I think I need to find a way to make a knotting database. Hermès' app is too limited, and MaiTai's is too difficult to access on a phone
Maybe it should just be a group of images to browse in the gallery! I just wish I could draw.
Ohhh yes please!

Alrgordon, it's not complicated at all, just follow melora's directions, she explained the steps very clearly.
1 Attach your 2 scarves together in a corner
2 Put them behind your neck, the knot on one side, the whole fabric on the other side
3 slip the fabric between the 2 scarves (next to the knot)
It's just like when you fold a (winter, wool) scarf in 2 and let the end go through the loop.

By Scarf of the Day standards, this is not very old, but it is my oldest H scarf:
Flies, by Cathy Latham, 1988. I still wear this one, the colours suit my wardrobe and sporty style. It is nice to see some posts from members who have been silent for a while!![]()
Sparklelisab, you aren't afraid of color! Those two work well together; I wouldn't have thought of it. I have never seen that CW of "Doigts".
Melora24, for now I am painting in traditional mediums on canvas or watercolor boards. With illustration, I used the airbrush and the computer. Long way from finishing any scarf; I'll let you know.
Nico_79, I am a little sorry to say that some of my favorite pieces of art are from high school, but when I went "commercial" I stopped painting for a LONG time. I have gotten inspired again, I think mostly because of Hermes. I am constantly enthralled by the inventiveness of taking a design and producing it in multiple CWs that all work to some degree. My acquisitions now have to do with tracking down what I see as the best CW of certain scarves. The people who separate out the screens are brilliant, and I am amazed at how different one scarf from one CW to another.
Well, I was going to photograph some of my old ones today, but it is raining (again)... Here's a really unusual one from 1948 of which I do have a picture:
Melora, if you take photographs of the scarf ties, you could just trace over the photos to make the drawings...or if you take the photos and send them to me I could do it. There isn't already something on the web? EVERYTHING is already on the web. Off to look for "infinity scarves" LOL...
Jahna and Melora, this could be such an amazing collaboration! Just think of what you two, with your talents, could do together!Terrible knotters, like me, need your step by step illustrations!

Greetings friends.... I love vintage, so this is one of my fave weekly themes. Thanks so much for sharing all your vintage treasures! I think I have shared my oldest baby a few times before. Here is one photo from my archive. This is Alsace, from the 60s.
Soooo...I was at Corcoran (in D.C.) yesterday, and went into the ladies room, and what should I see?

"Le Salon Dore", Caty Latham, date? It was a special edition done for the Corcoran, and I wish I had gotten a better picture (next time I will take my camera. Maybe someone has this scarf and can post a picture? Really beautiful!

Thanks, Vitamina!.... I am not very familiar with Uncle Hansi and the history of this particular design, but it does showcase lots of the region culture and traditional garbs. Maybe other tPFers can chime in on this.Carrelover, your Alsace is beautiful! I have never seen this before. I love your scarf and the actual Alsace region! Is that Hansi peeking out? Oh, so adorable!
