Well, I am out of bed and celebrating with an inaugural wearing of a Point d’orgue CSGM that found its way to me last summer, and has not yet had an outing. It‘s just the cosy pop of lively contrasts I needed. Excuse the wrinkles: this navy shirt is looser than I remember and I‘m still in pj’s and slippers out of the frame! This really needs a red lip I think, and I have a blazer in a similar shade of red that I think would work too. Another day… ;)

This is beautiful on you! Hope you are felling better soon!

Thank you @Thelittlefoxes, @Snausages, @Living.la.vida.fifi, and @LKBNOLA for your kind compliments and for everyone’s likes/loves to my first scarf selfie post. I really appreciate it and feel encouraged, so here’s today’s SOTD. I was inspired by, okay, I shamelessly copied, dear @HermesHope blue-grey combo. View attachment 5684871View attachment 5684872
I love the way this ties!!!

I love this CW for the little bits of rose. But I understand your search for alternatives! I have a few others. Maybe these pix will help: (I CLICKED THUMBNAIL - WHY ARE THE PIX SO BIG - SORRY!)

I will admit moma that I have screenshots of you in this design saved in my wishlist file hahaha. Your burgundy and your purple/green have been my top cw‘s I have hunted for since I first saw you in them. I believe I have a screenshot of all of yours folded and lined up too from multiples week maybe  . And @LKBNOLA is right ( obviously) that it can be tough to tell your deeper cw from hers. It is such an amazing design in so many great colors as you have shown.

“Should I Stay or Should I Go” is a wonderful theme song, @Coco2606 . Thank you for sharing. It nicely sums up my dilemma today.

It was two years ago, as I was sitting on a cold winter’s day in my lake cabin looking out at our lake all covered with ice fishing huts, that I found that La Vie du Grand Nord actually has ice fishermen on the scarf. I presume this is a unique feature to this particular Hermès design, as ice fishing is uncommon in most parts of the world. Anyway, I found and ordered this brown colorway on the spot.

Now, the brown colorway is not a favorite so I’m thinking of putting this scarf into the CCP. But first, I did a little research into what colors are available. I discovered a thread from 2010 devoted to this design, and it was so fun to read all the excited comments as various colorways appeared in boutiques around the world. It seems that the purple was a particular favorite, but the brown was beloved as well as it shows the animals in their more natural colors.

My resolution is to hunt for another colorway of La Vie du Grand Nord this year. Should the brown stay or should it go? I think I’ll have to wait and see.

La Vie du Grand Nord is my Scarf of the Day. This scarf about Life in the North is especially appropriate as we dig out of fifteen inches of snow today.

I gasped when I saw this scarf. It’s enchanting! I vote keep because I too would take this is any colourway I could find.

Yes on the gav/twilly habit  and I did not realize BC came in a gav! Excellent FEP - the carre is a beauty and the hem is fabulous
Thank you @Snausages! Here is one my gavs, but The Librain has them all on her blog (thank you @HermesHope!).

Honestly - it is the cw - it's gorgeous.
Thank you @Cookiefiend-- glad to have both then!
One good thing that has come from this week of resolutions is tracking. I have been resistant to it for almost 10 years now... (Mr Bcat will confirm I am really that stubborn) But after several of you mentioned it this week I decided to give it a go. So I made a list and had so much fun, I went back through 2 years of SOTD pics to see how consistent I am, instead of just 2022 as I had intended. I was surprised to find my wearing of 90cm scarves so consistent in both 2021 and 2022, and also my wearing of large formats and cashmere. So I set up another round to track 2023.

Yesterday, I managed a legit 2 scarf day. I wore Sweet Dreams 100cm when I went out walking in the cool morning. But I had to make beads and complete a special order yesterday, so I had to change to work clothes for awhile. Then later, I didn't feel like unboxing the wool again, so I opted for a throw and go Brazil giant DD to keep me snuggly in the afternoon and evening.

Also, I did not wear black yesterday. Win!!!

Congratulations @Lellabelle! It is beautiful-- my favorite styling is the red blazer but it will be great with so much, including that beautiful pale blue ...

This is one of my favorite cws of Kawa Ora @Nhare and you have tied it so nicely -- perfect with grey. It is similar to a De la Mer au Ciel that I like to pair with grey also. Lovely looks!

My maroon one is actually @momasaurus' twin @Nomad! I was on the same hunt as you probably but I wanted to add that one to the pale blue I already had. So very happy that I found it-- this design is one to have in multiples as Momasaurus has shown... You have to look at the leaves and the details very closely!

Here you go! I also tried it with a new navy blazer, which works really well too. I think I prefer the red, but here’s both options for you:

Resolution number 6: Work (a little) and learn (a lot).

This forum is incredible in its kindness and richness of exchange. I never imagined that it would be such a mine of good ideas, as much for clothing and jewellery combinations as for knotting. So here is a nice goal for 2023, to feed myself with your magnificent publications to really highlight the potential of scarves (and indirectly the coat rack).
Thank you again!
SOTD Selle de dignitaire first tied any way and then a little improved. I still have a long way to go but I will find some exceptional masters here !

@Coco2606 love orange and grey together and both knots are lovely!
Thank you, @momasaurus , for that jaw dropping parade of gorgeous La Vie du Grand Nord scarves. Proof that I should not stop with just one colorway. Simply stunning.

I have been inspired by our dear @Cookiefiend to get a few more mousseline scarves. (Thank you, Cookie.) Three 140s entered the collection during 2022: Les Leopards, Etude Pour un Iris-Arc en Ciel, and Brides Rebelles.

My New Year’s resolution is to wear and enjoy my moussies, remembering that they aren’t just for summer.

My Scarf of the Day is Brides Rebelles mousseline.

Moussies are deceptively warm - thank you @Redbirdhermes for the reminder!
