@HermesEchidna, I love your informative and fun introductions! I will also go spineless today.

Like you @LKBNOLA, I truly enjoy reading and collecting the stories behind each scarf (I might actually contact you to see if by chance you have a couple I am missing in your files).

For this one, Légende Kuna, I have not been able to find an English version, but here is the translation of the French:
"In the Gulf of San Blas, near the Atlantic coast of Panama, where the ghosts of buccaneers roam, is the coral archipelago of the Mulatas. The Kuna Indians sew fabrics (molas) that combine dream and myth. This one tells the story of the sun's struggle against the fish-tailed evil. If the sun finally triumphs, it's thanks to celestial reinforcements: the hummingbird, the rooster, the wasp and even the winged jaguar".

I had no idea I was walking around with a swarm of wasps (attacking a fish-tailed evil) around my neck!

Joining the Au Coeur de la Vie crowd by debuting my new-to-me black and green version and my only colorway of this design, so far. (It is also just back from a refresh and stain removal at Tiecrafters.)

Layers and layers of green - all the better to provide cover for the charming little creatures. 🐒🦡🦦🦔🐿️

If I had weighed in on last week’s theme, I would have shown this and a few of my other green scarves as a favorite color. In 3rd grade, my teacher, Mrs. Rueger, tapped me to play the very exciting part of grass in our class play. I was underwhelmed by the role, covered in streams of Kelly green crepe paper. 🫤 And she kept exclaiming, “I can’t believe how good you look in GREEN!” Perhaps she meant to assuage my dubiousness about it all. But underneath, I hoped she was right. Maybe green was a good color on me! 🧐☺️🤣 I do like to wear it, regardless.

Thank you for this wonderful introduction, dear HE. One of the main reasons why I love our treasured scarves is the abundance of floral and fauna found in many designs, especially, as you point out, those of Kermit Oliver, Robert Dallet and Alice Shirley. Dipping my toes in as personal commitments have kept me offline.
Jungle Love by Dallet - so many creatures grace these “lovecats”.

Good morning!!

Today I would like to look at Corners and borders!

The original inspiration for this theme was my amusement of the corner critters of several Dallet designs. I love how the main caracters, often Big cats, are surrounded by other wildlife running around in the corners or even being a part of the border.

Sometime there are good reasons for their escapes as in tendresse felines, where they are chased by the kittens, in other designs they are just being playful.

Of course this has a lot of overlap with the last days focus on cuties and bugs, as it is often the tiny ones Living at the edge, but other favourite ones are the ermine(?) on Legende brodere and the red pandas of Sichuan.

In other examples the animals themselves create the border or pattern in the scarf as the zebras on Tropiques or the bees in object de curiosites which many of you has already delighted us with this week

IMG_0287.webp
IMG_0344.webp
And sometimes there is just that single critter in the corner which make you want to tie to showcase it - as the flying fish in Sur mon nuage
IMG_9902.webp
Or my newly arrived Hermes story, which I have yet to learn how to tie

Finally my sotd (yes I am home with my collection again 😊) which @Cookiefiend and others have already pointed to - the ultimate Hermes border on Tous les bateaux du monde

Wish you all a terrific Thursday!!

Thank you for sharing so many details and your appreciation for this design. It caught my eye when I first saw one on this thread some years ago and is one I've longed to add. Knowing the overlay for the feathers adds dimensionality just makes the longing even more. And the kingfisher.... a very special scarf indeed. Thank you for sharing your beauty @darkstar66 !
I'm sure you will find one. As I said, this is not a popular design and prices are low. I bought mine for 160 Euro, but it is not spotless.

Surely there are bugs among the flowers in SOYD. But for good measure I’ll include a bonus creature shot. DH was so quick and clever - upon seeing Orky on the rebounder, he said “l’il tramp” 😂View attachment 6156105View attachment 6156106
So lovely ... both of you, Tea!
Oh how I absolutely love your matching scarves and pins 🤩🤩 - thank you for sharing them!!!
Thank you, HE!

Love this in black, CedarWaxWing!
Your scarf/brooch combos are just wonderful @Croisette7-- whimsical and beautiful. I keep looking from scarf to brooch and back again! An amazing collection. I love the Ladybug (reminds me of the nursery rhyme  🐞) scarf and pin and your bright green Dragonflies, too! Happy to be sisters on that one.

Nice to see you @Karenska! I hope real life allows you to rejoin us here soon!

Great finds for the theme @Redbirdhermes -- I didn't even think of this border, so thank you!

You've highlighted my favorite kooky bugs on this beloved design @Cookiefiend. Definitely a favorite for me too. I was about to break out my blue one for this week, too! This bright cw is just so happy!

You look great and your kitty looks poised for action @Teaforparrots!

A perfect look with striped @Jacq1 -- great details too!

There are some very pretty cws of this @EtsyBoss. Do you wear the 70 size much? This is a nice one!

Nice to see you back @violetkool! I have missed your creative twilly styling here.

Beautiful colors and you always style your scarves so beautifully @FA73. Thank you for sharing the scarf story-- I have not collected this design so I was unaware! I would definitely prefer to be on Team Celestial Reinforcements myself and I am wondering about that "Fish-Tailed Evil"-- sounds like a worthy opponent 😨

Thank you for your comments @Jereni. I think this dragonflies would look great on you-- definitely leans peach/melon in the pink family! Your Premier Chant is such a pretty cw and looks great with your outfit.

I am quite certain that your performance as Grass was absolutely memorable to all who were fortunate to attend that theatrical event @CedarWaxWing! You made me giggle with your story. This is a true beauty and inspired to pair it with the two greens in your tops. This was my first ACdelaV as well-- inspired by @Cookiefiend, in fact!
Many thanks, dear LKB!
These colors are amazing. A masterpiece.

Beautiful, dear twin.
Thank you so much, Maedi!
Hello and good morning,
I'm travelling today and brought my Jardins de Soie along. It's still very chilly in the morning, the difference in temperature during the day is about 18° C. The nice and whimsical creatures are keeping me warm.View attachment 6156376View attachment 6156377View attachment 6156378View attachment 6156379View attachment 6156380View attachment 6156381

Thank you @HermesEcidna and welcome home! My bees have already made an appearance this week (my favorite border for the humor of it) and I did not know about the little guy on Legende Brodee (sisters) so thank you for the close observations-- always so fun. Lovely Bateaux-- I do remember your pink one. Best border ever-- anmals or no, IMO.
