So pretty-- like golden wheat, @AnnaE!
En Attendant Ulysse, inspired by Eastern European folklore and the motifs of traditional costumes, is my SOTD. In this cw in particular it has always reminded me of a tapestry of a folklore tale.

Quick snap on my commute - apologies for the bad lighting.

This is so beautifully folkloric in the red cw @GloWW0rM -- you look radiant.
Thank you so much for the link, @LKBNOLA . Although it is not the Nick Cave I thought it could be, this installation seems to be incredibly interesting - Soundsuits, how hilarious is this! Really would like to see/hear/feel this!
 you were thinking the singer @darkstar66? Yes it is so interesting to think of a soundsuit...
Gorgeous!!! Love the whole outfit @Croisette7!
Today I went with Costume de Fete as it was pointed out that intricate cultural garb certainly requires skilled hands!

Trying a new knot today, I think one of @GloWW0rM ’s but the tails got out of balance in this pic.

Oh, @Jereni, this looks marvelous with grey and I love th tie-- an inspired way to show the border and maybe out of balance is actually good here? Hmmm. It shows more detail this way!
Yes, the exceptional is so...exceptional, I love the leather accent, I've been drooling over it but it is offered at an impossible price...
The only time I visited New Orleans was February 2021 when the parade was canceled during the pandemic but the houses were all decorated. We had a wonderful time but I hope to make it back for the real deal one day!
I hope you will @FA73-- the house floats were lovely and so inspired as a way to honor Mardi Gras during a difficult time but there's nothing like the real deal!
I know this is not on theme but wanted to stop in a share my new-in L’Intrus. It is in like-new condition! Crisp with factory folds! My sweater/jumper is a heathered green although it might look gray here. The green IRL picks up the greens in the some of the feathers. Twins and sisters with many of you. Thank you to all who have inspired! This is my SOTD.

Congratulations @CedarWaxWing -- it is a beauty. Delighted you found one and happy to be sisters!
Reve D' Australie for a cold snowy day out! I remember my dad purchasing a piece of Aboriginal art during a trip to Australia, he had it hung on his office and I always marvelled at it. I'm not too sure where it went after he moved so I'm happy to have something in the motif. 😃

I just love this design... what a wonderful memory @mktlim!
That GT Fleurs et Papillons is a stunner on you, dear LKBNOLA ❤️. I love those baby blues!
SOTH Jaguar Quetzal and Les Artisans from the archives to stay on theme! Lots of artists painting and drawing on that scarf!!😍

Beautiful both @Helena7! (and thank you!)

Thank you @Maedi 😃 - I remember hearing about it as a child and Then researched it as an adult. Also Thanks for you wishes about my travel - the train horses could have been more clever, but if I do not include an hour of delay on a cold station in Osnabruck and a quite late arrival last evening, all was Good. I took the decision some years ago to only travel by train if it was even Remotely possible for the destination. And I like it - I must go and see about some train related scarves to supplement my treasured Merveilles de la Vapeur 😊
Wish you a wonderful Day!!
That’s so thoughtful and good to the environment. 😻

In Papua New Guinea, making a traditional headdress involves clever hands collecting feathers, combining them with animal bones, shells, and plant fibers, and arranging them in intricate patterns.

Beautiful, sister! Will have to remember this tie - it transforms the design. Thanks for the inspo!
SOTD was Trésors, which of course has already been noted to be on theme.

Great look. Love that lip colour, too.
oh yes I see it! I love wood carvings. And the blues in all this depth and shading is amazing.

:hbeat: Enablinggggggggg is strong with this one!
Great styling and great light today for you

Great post. Which cw do you have of tut, do you have a flat photo? I am always looking at this design but haven’t narrowed in on a color. And Japanese gardens are so tranquil and the work is really awe inspiring

I also would love to see the scarf flat when you have a chance @Lellabelle! You look lovely for your City sojourn and how amazing to have such a beautiful place to visit. I am a huge fan of urban greenspaces but this is like wandering into a woodcut print come to life! Thank you for sharing such beautiful serenity. :hugs:
Happy to oblige. I’m not sure what the CW is. I couldn’t find a lot of info online. I’m not sure if it’s a faded red, or saturated orange - condition is good, so I doubt it’s faded overmuch, but that’s always a possibility with an older silk. Pic is indoor lighting and it’s late here, so take that into account too.

I’ve been tempted by the black CW too, but my favourite feature is the twin Anubis figures in the corners, and they’re not as clear on the dark background. I’ve seen a blue that’s quite striking too, but I have Egypt in sky blue so it felt repetitive, even though the blues are different.
Loving the clever hand that penned the poem  and designed the scarf after it.
I felt moody today with All black. And this moody night sky cw fit the bill. Amazing how the back tail is the back side and still has lovely saturation. Love when that happens.
Totally enabled by our dear @Karenska with this cw. She has showcased it so well over time over the threads

Gorgeous!! I adore this CW with the plum and navy. Easy colours for me, but I never see this for sale 💜💙
I completely love hearing about your color journey! I love geeking out about this stuff. Your experience is making me muse on doing such an appt myself. I used to think I knew my colors but since starting to collect scarves, I’ve done a 180 on some colors in terms of what looks good on me and what doesn’t. Your yellow top looks like it will be a great workhorse!
I’ve experienced a similar thing. I think the way we style them can open up lots of unexpected possibilities.
A wonderful Japanese garden, Lellabelle!
Thank you!

Ooh, congratulations! It looks pristine and in such a rich blue, too. Love the birds and the pairing with the soft green is clever.

Good morning!!

We have had needlework and beads, patissementeries and leathers - but as it is Friday, let us Shake our tail feathers!

From headdresses of dancers from powwows to moulin rouge to Dream catchers and stolas, feathers have been used sans oiseaux to decorate jewelry, objects and garments.

Here are examples from the Artic, with feathers and porcupine quills

And I would be very much mistanken, if there are not more out there! - Danse Pacifique and Kermit Oliver has already made an appearance this week - show us more!!

And speaking of decorations for head and body - how about some different needlework ? - Maori tattoo inspired Kawa ora

Wish you a flying feathery Friday!

Well today I am inspired by scarf mail and by @Teaforparrots, who showed her very pretty sewing scissors earlier this week. Here is a new cw of Ors Bleu d'Afrique (earlier I posted my blue one). In this cw, the design reminds me of a clever tool used for edgework in sewing and also in paper cutting-- pinking shears!

This is a scarf first for me-- a final sale purchase at a big discount with no return option. But the only flaw are the wrinkles typical of anything that comes from this reseller so I made out pretty well!!!

Great theme choices! Coupons Indiens is such a wonderfully graphic scarf, I’ve never been able to figure out what cw of it I need. And love your FePdT shawl - you do the icy wintry look so well! I feel like your alter ego must be the Snow Queen. ❄️⛸️👑
My little granddaughter would love it if I had any Snow Queen attributes @Jereni  . She is devoted to the movie Frozen! Maybe that is my influence of late! I cycled though one other Coupons myself. A few years ago, they were hard to come by but I see more options pop up now and again. Perhaps we will see @Croisette7's beautiful cws (hint hint).
Thank you dear! ... I'm not familiar with that purple cw, I have a
white, rosé and a light blue one.
btw OT I found these RL boots in my closet, thinking of your Charleston boots.

I love your lovely Passementeries @Croisette7. This is the cw I am after-- it woud be perfect for Mardi Gras. Found it once and had to return because of condition...

Beautiful Pavement and I am admiring your styling again including the lipstick color.
Thank you @Maedi-- it is me being a Mad Lipstick Scientist again with a base of Rose Encens topped off with the Rouge Nappa you inspired me to buy!

Thank you @HermesEchidna-- I have been off your sub-themes each day but I will try to rustle (hehehe) up some feathers and "ink" from my archive pics. These are all wonderful -- especially your Kawa Ora -- so dramatic!
Hello and good morning,
So here is my Pavements. I adore mosaic! And I even managed to put on one of my "oeuvres" today! View attachment 6118111View attachment 6118112
It is beautiful @darkstar66! I have a similar (or perhaps even a twin blue) which is my first and most loved Pavement cw. This one truly truly shines and your sweater is just amazing as a background for it...
This early morning with Orto Botanico di Palermo
