Dear @Redbirdhermes thank you for sharing moose memories! And for showing that great green pytheas - there are so many creatures in this design 🤩I hope you see your moose, @HermesEchidna. Many years ago when our children were younger, we vacationed on Isle Royale in Lake Superior. This isolated island is known for its wolves and moose, which are part of the longest running predator-prey study in the world. We stayed at the then only lodge on the island, and since it was late in the season, our kids were the only children on the island. My son’s desire to spot a moose quickly became common knowledge, and he would be stopped by everyone we crossed paths with and asked if he had spotted his moose yet. We saw plenty of scat on our hikes, but no moose.
On one of our last days we took a boat tour around the island and finally glimpsed a moose standing on shore some distance away. Hurrah! For me the highlight of the trip was hearing a talk by the great naturalist Rolf Peterson himself, who has spent his entire career studying the Isle Royale wolves. We lucked out because all of the college kids who give the talks during the season had headed back to school.
My scarf of the day is Le Voyage de Pytheas. I’m sure the sailors spotted plenty of critters during their trip, if only at times standing on a distant shore.

Nice to see you @Karenska! I hope real life allows you to rejoin us here soon!Thank you for this wonderful introduction, dear HE. One of the main reasons why I love our treasured scarves is the abundance of floral and fauna found in many designs, especially, as you point out, those of Kermit Oliver, Robert Dallet and Alice Shirley. Dipping my toes in as personal commitments have kept me offline.
Jungle Love by Dallet - so many creatures grace these “lovecats”.

Seriously - I love it so much.

There are some very pretty cws of this @EtsyBoss. Do you wear the 70 size much? This is a nice one!Mind blown that there is a scarf for just dragonflies! Such beautiful colors in yours. I very much like the etoupe hem too. I may have to look this one up!
Nice to see you back @violetkool! I have missed your creative twilly styling here.I'm not sure where the days have gone to recently - how is it April?! Anyway, I shall not dwell on pages missed, but simply share my twilly necklace of the day.

Beautiful colors and you always style your scarves so beautifully @FA73. Thank you for sharing the scarf story-- I have not collected this design so I was unaware! I would definitely prefer to be on Team Celestial Reinforcements myself and I am wondering about that "Fish-Tailed Evil"-- sounds like a worthy opponent 😨@HermesEchidna, I love your informative and fun introductions! I will also go spineless today.
Like you @LKBNOLA, I truly enjoy reading and collecting the stories behind each scarf (I might actually contact you to see if by chance you have a couple I am missing in your files).
For this one, Légende Kuna, I have not been able to find an English version, but here is the translation of the French:
"In the Gulf of San Blas, near the Atlantic coast of Panama, where the ghosts of buccaneers roam, is the coral archipelago of the Mulatas. The Kuna Indians sew fabrics (molas) that combine dream and myth. This one tells the story of the sun's struggle against the fish-tailed evil. If the sun finally triumphs, it's thanks to celestial reinforcements: the hummingbird, the rooster, the wasp and even the winged jaguar".
I had no idea I was walking around with a swarm of wasps (attacking a fish-tailed evil) around my neck!

That Salt Marsh art style is a really unique one! Wonderfully relaxed, if that makes sense.
But, I just loooooove that Dragonflies piece. I’m not normally drawn to pale pinks but I might need this.
Thank you for your comments @Jereni. I think this dragonflies would look great on you-- definitely leans peach/melon in the pink family! Your Premier Chant is such a pretty cw and looks great with your outfit.Fun critters on Le Premier Chant! Including a bunny. And butterflies, so maybe I am on-sub-theme.

I am quite certain that your performance as Grass was absolutely memorable to all who were fortunate to attend that theatrical event @CedarWaxWing! You made me giggle with your story. This is a true beauty and inspired to pair it with the two greens in your tops. This was my first ACdelaV as well-- inspired by @Cookiefiend, in fact!Joining the Au Coeur de la Vie crowd by debuting my new-to-me black and green version and my only colorway of this design, so far. (It is also just back from a refresh and stain removal at Tiecrafters.)
Layers and layers of green - all the better to provide cover for the charming little creatures. 🐒🦡🦦🦔🐿️
If I had weighed in on last week’s theme, I would have shown this and a few of my other green scarves as a favorite color. In 3rd grade, my teacher, Mrs. Rueger, tapped me to play the very exciting part of grass in our class play. I was underwhelmed by the role, covered in streams of Kelly green crepe paper. 🫤 And she kept exclaiming, “I can’t believe how good you look in GREEN!” Perhaps she meant to assuage my dubiousness about it all. But underneath, I hoped she was right. Maybe green was a good color on me! 🧐☺️🤣 I do like to wear it, regardless.

Beautiful, dear twin.
I wouldn’t part with this scarf either. It’s a beauty and I think @Living.la.vida.fifi has it, too. The kingfisher as focus of the knot is lovely.Hello dear scarfies,
My scarf with the most insects is La Vie au grand Air. It is old and battered and has some stains which will never part but I love it deeply. Although it is not a popular scarf, it is very special in its naturalism. The birds all have a blanc matte overlay which turn their plumage opalescent and produce a three dimensional effect. View attachment 6155970View attachment 6155972View attachment 6155973The insects have small touches of this overlay as well and look so real that they make me itch.
