Not the most subtle design but it's such a great orange .

Experimenting here with Arabesques'Chou chou two ways .

The choucroute know suits you so well froufrou ! Autumn colors are great on you!

I'm way late to the party for last week's theme! I was prepping for a show and everything got away from me. Here's Phaeton for last week's blue theme. I feel a little like Phaethon when putting it on, like I could do anything!

Tomorrow I take a much needed day off, so hopefully I get to catch up again in here!

Thanks for letting me in the sandbox late! I'm off again for the last day of my bead show.

Even my local zoo has less tigers than your closet!

Hahaaa Smartie having a Party! Even the Hawaiian ocean doesn't have as many shades of blue as your closet!

Gorgeous Dipper my friend. I find that I wear these easier than silk twills. I think the more "loved" feel when you buy them makes them more inviting. Dang Silk Twill is so pristine and perfect!

Most of my scarves seem to fit into the Autumn spectrum.
Here's a very old design which came back from cleaning at H all spanking clean and new looking .I never wash an older scarf with reddish pigments cos they RUN
It came out of it's box for Ledoux week and I took a couple of pics , now it's gone back to 'rest'
Reprise by Ledoux
Wow, that's a great look.

Thank you , Elaine!
I was very happy when I found the expression”scream blue murder" in the dictionary. I thought I could almost capture the contrast of the noisy crows with the hawk, which may be alone and keep quiet. But I could not realize another meaning of "murder" , murder of crows. No wonder we rarely see the crow being alone!

Also I could not realize another meaning of unruffled . I did not see how the hawk looked like, while reading your haiku. And did not realize the murder of crows usually behaved against the hawk!
Thank you for your lecture. It is helpful for me to enjoy your haiku much more. It is intersting looking for another meaning of the words in the dictionary.
Happy to help out, cherryblossum! After I wrote it, I was afraid I wrote more than you wanted to know... I hope I didn't bore everyone on the thread!

Apologies to anyone here who doesn't care a bit about poetry... I'll post a photo of my new (to me) Napoléon tomorrow, and get back to the topic!

Just in time for "Autumn Colors", this is Jardins d'Armenie CSGM. I didn't think to post it, but wore it today to a meet, and momasaurus said it's great for autumn!! She's right!!

It is perfect for autumn, HN... in particular, it makes me think of late autumn, after Daylight Savings Time ends, walking home from school in the near-dark! It's a gorgeous scarf.:smile1:

A Haiku conference??? What kind of crazy talk it this?? Tell us more Ms. Elaine

Well... every year, 30 to 40 deeply disturbed individuals :p gather at the Asilomar Conference Center, on the Monterey Peninsula, to immerse themselves in reading and writing haiku! We go on walks on the beach and in the woods, and then write about what we have seen & heard. In three lines. Like the one I wrote yesterday.

Usually there is one contest during the weekend, where we submit out "best" three haiku, and then there is a complicated voting process... the top five winners get a prize. I didn't get enough votes for a prize this year (you needed 5 or more votes) but I did get 4 votes for one of my haiku, and I felt very proud, because many people got zero votes!

This particular group has been meeting together for well over 20 years, but DH and I have only been joining them for the last 7 years.

I guess this is what nerds do after they finish high school & college!:D

Oh... and I wore a different Japanese-themed scarf every day of the conference: Daimyo, Kimonos et Inros, and Ex-Libris en Kimonos. By the third day, people were complimenting me: "Elaine! You always wear such pretty scarves!" I just smiled...:graucho:
