A pop of yellow to go with the silly steeds of Grand Carrosse Royal today!

And here is my new-in Le Triomphe Du Paladin for @CedarWaxWing and @LKBNOLA. I know I mentioned chocolate and caramel for the colors, but, looking at it again, the chocolate color seems to be flirting with a shade of burgundy almost, so maybe I should adjust that color description to something even MORE culinary themed, like sea salt caramel paired with a delightful pinot noir with prominent notes of cocoa. Hmm.

Might need a snack. :shrugs:

It is beautiful @SilkCashmereCotton -- thank you for sharing it and showing it flat. Another perfect earring match too! Your Carrosse is so pretty with the gold hem and if you like expressive horse faces -- or at least beautiful gentle horses with soulful eyes, you must have a Marwari, right?

I am looking forward to this week hosted by @Karenska-- I always learn a lot from these creative styling themes! Here is my most recent combination of two scarves together: a 70 vintage plus CSGT. I wore this outfit to a luncheon in NYC last month and I was just so tickled at how well the combination worked...

Wow! Such an expert-level combo and so wonderfully set off by your jacket.

But I am also super excited to share my SOTD and Scarf Mail-- a new cw of one of my very favorite Annie Faivre designs. With thanks to our lovely and much missed @Coco2606 for the inspiration, here is Chemins de Corail in cw 13 fuschia/gris/bordeaux. I am so delighted to have it and maybe a little on theme because it pairs well with my marinière stripes?

This color combo with your scarf and marinière makes my heart go pitter-pat! Big congrats on your delightful scarf mail.

Thank you to @Karenska for hosting this week’s Two Scarves, Contrasting and Complementary Colors Week. Thank you also for the kind words about Jewelry Week. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

I often pick contrasting or complementary colors when selecting my outfit and scarf for the day. They give the outfit a bit of extra pop.

My scarf of the day is Sous le Charme d'Orphee. This orange-yellow colorway contrasts nicely with my dark blue top.

View attachment 6190832

I'm wearing a new golden South Sea pearl drop on a strand of vintage Biwa pearls from Kojima Pearl. My earrings are green diamond briolettes set on green gold wires. These were sourced from Stephen Vincent Design.

This dark blue dotted top with your Sous le Charme d'Orphee and jewelry is a total showstopper! Your new south sea pearl is the cherry on top, and the earrings are super wow. Love this outfit!

Good morning!!

This is just a try-on of a recently arrived grail Wild Singapore which I will wear later this morning for celebration of DS’ final exam and thus graduation. A monday should always hold some hugging and champagne.

By coïncidence I think I am almost on theme with blue-orange/yellow.
View attachment 6191169
Wish you all a lovely day!
Congrats on your graduate and your amazing Wild Singapore grail.

I picked up a vintage 27 inch square cotton Thalassa a while back, and tried pairing it today with my new Thalassa cotton twilly. I may need to rethink this, as I feel like I'm wearing a prize ribbon of some sort.

View attachment 6191285View attachment 6191284

Thalassa scarf and twilly in cotton are my scarves of the day.

View attachment 6191283

I really like this, @Redbirdhermes, all the stripes and colors are very appealing together. Not prize ribbon -ish to me at all.

Trying to go for some good contrast today with En Liberté and a navy dress.

View attachment 6191323
Very sharp looking combo, @Jereni. Summery and put-together with that yummy kiss of gold jewelry.

My most common approach to an outfit is for the scarf to contrast the clothes, and then add jewelry/bracelet and Chanel flats and bag to match the scarf.

Orange with purple today (Marine Naïve mousseline). Wearing an orange bracelet and purple flats (I don’t actually have orange flats!). My bag is in Capucine, so while not orange, it is orange-y.

View attachment 6191335

This is such an underrated color combo and it looks so fantastic on you, @AnnaE!

Oh so beautiful, @Croisette7. It looks like your necklace was made to wear with this scarf.

Very polished and beautiful. GMs are a great shield against too relentless AC.

That is just a beautiful contrast with the white top and the chain necklace echoing the scarf motif, and of course, your beautiful cuff @Croisette7.

Ah, yes. That one is very hard to find @redheaddem-- I will keep an eye out .... :hugs:

Thank you -- very kind of you to say @darkstar66! I love the silk pants. They also come in velvet and that is next on my list for fall and winter!

So happy to hear your road trip is completed @CoastalCouture -- and we took the lid of the Heat Dome pot just in time for your arrival. This looks beautiful on navy...

And matching lipstick, too! Red is definitely your color @AnnaE!

The colors are in perfect harmony @Redbirdhermes and wonderful on the brown stripes. Nice neutral look!

Well, in the wild I might have two dogs on a leash, a hat askew on my head, sunglasses slipping down my nose and the scarf tucked into my shirt @Maedi but you are very nice to conflate me in the wild with my mod shots! And speaking of mod shots, your scarf play is wonderful here-- I especially love the dip-dyes together, but oh, wait the bandanaCS/70 CS is pretty compelling and so is the cyclamen Maharani paired with the soft green...and I hope that Brazil never gets rehomed. It is beautiful on you!

Oh you look perfectly composed and elegant @Agrume and yes, always have to have a shawl for movies, conferences and waiting rooms! We joke that it is not climate control so much as refrigeration... Wishing you safe travels and a productive conference!
Thank you so much, dear Maedi and LKBNOLA!

I actually had an appt today that got me out of sweaty work clothes so I got to wear a scarf! Yippee! I love this becanes in summer. And I am sure I’m off theme, I will go check to see what it is

View attachment 6191730
Your Les Becanes is divine, @Nomad. For some reason it reminds me of Mary Poppins? Just so joyful and playful in this colorway. That striped hem is everything. I'm sure it made going to your appointment more fun!

This could be a late post for last week's theme. I have had this scarf on my mind for the longest time as it evokes wonderful memories of staying in estancias with gauchos in Argentina, fazendas in Brazil or the encounter with these chagras in Andean Ecuador.

View attachment 6191943

While it did not arrive in time for horse week, it works for contrasting color week too I believe. I was not even sure this cw existed in real as I only saw it on Pinterest only once, so I was delighted to find it!

Thinking this morning about contrast - I usually go for a tone on tone look, or a Look At These Colors look, but today I have them both goin’ on.

Navy top and skirt, marine scarf - but Marine/Vert/Fuchsia - for the lookie here!

Mythiques Phoenix Coloriage. Brilliant colors, contrasting with the white and blue center - AND - the stunning silver limn-ing (is that a word - I dunno) around everything in the marine border.
Magical!

Dazzling visual fireworks for sure! Love it, @Cookiefiend.

It’s been too hot to wear scarves this week so I’m sharing one of my favourite scarves (archive): Le Potager Extraordinaire with a contrast colour. Please, weather, cool down so I can wear this beauty again.

View attachment 6192218
What a satisfying contrast with your top! Sending you cooler weather vibes.

Today was a really good day! I logged a personal best in 50m sprint at the pool, where I encountered a friend who decided to get back into swimming having been inspired by my social media posts about my swimming progress and my hopes that someone who was thinking about swimming would give it a try for its phenomenal health benefits.

They did! That was so rewarding. Incredible pep in my step to start the day, and then my DD went out to lunch with me at a swanky place I know she doesn't care for but she knows I adore all because I must have said the right thing at the right time. Teenagers can be a challenge. At lunch we got to really, really talk and it was just the best icing on the cake of a wonderful day.

And I got to wear this 70 before it gets too hot for the summer. Rendez-vous Gallant, which I picked because of the pairs of animals / lovers and the MONKEYS! So adorable. Taking it off, I noticed the sweetest detail -- above where the brand appears is a little arrow heart carved into the tree trunk.

And then next to it, one of the only animals on the scarf that doesn't have a pair. So strange. Maybe its pair is the cat on the opposing side, maybe a little game of cat and mouse, foes not friends. I would love to know the artist's inspiration for those two not being paired off. Well with feathers like that hanging off its apparent ears, it got my attention! Having no idea about this bird, I googled to learn more, and woah boy! This bird is out of this world. It's called a King of Saxony bird of paradise and those feathers are totally that long and articulated and look simultaneously super fragile and strong AF with the way it whips them around in its mating display. This bird resides in Papua New Guinea and if you're brave enough to hear its call, prepare yourself for what seems like a rendez-vous with some space alien! That is exactly what this bird sounds like.

Best comment: Are we sure this bird isn't an alien?
Kind of makes one wonder!

Okay that is too cool! Thank you for sharing this fascinating tidbit and big congrats on your Very Good Day. :hugs:

Good morning!!

Sotd was chosen for a celebratory seminar today for Women’s acces to universities in Denmark 150 years ago. That is worth a parade. And some black and white contrasts.
Hermes parade held into place with a carefully attached brooch (needle long enough to go around the scarf - not through 😱)
View attachment 6192321 Wish you all a day of fanfares!
I am totally using this tie the next time I wear my Parade, @HermesEchidna. Looks so good with your black top too and the brooch as a counterweight.

Well our dear Scarf Mistress @Karenska was encouraging color pairings with black and I aim to please! Here is my new scarf mail-- I am so thrilled to have found this particular cw of Space Shopping au Faubourg. Recently I have found some of my wish list items not at the usual resellers but at vintage or antique shops. They do not have a great deal of inventory but occasionally luck and availability coincide at a fair price. My SOTD for meeting a dear friend of long years for lunch-- she is just off the plane from Paris and Florence and now here for her annual family reunion! I can't wait to hear all her news.
View attachment 6192526View attachment 6192535
And here are two recent mod shots also featuring black: I Like Flowers 70 with a eye-popping pink linen dress and a pretty turquoise Carrosserie on a black top. I know @Karenska is also a big fan of Ledoux!

Three super pretty looks, @LKBNOLA! I especially like your polka dots with space shopping and that scarf ring.

I will have to remember to stop to check for silky goodness the next time I'm in an antique store. A ring from my grandmother was the only jewelry heirloom left to pass down to me after my mother's collection was stolen when I was in college, and I'm always drawn straight to the jewelry displays there, wishfully hoping to find those long lost pieces again.

Hope you had a lovely time catching up with your dear friend.

Hello again,
Please excuse me for flooding you with a second post, but this morning was the ideal moment to introduce my 72 years old colourful French birds to their 10 years old black and white and somewhat stick-like Italian offsprings. 😂 And I promise you: no post tomorrow! 🫣View attachment 6192573View attachment 6192574

I didn’t know the theme, but I am on theme, yay. Wore an enhancer on a twilly today. I opened the box today thinking I bought a scarf ring. I was bummed there was no ring on the back, but it can still be used obviously, and fun.

I don’t know where to begin. I love everything in this post! The pink cles pareo is awesome. The best colors. Bright and pretty. And awesome tie and charm on your twilly. I must bookmark to do this in future. A very classic color combination in it. And the picnic scarf! This has me regretting not getting one. The colors are so bright and fun. And I LOVE the last cascading tie with it. Is it @Cookiefiend’s signature tie? I must remember this tie too ha. And well, c’mon, the earrings :woohoo::woot:. A must have with that silk

Aw, thank you so much! Yes a Cookie knot, or at least my fumbling approximation of one. I struggle learning and remembering knots, but when she shared hers -- I think it was during knot week? or was it the scarf tying thread -- she did such an amazing job describing it from start to finish that it made it into the vault somehow. :ghi5:

Hello Scarflandia! We have safely arrived at our east coast destination. The weather has moved on and it cool enough today for scarf wearing. I only have a limited number of scarves with me. I brought mainly the new ones which are itching to be worn. My SOTD is Le Livre d'Esope which is fairly high contrast for me. It even has black and white on it and I think contrasts well with my monochrome navy outfit.

View attachment 6193105
Congrats on your successful journey, @CoastalCouture. You always choose such elegant yet soothing color combos and this Le Livre d'Esope is perfect on you.

I hope your sweet four legged sidekick is resting comfortably at your destination. I have a special place in my heart for those silver muzzled pups; having an older dog is such a blessing. Our crested boy is 14 for a few more months, and we just lost our crested girl at 16 back in February.

Reminds me of this little wooden sign gifted by a friend, which I meant to share after a comment @LKBNOLA made about her beloved porties, but I managed to lose the quote before I could.

Good morning all, and happy Thursday. I often like to coordinate my scarves with a solid top and patterns in a skirt or pants. It allows for some pattern mixing with a little distance between the scarf and the pattern, which I like. Earlier this week we saw @darkstar's animal print look which I admired very much and I was inspired to share three combos-- all in blue. The first is my SOTD: Brides de Gala en Fleur with gingham
