Holsby Love that imagerie. Another new one for me. I like all the little vignettes. Do you know the story behind this scarf?
essiedub, yes the small pictures are all very sweet! I am thinking of the design as a children's picture book from older times. The only things that I know about this scarf is that it was issued AW 1998 (Year of The Tree) and what was printed in the AW 1998 booklet:

Love the alphabet scarvesl I had a Timberland Tee in a similar theme although the animal choices were rather pretentious (B for Bongo, N for Narwhal). Had to explain to toddler-age DS1 and DS2 that the 2 Dodos positioned criss-cross referred to eXtinct

I really love the O! So cute!

Oh, these are so neat. I've always liked this scarf flat, but struggled with how to tie it. I did know that the letters were made up of fauna, i just never knew how well rendered they are! Very nice HermesNuttyynut

This is an incredible scarf!
The "O" bird might be a puffin rather than a penguin. The two "F" birds are perhaps falcons, and might the "R" bird be a raven?

I love this scarf! (Don't have one)

xincinsin, litchi, essiedub, Elaine, and momasaurus, Thank you for your kind words!! :flowers: It's my only alphabet scarf, and I couldn't resist the cute animals!! Florence Manlik has quite an imagination!!

And, Thank you everyone for the LIKES!! :flowers:

What a party this week is with all different birds and interesting and beautiful scarves! Thank you everyone for wonderful contributions! The theme weeks are like art exhibitions and also like a Hermès university. There is always something to enjoy and to learn.

I found only one rooster among my scarves, but many birds! So I'm posting some birds as well.

Awesome, Holsby! Your rare Imagerie is so pretty. I was hoping someone would post Libres Comme l'Air. Mine is black and gold en finesse, so the birds don't look particularly festive. Great pix here!

I went birdwatching this evening :graucho: and found two more birds in archival photos.
There are birds (cranes, perhaps?) in the center of Daimyo...

... and of course there is the big honking crane in Ex Libris en Kimono:

... but the darned crane only shows if the scarf is tied EXACTLY right. This photo is from 2+ years ago, and I've never been able to replicate the look!

Would love a Daimyo because of the ginko leaves, but a) they are so close to the centre of the scarf so I wouldn't be able to tie it so they'd show, and b) I haven't found a CW which would treat me kindly - you look great in yours :-)
