LOVING these! Especially your CenC! (I have this in a jersey version that I will have to pull out!) Your Tyger shawl still slays me! I remember when you bought this gorgeous piece! You should wear this every single day! LOVE!!!!!!

I used to shy away from yellow: too bright, too attention-seeking in large formats, and it made my complexion look jaundiced. So my secret vice was to buy the pretty ones in small formats - more wallet-friendly for a scarf I might or might not wear. But like our dear scarf mistress, I've been edging closer to the sunshine. In my case, after the cream and lemon drops, I kinda leapt past true yellow and recently acquired a couple of personal grails in gold which are still navigating the mail system to me. Meanwhile, here are the little cobblestones in my yellow brick road :coolio:

BEAUTIFUL YELLOW SCARVES!
You are such a great writer! I love your descriptions and metaphors! I remember my mother telling me never to wear yellow.... It' s funny to see that even though I don't have many yellow colored clothes, I DO have lots of scarves with yellow as either the main color or used as accents. I have found that if I have a predominantly yellow scarf, I balance it with a top or dress that has the accent color (not yellow) as the main color. Then, it works for me. I do this with soft pastel colored scarves, too. Pastels always wash me out, but if paired with a bolder or darker top, it changes the way the scarf looks on me. I guess if the scarf isn't placed too close to my face, I can justify wearing colors that really don't work for me otherwise. I do hope I am making sense here..... I just woke up about thirty minutes ago and the coffee hasn't "kicked" in, yet.
Thanks for the compliment  You're making a lot of sense. I've been taking somewhat similar "evasive manoeuvres" to get away with sartorial murder. There was a "wardrobe sale" at my office (love working in the media ) so I bought a pile of shirts in neutrals and darks. The shirt collars keep the not-so-flattering colours away from my face; beige and greige tone down bright scarves, and the black and navy are wonderful canvases for spills of brilliant colour. Now I just have to figure out when to step back and regroup when I make the scarf look so good that it starts wearing me

Kermit Oliver is not my usual cup of tea, but damn, if that doesn't tie beautifully, moma! All his designs look amazing tied. I oughta just give in, really.
No worries, JD. Wa ko ni does seem like a KO theme, but it is actually by Antoine Tzapoff!! So you can remain a purist.
But I know what you mean. It took me a long time to want a KO, and a Canada sort of fell into my lap. I just recently added a Kachinas.

Both your posts made me squeal in delight! Moma, I love love love Parures Precieuses on you - how gorgeous is that??? [emoji44][emoji7][emoji8]

And Ladybaga, your iris is stunning! So glad to be cousins! This scarf is just irresistible in moussie format, it truly is. I want ALL THE COLORWAYS!
I can definitely see you in this PP. I think it's on the website and/or in boutiques. Also, yes, ALL THE IRISES!! Me too.

Would never have thought that golden yellow and lilac (very dark - looks blue here. Sorry!) and lavender would be any good together... However, I quite like it ;):

Here are my two yellow scarves: Au Coeur de la Vie and Au Pays des Oiseaux Fleurs. These pics are a bit blurry as they were taken with my old iPad. Mind you, the blurring hides the wrinkles!

Many thanks to those who have responded to my previous posts with likes or comments. This is really appreciated. I find it hard to keep up with this thread as there are so many wonderful photos and you all look so gorgeous.

Beautiful scarves, you look great wearing yellow.

Today is a day I needed some cheering up as we wait on some medical test results for DH. I head over here for some eye candy and am most plentifully rewarded by the most cheerful of colors - yellow. This isn't normally a color I gravitate towards but I'm learning to appreciate more after seeing everyone's fabulous posts. Like others, I didn't think I had a lot of yellows in my collection but wow, so many use yellow as an accent color! It can really add a bit of "pow!" to a design. Here are a few I can share:

And lastly, my latest precious that I just couldn't help but get - it has a beautiful dash of yellow along with just about every color in the rainbow: Iris cw 08

And my thoughts are with you, dear Joannadyne: DH and I had a week like that last month that turned out better than expected -- I wish the same for you!
