Oh Scarfies, you all look so lovely. Anfang, Froufrou is beautiful, eloquent and spot-on with her description of your style!
MYH, you make everything look gorgeous. Love your style.
Maedi, your black and white horse shoe scarf is lovely and the best cw of course. I am wearing my IF today and it is growing on me. In the 140s, the cws were odd to me but I am happy to have it. Sophieg, you look perfect! Married life must be good for you--and do I spy new eye makeup? Delicious my dear.

Thank you my dear sparklelisab, for your kind words ! :hugs:

Anfang, Orage/Framboise combo sounds heavenly and right up my alley! I guess it is faded Orage? :D Hope I get to see it in person soon. Meantime, here is a pic of the salmon cw CE I sneaked.

And H has to do the CenC dip dye in the 140 format too!
so warm, so feminine, love it! Thx for sharing!

Unlike you, I didn't keep my scarves. I'd buy a couple of new ones every few years and donate the

How I envy u! I have a problem here. I couldn't stop buying scarves every other week on average. I wanted to sell some but couldn't bear to let go of any. My closet is bursting at the seams. Guestroom closet would be full soon. I might have to pack some securely to put them in kitties' room. Unfortunately not much storage areas in Asian apts!

Darling, tell me about Parisian apts storage... And my cupboards goes from the floor to the ceiling...

Hard to follow on Anfang and Ms Piggy's heels, but this scarf Au Ciel de la Mer has also been another workhorse surprise. This cw looks like 4 diff scarves depending in the corner shown. I can amp up he color or tone it down depending on my outfit and mood.

Love this design enough to get 2 cws even though I should curb my spending! But this design is sheer magic!

I know Eagle. I would be BROKE if I lived where DLee is. I would have to move to another country to save my bank account!
OMG! Iam getting there: approximately 70 scarves within 17/18 months! I will be making enquiries at the Republic of Mali Consulate to find out how I could settle in Timbuktu. Very bad if I had to declare bankruptcy in retirement.

Very little in Manhattan apartments either. :smile1: I'm always boxing stuff up.

In the old days, people didn't own large numbers of a single item of clothing The number of bags and shoes a woman owned was so far less than today. You might own one "fall jacket" and one "spring jacket."

So I think for me buying two scarves at one time was quite an unusual experience. Of course the dollar was so strong then, prices in France were very low for an American, and I wasn't going to be in Paris all the time. No internet, no eBay, no resellers, nothing to do but buy multiples.

It is so hard to sell something you love. I have often tried and then can't do it. But don't let the kitties at the scarves until you've enjoyed them more. :nogood:

Keep them all, sweetheart, they really become "souvenirs", as time goes by ;)!

beekmanhill you're killing me with your donations!!
Anfang you're killing me with your montain of orange boxes!!
MYH you're killing me with your De la mer au ciel!

Guess I'd better go to bed before someone kills me again ;)

Actually, I don't see orange boxes, because most of my scarves were Xmas gifts and came with the decorated "over-boxes" (?)
De la mer au ciel is one of the designs that speak to me (with Galop chromatique et carré cube)

Thank you for your kind words, dear perfumegirl. Just like you I balanced between pink and blue, took the blue, and even if still think of the pink, the blue wins! Good luck deciding! 😉

And don't be worried, the dip-dyes don't like the rain but I wouldn't describe them as "fragile" as they are easier to clean than regular twill. I just try to avoid the rain for them . Under rain, get your moussies out! They work wonderfully! 😊

Hi Anfang, you'll be happy to know that I decided to keep the blue after all. I went to exchange it for the salmon. My usual SA was not there and the SA that was going to process the exchange for me looked at it gasped, "oh god no! I would never pick that one for you. That totally washes you out." That made me pause. Anyway, it turned out that they had a second blue shawl that they let me exchange the one I originally bought. Same pattern and colorway, but somehow the colors looked more vibrant. I get what you are saying. I still think about the pink, but have to concur with all the SAs in the store. The blue is just so much more flattering on my skin.

Seems like we're from the same generation! While I grew up, there were no internet,no eBay, no resellers & furthermore, no returns here in Asia. So we all learnt to be 200% sure we loved the item before we bought it. Old habits die hard. So I really couldn't sell anything I've bought since I had really considered each item carefully before purchase!

BTW, I have yet to figure out how to store my orange boxes in cardboard boxes since kitties love to sharpen their claws on them!:pullhair:

Ms piggy, I have been eyeing this color way. Did you like it?

You have my 100% support on your AuCoeur justification. Tying the two together sounds fab and the fuchsia surprised and captivated me with its beauty (especially the inner cell and the green in it).

Pretty on you, did you buy it ?

No, I wanted to see more colour way of this print first to make the final decision. It is a subtle beauty.

And here is another one, heavily, heavily worn, thanks to Pegase, my forever evil enabler. CSGM L'Imprimeur Fou Camails, naturel/rose indien/toundra :

Twins and this is fast becoming a work horse for me too. I mentioned when first I received the shawl I was pleasantly surprised how much it went with, the colours come together beautifully, aesthetically and functionally. And to think I got it because of the rose indien colour (not a neutral workhorse colour)!

Anfang I know we are twins on the Cherry/Bordeaux Cliquetis dip dye 140. Do you remember there was a salmon-y cw too (pic below)? I wonder how does the Cliquetis one compares to the CE. On another note, I was also cousin with you on the Les Cles DD (pics further below) but had to let it go to another home in the end as I found the cw I chose was just too much for my comfort even if the colours were gorgeous!

Maedi, the CE dip dye in salmon is pretty but I wanted to see other cw before picking one. Now that I have seen pics of Anfang's Orage/Framboise, I really would like to try that one.

The fuchsia AuCouer is a totally head turner, I love the heady mix of purple/pink/orange/green in the centre cell!
