Beautiful choice to welcome the new year and you’re really selling me on trying that scarf ring!I will revert back to Oscarf Mode by tomorrow but just popping in to thank the Scarf Mistresses and this whole community for another wonderful year of friendship, fun, beauty, companionship and interesting information relating not only to our passion for silks but just generally speaking-- I cannot express how much I appreciate this thread and each and every one of you. May 2025 bring peace, happiness, good health and of course, a wonderful continuation of each of our scarf journeys.
Going full on bright for a casual celebration this evening!

Happy New Year dear Scarfies!!!
I adore the fuchsia with the tomato red sweater.I’m having trouble picking favorites… 2024 was the year I really slid/jumped down the CSGM slide.
Will discuss those later!
But, I also found some lovely moussies!
So the Oscarf for Best Green Changeant goes to Tourbillons (really it’s so green, but sometimes the fuchsia gets bossy)

The Oscarf for Moussie in a Punch You in the Face Color goes to Urashima Taro in Rose VIF and fuchsia - really this color!!

Happy New Year dear Scarfies!!!
What a wonderful color - congratulations!I struggle participating this week although I adore the theme and everyone’s selections and contributions. It’s hard for me to pick the one of the year but I will try.
This one was a late addition, sold out on US .com, overpriced and in limited color selections at the usual sites. When traveling over the summer, I was able to have it sent to me from the Euro .com site. Douze Léopards df in a ten minute window of sun rays.

Happy New Year dear Scarfies!!!
That Tulipomanie is stunning on you, dear Redheaddem. Hope you find the perfect cw of L’Orphee for you, too.🙌🌷I have a special fondness for floral designs and cashmere shawls.
The Oscarf for Best Floral of 2024 goes to Tulipomanie giant triangle 🎉🥳🌷
It is a design that many seemed to love this year.
I also nominate mine for most debated colourway for me 😋but I am so happy I finally settled for this monochrome version.
Unfortunately it also wins the Oscarf for the shawl I managed to snag the first time I wore it outside 🥲 but I hope to be able to fix it soon.

What a great selection, HermesEchidnaGood evening!!
This year have been a year of many attempts to not add scarves to the collection - all of Them has been remarkably unsuccesful. It seems like all the designs I have been looking for for years decided to just waltz by and tempt me in 2024.
A few of the nominees for personal grail of the year are
Voyages de Pytheas, Shackleton and Cosmographia universalis. I might have reached my quota of fantastic pink worlds

My sotd was Mystere au 24 - one of the few I picked up from the store this year besides the avalanche of preloved treasure hunting.
View attachment 6109060
I wore it to meet a friend to have a last minute peek at the H store today.
The result: I Can now definitively point to the winner of My Last Scarf of the Year.
Heavily inspired by many of you and with a sigh of relief of the background color being silvery and not white, I brought home Emile et une nuit. Really no one would have believed I could resist those lovely creatures and colors…

Yes, it's Les Renards.
View attachment 6108815
I've wanted this since I first saw it way back at the start of my orange journey. And that first one I encountered was a special edition priced at $6kSubsequent encounters with this elusive beauty were always fleeting, until this year when a friendly seller offered it to me at a non-heart-attack-inducing price
Congrats, Les Renards, you win the Oscarf for Longest Hunt
The second award for Most Pleasant Surprise goes to Les Jardins d'Armenie. Karen Petrossian did 2 designs to celebrate Armenian culture. I really liked both. Lettres d'Erevan is a CSGM, so it was on the maybe list (tropical weather limit on any greed for cashmere). So I decided several years ago to get the 90 Les Jardins. I hit a roadblock for 2 reasons: I'm not a big fan of tiny florals and have skipped several wonderful designs because of this personal preference. Second reason is that the ones in good condition and acceptable price point were not in cws I liked. I finally sprung for the pink, although it looked kind of dull in the seller's photos. I was Most Pleasantly Surprised when a vibrant candy pink arrived!
View attachment 6108813
Honest admission: I still want Lettres, so if ever that lands in my hands, it would be Oscarf-worthy too!
My third award is the Take A Chance on Me Oscarf which goes to the work of another Karen: L'Arbre de Vie by Karen Swildens. Yes, not the L'Arbre of the same name by Christine Henry. I saw it on a reseller site a few years back and was assured that it wasn't some knock-off design. It was, however, the pics were bad, the price was too high to risk it and I wasn't enamoured enough to risk it. I picked it up this year and I'm delighted. @marietouchet identified thus as a Scandinavian Tree of Life. I haven't had the time yet, but I'm definitely going to delve into the folklore behind this.

Start handing out the awards, everyone! It's time for a lookback. In a year when RL has been less than peaceful, take joy in the little things of life. The Carpe Diem award, anyone?
So pretty, Redbird. I didn’t even see Le Livre and I’ve been scrolling almost daily on H website 🤣🤣Welcome @Cookiefiend as host of the Oscarfs. [Correction: @xincinsin is actually hosting.]
I'm starting with the Most Colorful category.
Nominees for Colorful Scarves which entered the collection during 2024 include:
Kawa Ora

So pretty, PoliticalGalI hope you all are having a happy holiday season! Too many beautiful pictures to comment on, but I have loved seeing all of your festive scarf looks. I’m wearing one of my favorite shawls of all time today - Tous Les Bateaux du Monde. I would love to have it in a second colorway but it almost never seems to come up on the resale market. Pics don’t do it justice, the pale green boats practically glow.

sisters, dear Croisette. I have a pink one. I love how you styled it🙌🌷🌷🌷
Thank you so much. ❤️ Have missed you here. You shine in these colours, Congratulations acquiring this cute.![]()
Congratulations on a very successful 2024. Beautiful acquisitions all. Happy New Year!2024 didn’t have much scarf wearing for me, but plenty of scarf acquisition. Not sure such a good thing honestly. We need a running wallet action emoji on here ha. So I am going to reel it in for 2025, that’s my resolution!
As I always do at the end of the year with my scarves, I put all my 2024 new-in pictures together onto a digital sheet..ahmmm sheetS plural. Like @HermesEchidna said similarly in her post..older scarves I was hunting just kept showing up this year when previously never saw any. Sorry if I am inaccurate echidna since not copy/pasting. Man is that ever true for 2024! They kept showing up online and multiplying like rabbits in my scarf drawer
My Oscarf for The Longest Hunted acquisitions of 2024 is a 1/2/3 (plural) award I am going to lay down.
I first saw the 90 jardin de la maharani on @Pirula in March of 2021 and have been hunting for it ever since. I also saw it in csgm on our dear @Thelittlefoxes in the same colorway in 2020/2021, but didn’t see the 90 yet until pirula.
View attachment 6109808
The other longest hunted for design I found in 2024 is Mozart in the light pink and gray. I first saw it on our @momasaurus in June 2021 and fell so hard for it, like a personal grail hard, and hunted ever since. I tried and returned several other colorways, but my heart was with the pink.
View attachment 6109809
And the third longest hunted I found this year is a Au Bout du Monde. I was hunting for the red purple cw since seeing it on @Cookiefiend in 2019 I think, and then @blydia in 2020/2021. But I added the moody teals colorway to my hunt after seeing it on @LKBNOLA and another scarfie I am blanking on right now. This past Autumn a lovely scarfie pointed me to the teal cw being online and I snatched it right up. So thrilled to have this one FINALLY. So moody and I love the color blocks.

Fantastic category and fantastic scarves @Redbirdhermes -- a true collecting achievement that deserves an Oscarf of its own!On this last day of the year, I am taking a long look back at the scarves that were issued last century that were added to the collection during 2024.
Oscarf nominees for the Best of the 20th Century include:
Mont Sainct Michel - 1947

A great line-up for your Oscarfs @Jereni! And huge congratulations on scoring your Holy Grail Acte III just under the wire!!! What a way to ring in the New Year! May 2025 bring you even more lucky finds!Today I will go with various ‘grail’ Oscarfs:
Winner of Best Mini Grail goes to Minuit au Faubourg. These colors are my absolute DREAM.
View attachment 6109549
Best ‘Patience is a Virtue’ Grail goes to Jaguar Quetzal. I stalked this for awhile from a reputable eBay seller but it had a prominent mark on it and I just didn’t want to pay anywhere close to retail for that. And eventually it popped up on TRR for less and with no imperfections, yay!
View attachment 6109550
Most Nerve-wracking Grail Acquisition is awarded to my long coveted Acte III 90. Hadn’t seen this anywhere for months, nabbed it for under retail on Vestiaire, it arrived in a rainstorm while I was on travel and I had to coordinate with my dad (from Budapest no less) to come over and open it and air it out so it wasn’t ruined. Phew!
View attachment 6109552
Most Unexpected Holy Grail goes to … Maîtres de la Foret, which I’d given up on ever finding, but was tipped off to by a lovely TPF-er and now this beauty is mine!!!
View attachment 6109554
Gorgeous!!! I am so delighted you found this @redheaddem-- it needs an Oscarf Category of "Made for You" because it owuld win hands down! And thank you for posting the painting-- wht a dream to see it! Happy New Year and happy collecting in 2025!In 2024, I only bought one CSGM, but it was a long sought after design and cw. This was the shawl that made me discover Hermès shawls and scarves. I saw a photo of it online by chance somewhere, did my research and discovered the world of Hermès 😋 Unfortunately, it was already sold out everywhere at the time. I was thrilled when I found it this fall on the aftermarket in really good condition and for a reasonable price too.
So the Oscarf for favourite CSGM for 2024 goes to my coral Faubourg Tropical 🧡❤️🎉
I have been wearing it today and also earlier this week, on a city trip to The Hague, were I finally saw The girl with the pearl earring by Vermeer.
I wish you all a very happy New Years Eve dear scarfies, and al the happiness in the world for 2025 ❤️

All three are amazing @mktlim and would be the envy of any collector!!! What a gorgeous year you've had! I am thrilled to be twins, but I am still hunting for my perfect Soiree de Gala-- how amazing to find an original issue! And as for your PdS, nothing but stars and gold statues for that beauty! This has been quite a year for scarf acquisitions for me as well! This is the first part of my scarf awards.
Most travelled scarf: ELEK - went home to the Philippines with me and on my Japan trip, sadly never got to use it but it's got the most "miles" in terms of travel!

Oldest scarf (literally!): La Soiree a l'Opera - Soirée de Gala - I've been hunting for birth year scarves for each of my family members and found this 1950 original issue in mint condition!

SOTD wins for ultimate grail, didn't expect to find it at all and in mint condition (although the price was way over retail). I'm so thrilled to finally have it! Parures de Samourais in the CW I've been dying to own!

I always love seeing your mod shots, stylings, scarf choices and more than anything, your thoughtful insights and comments on the collecting process as well as individual artists and designs. Au Bout du Monde is especially stunning and I totally understand the obsessive hunt a "personal grail" can lead to...I am so happy for oyu that Mozart finally came your way...2024 didn’t have much scarf wearing for me, but plenty of scarf acquisition.
