My orange boxes kill me everyday when it comes about putting them in my closet!beekmanhill you're killing me with your donations!!
Anfang you're killing me with your montain of orange boxes!!
MYH you're killing me with your De la mer au ciel!
Guess I'd better go to bed before someone kills me again
Actually, I don't see orange boxes, because most of my scarves were Xmas gifts and came with the decorated "over-boxes" (?)
De la mer au ciel is one of the designs that speak to me (with Galop chromatique et carré cube)
Aaah, perfumegirl! So you see! I'm happy to know you found another blue one. Each one is different, this is why those DD have to be seen IRL and tried on! Bravo, my dear, and enjoy!Hi Anfang, you'll be happy to know that I decided to keep the blue after all. I went to exchange it for the salmon. My usual SA was not there and the SA that was going to process the exchange for me looked at it gasped, "oh god no! I would never pick that one for you. That totally washes you out." That made me pause. Anyway, it turned out that they had a second blue shawl that they let me exchange the one I originally bought. Same pattern and colorway, but somehow the colors looked more vibrant. I get what you are saying. I still think about the pink, but have to concur with all the SAs in the store. The blue is just so much more flattering on my skin.
ms piggy, I think this is wise to wait for more cws of this Concours d'Etriers. Posting below for you the red one, courtesy France H.com, which could not work for me, as the design is too much drawn inside. No, I wanted to see more colour way of this print first to make the final decision. It is a subtle beauty.
Twins and this is fast becoming a work horse for me too. I mentioned when first I received the shawl I was pleasantly surprised how much it went with, the colours come together beautifully, aesthetically and functionally. And to think I got it because of the rose indien colour (not a neutral workhorse colour)!
Anfang I know we are twins on the Cherry/Bordeaux Cliquetis dip dye 140. Do you remember there was a salmon-y cw too (pic below)? I wonder how does the Cliquetis one compares to the CE. On another note, I was also cousin with you on the Les Cles DD (pics further below) but had to let it go to another home in the end as I found the cw I chose was just too much for my comfort even if the colours were gorgeous!
Maedi, the CE dip dye in salmon is pretty but I wanted to see other cw before picking one. Now that I have seen pics of Anfang's Orage/Framboise, I really would like to try that one.
The fuchsia AuCouer is a totally head turner, I love the heady mix of purple/pink/orange/green in the centre cell!

And you have an excellent memory, my dear! Yes, we're twins on the cherry/bordeaux Cliquetis. The orange Cliquetis you posted is not this 'salmony' IRL. I must confess I have this one too... The colors are orange vif/capucine/bronze. I attach a pic worn, thus you may see it's quite bright IRL, even if the light is not the best...and not as subdued as the Concours d'Etriers. And I agree once more with you : this awesome cw of Les Clés totally washed me out, this is why I chose the grey blue/mid blue one!
I found a pic I took of the 'salmon-y' Cliquetis. Is it the same cw you have? Somehow in my memory it looked more pale than this watermelon-y-orange-y. Must be the age catching up!
I agree the red CdE is not for me either. I'm excited to see your Orage/Framboise!

It is the same Cliquetis, ms piggy. My pic makes it brighter than IRL, for sure, but when worn, the bright orange shows out, and not this much the bronze. It is brighter than my Astrologie DD corail/rouille, for eg
And I'm going to snap a better pic go this orage/framboise 😉
Ms piggy,
I have been in many precarious situations in my life. But viewing your posted scarves is the most precarious of them all. I guess I must stay away from this thread to let my purse recuperate!![]()
ms piggy, I'm afraid I'm not as reasonable as you are... Unable to make a choice, I picked the 2 Cliquetis...Ah, ok. Good to hear your comments. It's been a while and too many other prints since when I last saw the Cliquetis. I guess there's a reason why I picked the cherry/bordeaux cw instead.
D Lee one of the reasons we are here on this forum is to obsess on our interest. I always enjoy viewing the postings here by others. It's like we know we shouldn't really look lest we get tempted but can't resist anyway! Seriously, I am happy to see the postings so I can make an informed decision (my excuse!).![]()
And this is the most truthful pic I'm able to snap. This one is pretty hard to shoot...Sorry about the piles behind!![]()
You're very welcome, ms piggy, and thank you for indulging the orange mess behind and my pleated cheeks!Anfang everything is GORGEOUS here! From the wearer, to the grey jumper, the silk to the piles of scarf boxes behind! Now I really can't wait to see this cw. I don't have a dip dye remotely like this!
Mmmm, Jahna, CdE is 140, to me so much better than 90!Well, I am loving that CdE in red. Haven't been tempted in a LONG time. Of course you (MYH) posting the pics of the "Mer" scarf does not help. I am a sucker for scarves that tie in different CWs.
Reminder: tomorrow starts a new year of "scarf weeks". Chestnutty posted the themes in her first post; someone needs to step up to the plate to "herd" it along.
Next week begins with:
04/06/14 - Jewelry Scarves: Scarves featuring jewelry or in jewel tones
