On the road this week, so I've limited myself to 3 fave scarves: 2 bright H and a dark Givenchy.
Current love - a very out-of-my-regular-palette brilliant Bains and a Temari which I deliberated over for some time because the purple was rather violently violet :p

Holiday shots: the dramatic H window at Changi Airport, a square watermelon at the fruit market, lilies at a hillside resort, and DS1's tea-flavoured ice cream cone topped with cute kitty-shaped biscuit

Twins on Bains. I love that cw of Temari--I've been waiting for that cw to find its way to me.

I am so sorry for Your loss, how heartbreaking to read about Your parents. The emptiness is just what it is but You will go through this by cherishing their love. Their love will never disapear around You.

Oh, HNN... what a very sad double loss. Thou-Bohu, indeed. (And I speak a tiny bit of Hebrew, but I never knew that translation.) I hope you can find comfort in their 70 years filled with love and happy memories.

HNN, I'm so sorry for your loss. Gosh 70 years. That's amazing. That's so hard on you to lose both at once. Sending you a big hug.

Dear HNN thank you for posting -- I'm sorry for the sudden and profound loss of your parents. I'm glad you are able to celebrate their lives, however, and remember so many years with them. I love your bright and happy scarves!

ninakt, ElainePG, Pocketbook Pup, and ABQ2ATL - Thank you all for your very kind words. :flowers::flowers::flowers::flowers:

I love the bright yellow in my Zenobie shawl. It reminds me of daffodils. (The daffodils are my neighbour's but she's inspired me to plant some tulips in my planter on my front porch - hopefully will have some bright colourful tulips to look at soon).

I get all yellow with envy seeing someone looking good in this colour - I look positively ill when getting close to this gorgeous colour

Tohu Bohu CSGM. The colors aren't actually bright. Tohu Bohu, translated from Hebrew, means chaos and emptiness, which is what my life feels like right now. Both my parents passed away within the past ten weeks. My Dad was 96, and my Mom was 92. They were married for 70 years!! I celebrate both their lives, and I'm so lucky they were my parents!! :hbeat::hbeat:

Now another bright and happy scarf - La Marche du Zambeze!!

My brightest scarf is Turandot. Orange (persimmon?) is honestly not the most flattering color for me, but it was the colorway I liked best in this design.
So I wear it when DH and I attend the opera, and I compensate with extra eye makeup and blusher!

The colour of persimmon indeed! You are beautiful wearing your Turandot, Elaine :flowers: and I'm chuckling with you on the extra eye makeup. :amuse:

My condolences on your loss, HNN. When a couple has been together that long, it often seems like if one passes on, the other just wants to join his or her other half.

Sorry for your loss, HNN. May this week's colorful scarves brighten your day.:hugs:

Thanks, bcat. I remember having a hard time deciding which cw to buy. Decided on this one because there was a suitable grimness

lol....I can relate to that....considering sometimes I like a scarf simply because it is a little weird... :giggle:

Thank you, frou frou, for the excellent article on Bali Barret. Loved it! I think in my next life I will come back for her job!
These photos are from yesterday - not accurate for theme but shared to show how hard my scarves work on a daily basis. Often they 'migrate', whether from one knot to the next or, as in this example, from my head down to my neck and then into various knots to address the internal and external temperature fluctuations that are part of daily existence. My long-standing trick for getting a scarf to stay on as a turban : small pieces of fashion tape on the skin behind my ears. Yes, I essentially tape the scarf to my head. :hrmm: I know this sounds crazy but it works for me. The tape is invisible to the eye, keeps the scarf in place and has never damaged any silk so I go with it. This is a day in the life of my 90cm Flore et Faune du Texas. Happy weekend to all.

litchi - My parent's long marriage was truly remarkable. I'm so proud of them.

xincinsin - I've heard of long-married couples who pass away close to the same time, and actually wondered if my parents would do that. I appreciate how deeply in love they were.
