxi twillies, 70s. Csgm and moussies stay on their boxes.
Oh and I stack 3 trays per shelf so I have one tray that is empty and reserved for future growth. I keep it empty just to prove that I'm not completely out of control.![emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]

That's hilarious because I'm the opposite with paperwork. Throw it in a box and hope for the best! Tax time is all kinds of fun. [emoji15]
Psssst, don't tell: I have a Carolina Herrera 140, and a Versace mousseline stole that I adore. And an Etro and a couple of Pucci's. And a Missoni..... No one needs to know. [emoji55]
I could truly just stare at this all day. Sigh...[emoji7]
hmm, on closer examination, I have pretty much maxed-out on my current storage method. so I need to:
1. stop buying scarves (hmm, not sure about that!)
2. free up some scarves (I have maybe 1 I am willing to free up)
3. figure out the next phase.
at any rate, here is my main scarf drawer:
1. most of scarves on the right, in a box lined with acid-free tissue, plus one tissue on top to keep out dust.
2. under the tissue- the scarves. I am pretty much maxed-out now.
3. left side, maxi-twilly(2) in boxes, 1 twilly in box, latest 90 scarf(s), not yet worn in original box. Not shown, but under the 90 box I have my 4 70s in 2 70 boxes.
also some non-H scarves just rolled up at rear of drawer.
As I said earlier, mousselines(6) and CSGM(2) and Xmas scarves(2) are stored in boxes in my closet.
Thank you. This picture also needs to be updated. I need to get up on a ladder and add a bunch more. But you get the idea.
Is there a 12 step program for this?

OF COURSE you have a whole tray just for Colvert!! And I actually think you may possibly have more scarves than "our" boutique has in stock! haha
Your secret is safe with us dear. Shhhhh but I have a few Versaces too [including a large cotton 'bandana' with a huge picture of Donatella's face on it!] and a vintage Dior gavroche that my mother handed me down.
I just know you casually put Ms QM2 right there on top for me! HAHA
I think I just died a little. Your closet is amazing my dear!! And I love how even your wallpaper is "jacquard" like an H scarf!
Gorgeous Aloha!!

A friendly reminder ... there are several very informative threads on scarf storage and organization, but this thread has derailed with pages of discussion on how people manage their scarf collections.
It would be appreciated if it could go back to the scarf of the day show and tell now. For anyone who has forgotten, this is the schedule for February, thanks to sparklelisab:
