22 Jan 2017 MY FAVORITE SCARF ARTIST: show and tell us who and why you love him/her!
This week show us your favorite ARTIST
Who designs your scarves that look the smartest.
Carrés that make you smile inside
Whichever silly way they’re tied.
Have you seen a scarf and said “Oh wow --
I have to have that scarf right now”?
Love at first sight is sweeter when
You spot your favorite’s name again.
So off to your collection go
And choose the ones you want to show.
Favorite artists are so much fun
That you may have even more than one!
I’ve said it before and I haven’t changed – I think I’ll always be an Annie Faivre fan. My first scarf was one of hers and three of the last four I bought were too! Even when I don’t know the artist, when there’s something about a scarf that pleases me, it’s very likely to be one of Annie's. (Of course I have other favorites too, but I’m starting the week with Annie.)
I love the detail in her work – they almost look like doodles. There’s a very geometric flavor to them that I find extremely satisfying. I wonder if they remind me of books I had when I was a child? I wish I could draw like that! I think you could make one of those adult coloring books out of any of her designs. Look at these examples:
The animal parade on the border of
Le Jardin de la Maharani (with the monkey leading the horse) as well as the linework in the paisleys:

Jardins d'Hiver -- look at the subtle shadows on the floor of the gazebo:

Voyage en Etoffes -- I love all the shades of blue to green in this one, and how the texture of the materials are shown
