Chestnutty's perfumed pochette post reminded me of a late entry for jewel week ....

Hello Walmart Shoppers…eh…err…I mean Silkies, Scarfies, Beautiful Women and Dashing Men:

I have volunteered to be Silk Mistress for a bit—until I fail miserably in attempt, or am booed off the throne. No one can compare to our previous Yodas of Silk. I am such a novice in comparison, but Seton and Chestnutty and Jahna and maybe even Tosca will pop in A LOT to assist this fumbling fledgling.

Tomorrow will be my debut!

Super-duper late on this thread, I have 2 days to catch up... But before, my last "jewelry" one : Maharadjas. And now, back to have a look at what all of you showcased! :D

Kind of short on jewel-toned gems here; they tend to be a bit beyond my ability to adapt to menswear (or bravery to do so). Mechanics du Temps today, which I am certain is in one of the precious stone colors. Ladies, name that stone!

John, DFW

As per usual, I jumped to the end of the thread to answer so someone else may have supplied a satisfactory answer, hermesguy. But it's a great question. My answers are blue chalcedony, iolite, and if there's some faint white streaking through the light blue, then blue lace agate. And, a pearl.

Hola fellow silkies,
I just want to share with you my latest beauty: the gavroche Un Jardin sur le toit (A garden on the rooftop) by Mr. Dumas.
I have been in love with this cute piece of silk for a long time and I'm glad it's re-issued this year in the same format.
To me, it's yet another perfect example of H scarf and a perfect example of scarves issued in the size that is ideal for its design. I love that it is detailed and abstract, modern yet surprisingly interesting with all Parisian details: vintage cars, ladies with their baby strollers, people walking their dog (thankfully Dumas didn't draw dog p**p like IRL, a real issue in Paris, LOL). If the scarf were issued in 90cm, it would zoom up the sketches, which would kill the intricacy of them, and make the scarf look similar to other sketch/abstract scarves like Passage à Tokyo or Instruction sur l'Art, so 45cm is THE perfect size!
Also, the scarf in my interpretation is a bold statement: time changes everything in Paris - buildings, people, cars and such, like in a continuous fast-forward film - but one thing that still remains with time is that the design house, H, will continue to make beautiful products, like the ever-blooming garden on top of FSH. I sincerely hope so, as long as they don't keep printing scarves using laser to reduce costs.
Thanks for listening to my rambling. Here's the babe! (sorry I forgot to photograph the red contrast hem)

Wow, Chesnutty, I'm lovin' the rose with the color contrast!!! How'd you do that? If I do a basic fold that falls nicely, I figure I'm ahead of the game but you're really nimble fingers with these silks.
