Hello and good morning,
In my, admittedly limited, collection, I consider Aline Honoré as the most "accomplished" designer. Her drawings are incredibly detailed, she works with nuances and shadows and is thus able to create illusionary designs, as for example in Cent Plis des Miao, an underrated design imo. Look at those pleats, don't they look real? And then these intricate patterns with blanc matte overlay!View attachment 6214249 The first design which attracted me and started my hunt for Aline designs was Plumes en Fête, a CSGM, and then I bought this 90. She creates the illusion as if sunlight touches the feathers, makes them shimmer and gleam and lets them dance. Hello all! I'm nearing the end of my visit here in Rwanda and it has been absolutely amazing! Today a silverback gorilla stared straight into my soul. That feeling is unforgettable and indescribable. I've walked muddy trails at 10,000ft elevation, slipped and fell flat on my butt into a pile of stinging nettles, heard chimpanzees vocalizing all around me in the forest, shopped to support the local community, ate way too much because the food has been too good, taught two papermaking classes, and captured a few scarf wearings, including 2 newbies I picked up at the airport in Qatar.

Masks are to protect the gorillas from contracting diseases from humans. They are required! Here there is a youngster grooming one of the silverbacks. This completely made my day!

View attachment 6212106 Isn't he magnificent! He is staring directly into my soul. All of the gorillas in Rwanda are named, to signify their importance and their individuality. It also helps to keep track of them and aids in long term research. This beautiful male is Charles, one of the few with a non-Western name. The gorillas born in 2024 will be named next month in a huge celebration called Kwita Izina. It's really something!

I've missed you all and look forward to being back in the swing of things. One last hike here tomorrow - we are climbing to the top of a volcano - Mt Bisoke - for our 28th anniversary. 12,000-some feet!

A colorful look with Carre Libre 70 for running some errands this morning.

Anyone have suggestions for ties that show off more of the fun striped hem? So far my most successful was a ruffley fold that I tried this spring (with the same skirt, apparently I like this pairing!), but I would welcome more ideas! View attachment 6212463

I also would like to show the latest Annie Faivre design, Jardin des Peintres, knowing that I'm a sister to many of you. 💜 When I saw it in the boutique it was clear that this was my cw. The A side is quite elegant, very finely drawn and poetic. But the B side! A clash of colours, savage and joyful, just incredibly wild. One of those few really contrasting double sided scarves and truly 2 scarves in 1. I have to agree with @HermesEchidna that Aline Honoré has produced some of the most beautiful scarves in the Hermès galaxy and with @darkstar66's view that she is one of the most accomplished designers.
I only have four designs in multiple (format or cw), and three are by her. My silk PdS today (the other is my most precious blue CSGM)

I am both an Annie and Alice-fan, and there are designers I want to own everything from, but imho Aline Honoré have made the scarves I would count as the most individual beautiful ones. I also like that they are quite different, and a few times I have discovered that a design I was attracted to was in fact another Aline - in time I stopped being surprised 😊

Thank you kindly! I did some experimenting with ruffles yesterday and had a great time. That’d be Staud’s Bird of Paradise bucket bag, one of my favorite novelty bags!
