Parures de Samourais is without doubt a masterpiece and perhaps the diamond in my collection. But... I am ambivalent towards this design. In my cw, it surely has magnificent colours, I think, the design is wonderfully drawn (I don't think I have anything this meticulously drawn), it has a sort of 3 dimensional effect regarding its different elements, it is mesmerizing and yet despite of all of this, I don't wear it, it's just in my collection.

Thank you! My ACdlV has the pink border with green center. I believe it is from the original issue and has a soft vintage feel to it. I often try to hide the pink border though since it is not my favorite color

I am already sneaking in my SOTD: I am sure after Aline and Annie, we will shift to Alice today. I only own Cheval Sirene of her designs. I am loving the B side more and more for its almost neutral quality.

Even though I admire a lot more, i have not yet found any more for reasonable prizes..

Apologies for not commenting on all your wonderful posts dear scarfies! There are a lot of things happening here that prevent me from tying scarves, taking photos etc. Only enough time to admire your beautiful selections and giving a little love emoji ❤️
And because of actual heatwave no intention to wear something around my neck. 🫣 Anyhow a belated thanks to @AnnaE for teaching us so much about everything Grygkar related! It was wonderful! 😍 And thanks to @Jereni for guiding us through a week with my absolute favorite designers! The three A ladies are by far the most represented in my scarf drawer.
So today I took one of my most loved scarves Pélages et Camouflages and used it as a headband. This is the red one. I have two other 90 silks in green and brown and a warm one for autumn and winter.

Hello all! I'm nearing the end of my visit here in Rwanda and it has been absolutely amazing! Today a silverback gorilla stared straight into my soul. That feeling is unforgettable and indescribable. I've walked muddy trails at 10,000ft elevation, slipped and fell flat on my butt into a pile of stinging nettles, heard chimpanzees vocalizing all around me in the forest, shopped to support the local community, ate way too much because the food has been too good, taught two papermaking classes, and captured a few scarf wearings, including 2 newbies I picked up at the airport in Qatar.

Masks are to protect the gorillas from contracting diseases from humans. They are required! Here there is a youngster grooming one of the silverbacks. This completely made my day!

View attachment 6212106 Isn't he magnificent! He is staring directly into my soul. All of the gorillas in Rwanda are named, to signify their importance and their individuality. It also helps to keep track of them and aids in long term research. This beautiful male is Charles, one of the few with a non-Western name. The gorillas born in 2024 will be named next month in a huge celebration called Kwita Izina. It's really something!

I've missed you all and look forward to being back in the swing of things. One last hike here tomorrow - we are climbing to the top of a volcano - Mt Bisoke - for our 28th anniversary. 12,000-some feet!

This scarf is lovely on you, darkstar. But, I understand your ambivalence as I don't own this design at all. In my case I'm sure it is because when laying flat there are so many rows of border. Which is, of course, why it ties so well.

Thank you, Redbird. For me, it's more a problem of cords and ropes, I don't like them very much on me. And then there's the title. I dislike everything relating to war and battle, and what else is a Samurai than a warrior? Well well, sensitivities, I know. But it's truly a jewel of a scarf.
