Oh, that's easy.

Step 1: fold scarves in rectangles.
Step 2: fold diagonally
Step 3: grab the corners and drap around your neck/shoulders. You'll have a "wing" on each shoulder, or one on the back and the other on the front.
Step 4: knot the corners or use a scarfring to secure.

Thanks melora! I think I got it now! So you do the same steps but placing one scarf on top of the other, I'm running to try it now.
I did the friendship knot with 2 scarves using your method, it looks great!

I wear two scarves together this way, they look like a GM:
(here Paris-London and Chanson de France)

Looks like a very intricate knot birkinmary and you rock it! - would you mind sharing the steps? I'm always fascinated with new knots! :smile1: TIA!

Nice knot! It's so easy and quick! I have to remember this one :)

Is that a friendship knot or something else?

Anyway, nice pairings! If we didn't know, we'd think that's just one big scarf!

1 Attach your 2 scarves together in a corner
2 Put them behind your neck, the knot on one side, the whole fabric on the other side
3 slip the fabric between the 2 scarves (next to the knot)

It's just like when you fold a (winter, wool) scarf in 2 and let the end go through the loop.

By Scarf of the Day standards, this is not very old, but it is my oldest H scarf:
Flies, by Cathy Latham, 1988. I still wear this one, the colours suit my wardrobe and sporty style. It is nice to see some posts from members who have been silent for a while! :woohoo:

This is so beautiful and looks magnificent paired with black. Thank you for the warm welcome to us silent peeps! :smile1:

Tell me about this, Vitamina H! I'm a member here since Jan 2009 but was too chicken to post until 2013!

Oh dear Anfang, I am ever so glad you did! I adore your posts. You are such an asset to all of us scarfies! Thank you so much my dear! Madame Anfang, you have even enabled me to further my horizons with your amazing Imprimeur Fou beauties. Now, I am checking the men's department on H. com everyday as well!

Wow, this is so fun!!! I want to see your try-outs, Vitamina H and Anfang!

Melora, you are so sweet. I have to admit that I didn't have much scarf knotting luck last night, but I am not giving up! Good news is that you have helped me put together two scarves that I had never thought of wearing together! :D I picked Au Fil du Carre and Aloha dip dye. Thanks for the idea!

Birkinmary, your photos are just unbelievably gorgy! If you and Melora should ever hold a scarf knotting workshop, I'd be the first to sign up :D!

I think I need to find a way to make a knotting database. Hermès' app is too limited, and MaiTai's is too difficult to access on a phone ;)
Maybe it should just be a group of images to browse in the gallery! I just wish I could draw.

Thank you Vitamina H, you make me blush :blushing:That said, you're right to browse the men's dept! A gold mine, I shall not tell it too much!

Sparklelisab, you aren't afraid of color! Those two work well together; I wouldn't have thought of it. I have never seen that CW of "Doigts".

Melora24, for now I am painting in traditional mediums on canvas or watercolor boards. With illustration, I used the airbrush and the computer. Long way from finishing any scarf; I'll let you know.

Nico_79, I am a little sorry to say that some of my favorite pieces of art are from high school, but when I went "commercial" I stopped painting for a LONG time. I have gotten inspired again, I think mostly because of Hermes. I am constantly enthralled by the inventiveness of taking a design and producing it in multiple CWs that all work to some degree. My acquisitions now have to do with tracking down what I see as the best CW of certain scarves. The people who separate out the screens are brilliant, and I am amazed at how different one scarf from one CW to another.

Well, I was going to photograph some of my old ones today, but it is raining (again)... Here's a really unusual one from 1948 of which I do have a picture:

Love this scarf, we are in the business of horse racing so all of the horsey scarves appeal to me particularly horse racing. I bought a lovely vintage Chantilly horse racing scarf about 8 years ago and was lucky enough to visit Chantilly for the races 5 years ago so now it is sentimental for me.
