Yes, the exceptional is so...exceptional, I love the leather accent, I've been drooling over it but it is offered at an impossible price...I do!!! It is on loan to my sister in New Orleans. We both think it is so perfectly reminiscent also of the beautiful hand sewn feather costumes worn by the famous "Mardi Gras Indians"! On Mardi Gras day I go and park my car early in the morning on Tchoupitoulas Street so I can see one of the Chiefs and his Lookout Boy parade by in lonely splendor...There was an exceptional of this in bleu canard with leather that I always loved so when I found the (non-exceptional) cw I pounced to add it.

You are so good with colors! Beautiful!
Thank you Nomad! Aren't we twins on the caramel one? What a collection of volant. Such details and awesome colors in them. That din is a gorgeous pink
Hi Anna. Such a pretty yellow. I don’t know this one and will look it up
Wow I love it on the green! And always love the smile
I never tire of seeing this one![]()
Congrats!! Lovely! - and on theme: a bird in the hand….I know this is not on theme but wanted to stop in a share my new-in L’Intrus. It is in like-new condition! Crisp with factory folds! My sweater/jumper is a heathered green although it might look gray here. The green IRL picks up the greens in the some of the feathers. Twins and sisters with many of you. Thank you to all who have inspired! This is my SOTD.

Thank you for posting Brandebourg Fleuri, your pics are much better than mine! Twins!A brandenbourg is the decoration for the chest of the uniform or other coats including the loop and button, also called a frog.

Military motives are normally not really my thing, but as many others in here I fell for the softer flowery Brandenbourg Fleuris by Caty Latham and Jeff Fisher - if just any military action could be made peacefull by adding some flowers in gunbarrels or on brandenbourgs.

Sweet dreams is so pretty and we’ll paired with your earring, dear Cookie.Travel day - so an archive picture of what could be ‘wood carving’ with Sweet Dreams (the creatures look like carvings to me?)

Twins, dear HermesEchidna. I love this on You.Good morning!!
Historically horses are often connected to the military, and so are uniforms. Many scarves show scenes of marches, parades and inspections with both horses and humans in their gala gear.
I dug myself into an internet Hole of researching what parts of uniforms are called in English. Please forgive me for any mistakes.
The trimmings on uniforms are often called passementeries or possements, from the words of passe and mano - items passed through hands. Perfect for the clever hands theme! Passementeries are decorative trimmings like braid, cord, beads for clothing like uniforms, for horses or for furniture. The parts of the uniforms which are placed on the shoulder and often shows the military rank is called Epaulettes and are often adorned with fringes, rosettes and other decor.
The obvious scarf for this part of handicraft is The design Passementerie by Francoise Heron - screenshot, from the web, not my own scarf.

Same goes for Epaulette de Gala (artist unknown, screenshot from H website)

Thanks, dear LKBNOLA, Jereni, PoliticalGal, Nomad, LellabelleI completely love hearing about your color journey! I love geeking out about this stuff. Your experience is making me muse on doing such an appt myself. I used to think I knew my colors but since starting to collect scarves, I’ve done a 180 on some colors in terms of what looks good on me and what doesn’t. Your yellow top looks like it will be a great workhorse!
Juuuust glorious. And how inspired to wear it with the navy top - they look great together.
Great theme choices! Coupons Indiens is such a wonderfully graphic scarf, I’ve never been able to figure out what cw of it I need. And love your FePdT shawl - you do the icy wintry look so well! I feel like your alter ego must be the Snow Queen. ❄️⛸️👑
I have been hemming and hawing FOREVER on which cw of Sweet Dreams I might want and I think you have just sold me on this one. Stunning!
Soooo pretty! Love the dreamy dark tones of this. This is the shawl right?
What an interesting post, thank you for sharing! I did not think about EdG for this weeks theme but it’s a good one. Sisters on Brandebourgs.
Gorgeous scarf but oh my word what an amazing pin!!!
Lovin all the Coeur de La Vie shares this week! The blues on this are spectacular and I also echo that the jewelry pairing is excellent!
Beautiful with the blue border @Redbirdhermes! I became familiar with this design through a scarfie friend. The details are amazing!
I love this idea of a continuum from "fine" to "best" to "bestest" for our colors @Nomad!!! Forget the seasons, this is the rubric I am going for!!!
It looks wonderful on you! And echoing @Nomad with appreciation for the amazing light in your photo, although it lightens the scarf, it absolutely flatters you to pieces! Twins on this but on me it looks so much darker...
I also would love to see the scarf flat when you have a chance @Lellabelle! You look lovely for your City sojourn and how amazing to have such a beautiful place to visit. I am a huge fan of urban greenspaces but this is like wandering into a woodcut print come to life! Thank you for sharing such beautiful serenity.
Oh my! I have always loved this on @Karenska and @Pirula and now I have to bookmark this photo as well!!!! What a beautiful cw on you @Nomad!!! I have not yet collected this ina 90 and now I may have been "scarfluenced" right over the edge...

Thank you for another informative post! Your Tohu Bohu with the brooch is wonderful @HermesEchidna and I often feel a little "tohu-va-bohu" or helter-skelter when I return from travel so maybe it echoes a mood for you too! Limitless pre-creativity also can be called simply "chaos"
This is such an unexpectedly lovely design @amdmarques -- sisters!!! The Clever Hands or Hans theme is infinitely stretch-able I think!
It is a design that is not only beautiful but captures the imagination too @darkstar66!
I hope you are safe dear @Helena7! And I hope the stress abates for you. Can't wait to see your new ins. These look amazing with your stunning jewelry... 🧡
Thank you @PoliticalGal -- I love this cw because it truly honors the design but I also love the graphics and just found a "bargoon" in a neutral cw which should be coming soon. I definitely want to reach for this design more!
Well, I have @monteverdi to thank for inspiration on this combination of colors. I am over the moon to have found it! Thank you @Nomad!
Well I could not love this more! I was on the hunt for this ever since I saw it on you and finally!!! Thank you @Redbirdhermes-- it is just as marvelous as I hoped. Loving it on white with the red cardi (style idea 💡).
Yes, dear Nomad. Do you think I could be spring, too, like you?I am so glad you brought yours out. It is amazing on you and love it with your jewelry.
Honestly I think this design is the best floral in H archives. It is stunning, and detailed beyond others. I’ll have to flip through the carre book to confirm my thought, but I love it more than jardin anglais even.
Thank you 🥰The pairing with your jewelry is stunning!
Thank you, dear LellabellePerfect outfit for Mille - it looks so pearlescent!
The Arabesques is beautiful (I’ve eyed that very CW more than once!) but oh, that Arbre du vent in purple and turquoiseI have a beautiful non-H silk that fills that colour niche for me, but it’s still so tempting.
Lol, too funny! You look super.
Well, there is clearly a space in the wardrobe for this yellow top - it pairs beautifully with each of these. The coeur is fantastic on you! I love it with the blue on you, it pulls it back into familiar territory, but keeps that brightening effect 😁. Like a tropical oasis 👍
Where did you land in the colour season analysis? I am enjoying your voyage of discovery!
Beautiful on you, @Maedi 💚. You’re inspiring me to pull mine out of the closet!
Wow, this is gorgeous in mousseline format. That red is so saturated, given the delicacy of the fabric.
What a lovely colour for this classic!
That GT Fleurs et Papillons is a stunner on you, dear LKBNOLA ❤️. I love those baby blues!I am going for clever hands working on textiles this morning! Several from the archives:
Coupons Indiens; Ors Bleu d'Afrique and Dans Pacifique

And my SOTD is my recent Fleurs et Papillons de Tissus GT, which made its debut over the holidays! From the Scarf Story:
In 2013, Christine Henry drew on the unique heritage found in the collections of the Lyon Museum of Fabrics and Decorative Arts for the design of her giant triangle scarf. The inspirations are manifold: Coptic tapestries, Ottoman fabrics from the sixteenth century, Lyon silks, 18th-century Indian fabrics or Japanese kimonos brought together in a pattern that resembles a meadow of flowers.

So happy to be twins with you, dear MaediSOTD is Mountain Zebra, off topic and perhaps a little too spring like. A subconscious desire for flowers and color 😀.

Very serene and yet gorgeously rustic winter look! I like your necklace a lot with it.
Aw thank you! I was excited to discover a scarf that looks good with this sweater as I hadn’t found a combo that made me happy yet. And have been beginning to conclude that pale green may not be my best color.
Quintessential theme choice, love it! The jewel tones with that red top are soooo perfect.
Both look great - I esp admire the pairing of Mille with that textured blazer. And +1 to gardens requiring crafty hands!
Gorgeous, twin!
Aaaah that Arabesque. I’m hoping this will be the year I find that one. Love your Guillaume also.
Very beautifully tied, twin!!! I love the new scarf ring.
Thank you, Nomad 🥰🙌I have no idea how I missed this. Oh my! This is so awesome. You did so well this year. I love love love seeing all the eye candy and reading about your excitement. These are all grails and gorgeous and just wow wow wowCongrats! I will say this makes me feel better for my exuberant year too. Every year I put the years acquisitions onto a collage page. It helps me understand my spending. 2024 was a nuts year for me for sure. So perhaps 2024 was a year of lots of inventory. So happy you shared
So pretty with your butterfly scarf ring, dear Croisette. Sisters on both. I love le Jaguar cw on You.Two scarves, one from last week and my SOTD, I actually managed to get photos from. Including the little papillon scarf ring on its first outing.
Le Jaguar et le Colibri and Into the Canadian Wild.

Beautiful and beautifully tied, SilkCouture🤗🙌This was my last purchase from FSH in December 2024. From SS2025, a design that’s new to me and perhaps new to many of you—Thalassa! Seeing Croisette’s pink Thalassa and how beautifully it ties, I didn’t have to think twice—though I’m still eyeing Croisette’s for backup! 😉

Gorgeous on you, dear JereniToday I went with Costume de Fete as it was pointed out that intricate cultural garb certainly requires skilled hands!
Trying a new knot today, I think one of @GloWW0rM ’s but the tails got out of balance in this pic.

Wow!! I love it!!!❤️ Especially with that top.
You look stunning, dear GloWWorM ❤️🙌En Attendant Ulysse, inspired by Eastern European folklore and the motifs of traditional costumes, is my SOTD. In this cw in particular it has always reminded me of a tapestry of a folklore tale.
Quick snap on my commute - apologies for the bad lighting.
