Dear all
I am in the kitchen the entire day, and will not get to wear more scarfs this year. But I look forward to the next and to share my Oscarfs nominees with you in early 2024.

For now I just want to Thank you all for 2023 and to wish you all a happy new year, a festive night of celebration and cheers.

May your silks never wrinkle, May your troubles be as rare as Homage du Shakcleton, May your scarf drawers be forever brimming and May your happy moments be plentiful as versions of BdG !!!
:drinks:
A lovely sentiment! Happy new year to you too!!

Happy New Year's Eve to Everyone! Winter has finally come to the North, and while we had a brown Christmas, we will be having a white New Year. Welcome to @Living.la.vida.fifi and thank you for all your work this year and for the wonderful introduction to a retrospective look at our scarves during the past year. Thank you also to all the scarf mistresses and guest scarf mistresses who help to lead and educate us about our scarves during the year.

Early in the year the CCP or Colorway Correction Program (thank you @LKBNOLA for this delightful acronym) was in full swing. A review of my 2023 acquisitions shows that seven scarves entered the collection because they had a more desired colorway. I discovered that I have not always divested the less desired colorway, but these scarves may yet move on during 2024.

Entering the collection during 2023 under the CCP were:

Animapolis in Red (thanks to inspiration by @FizzyWater)

Clair de Lune in Marine

Le Carnaval des Animaux in Bleu Lavande

Perspective in Gray

There are three additional scarves which were acquired late in the year, and have not yet been worn.

Trophees de Venise in Blue (inspired by @momasaurus)

View attachment 5921051

Mineraux in Brick Red (inspired by @xincinsin)

View attachment 5921052

and, Paddock for the 2010 Chicago store opening (inspired by my disappointment that there was no special scarf for the 2023 store reopening on my visit to the Chicago boutique, but there was one for 2010)

View attachment 5921050

I'm wearing Mineraux as my scarf of the day. My love for colored gemstones predates my love for Hermes scarves by many years. Mineraux is a fitting winner of the CCP Oscarf.

I really enjoy reviewing my yearly purchases. And seeing all of yours!
This year was a slow start scarf-wise but ended the year strong!

2 new 70s. The turtle one is cotton. Les iles tortues. This is one I had on my wish list for years ever since I saw someone model it on tpf.

Confort et automobiles. I always liked the retro feel of this design but never bought one of the original 90s. I find 70s such a fun and easy format. Fit my casual lifestyle. Just bought this 2 weeks ago.IMG_1949.jpegIMG_2215.jpegIMG_2183.jpegIMG_2739.png

Happy New Year, Scarflandia!

I am starting the new year with a post dedicated to my Duja gavroche which I bought in the H store in my local town. At the time I didn’t know Alice Shirley but was immediately in love with the design. I am still hopping mad about not buying a 90…
It deserves an Oscarf for the best accidental grail purchase.

This is beautiful on you and a lovely find @Sylt Lover -- perfect with your sweater!
Happy New Year SOTD community. One of my goals for 2024 is to wear my scarves again. We moved last year and honestly there’s been little motivation to sort all of the boxes and get back up and running. I do lurk here from time to time, and truly miss the fun of the thread and all you lovely scarfies. Will be back later with an actual SOTD post, for now I’m still in pjs. Happy new year to all!
So nice to see you on the thread @Foxy trini and I do hope you will be able to join more in the coming year. I have missed your wonderful posts and scarf thoughts...
Gorgeous pairing with the cuff @Croisette7-- I would not mind finding another cw of this design and I had one in mind but your post is complicating my wish list -- and it is only the first day of the year! My wish list is already in trouble... :winkiss:
Here are shots of my LMdHR flat. We do not have the same cw - mine is more silver and grey. I really love your cw, EtsyBoss sister :hugs:, but could never find it at a price point that I could tolerate. Regardless, I love mine, too! I don’t think there is a bad cw of this design, although the brown one is a bit strong.

I am responding to your posts in one @Karenska-- thank you for sharing the details of your beautiful MdHR and also, I love the additional scarves that made your awards list!
Outstanding additions to your collection - and what a gorgeous GMCS to toast NYE with your neighbours.
May I wish you a very Happy New Year.
Thank you @orchard and I send you the same good wishes for a healthy and happy 2024!
Best new to me format: sangles en zigzag mousseline 60.
This was the first scarf I bought in 2023 and the first of many inspired after seeing dear @lbknola

Le Monde est vaste

Aux portes du palais ( this was a Xmas gift)

View attachment 5921513View attachment 5921514
We are double twins on the first two-- definitely worth an Oscarf! That little moussie was my most worn piece in the heat of summer @scarf1! Your two moussie finds, especially Aux Portes du Palais is simply droolworthy... a gorgeous gift.
Happy New Year, dear scarfies! I hope everyone had a good start and have the resolutions in order:smile: my resolution is to… “downsize”!!! I hope to slim down my collection of 90s, which I rarely wear, so I have that on my goals' list.
As far as O-scarfs for this year, I would have to single a couple of special pieces I was able to add to my collection - Brandebourgs and Dans Atelier. I was specifically looking for those colorways so I feel lucky to find them - both in unworn condition! Dans Atelier was a much desired format correction, and Brandebourgs was a colorway correction.
I wish everyone’s grail dreams come true and I hope the Fall Winter 2024 collection will be better than Spring Summer one!!!))
View attachment 5921516View attachment 5921517
Really beautiful additions @Ashanti_Rose -- such lovely neutrals for your collection. I haven't made any resolutions yet. Right now they all sound good and worthy to me!
Happy New Year!! During 2023 I added three vintage scarves to my collection that I consider to be very special. All three scarves were designed prior to 1960, which makes them, like myself, very vintage.

I love the La Provence by Hugo Grygkar because of the mosaic, and was looking specifically for the version shown in the 1957 Hermes catalog with "Provincia" on the scarf design.
View attachment 5921518
Here is my scarf. I suspect it could well be from the original issue.

View attachment 5921519View attachment 5921521

My next find was Deo Juvante Monaco, the scarf that Grace Kelly famously used as an arm sling in 1959. This scarf is thin, with multiple runs, and worn, but like the Hermes scarf that it is, it washed up beautifully. Again, I suspect this is an early issue.

View attachment 5921527View attachment 5921525View attachment 5921526

My final very vintage acquisition during 2023 was Les Biches (1957) by Xavier de Poret. I'd promised myself to find the budget to add a de Poret each year to my collection, and happily this slightly wabi sabi piece came in well under budget. Not my first beloved scarf with a small hole or two.

View attachment 5921534View attachment 5921532

Les Biches is the winner of the Very Vintage Oscarf, and is my scarf of the day.

View attachment 5921533
Your vintage additions are wonderful and your Poret collection is truly insppirational and enviable @Redbirdhermes! Can't wait to see what you add in 2024!
I am so hopelessly behind on this thread and miss seeing everyone‘s scarves and lives.

 This sounds like a set up for a stand-up routine: "A scarf walks into a bar..." Very stylish hotel guests @CedarWaxWing! Happy New Year to you!
Another great category idea! You Douze Leopards collection is so amazing. Such an amazing palette of colors!
SS2023 is the season in which I discovered H carres, and it was a devastating season for me. The colors and many designs appealed to me a lot. I think I own 10 pieces from the collection.

It is VERY hard to choose the best of that season, but by the slightest of margins, I will agree with @Living.la.vida.fifi and choose Costume de Fete. The colors in this and the design details are just chefs kiss.

As a runner up, I will also call this the Best Summer/Aquatic-Themed Scarf and honor the lovely Cheval Sirene.

Gaaaah! Spectacular!

How is it the end of 2024?? What a year!

My first Oscarf goes to... me! For discovering Hermès this summer and falling in love with scarves. I have purchased 11 silks over the past few months: five twillies, three 45s, three 90s. And I also received a muffler for Christmas.

View attachment 5920862

My Oscarf for best design goes to Parade en Fanfare, of which I have one twilly, one gavroche, two 90s. Just need one of the cashmere 65 versions to complete the set...

View attachment 5920865

And a special mention Oscarf for the one that nearly got away - La Vallee de Cristal. The gris colourway wasn't my first or even third choice, but it was the only one that landed on the UK website this year. I'm so glad I talked myself into it!

View attachment 5920867

Plus a best supporting Oscarf goes to my collection of coloured plastic chains for helping me find new ways to wear a twilly.

View attachment 5920866

Massive thanks to our wonderful SOTD team for hosting and to everyone for sharing their beautiful scarves and stories. Wishing you all a happy, healthy and prosperous 2024.
Well chosen Oscarfs! It’s been delightful to meet you here this year… We are both in agreement about Parade in Fanfare… Ties like a dream! And your necklace/scarf pairings are amazing

Wishing all dear scarfies a very happy, healthy and peaceful New Year! ... and many thanks to our lovely scarf mistresses for hosting the very interesting weeks!
So happy to be your twin on this masterpiece…
now, I must find me a sweater just this shade of green for it looks amazing with it

Sorry for not posting actively over the last weeks / months - I am reading posts every morning, thinking ‘I need to take a picture today‘ and then in the evening - I realize I have forgotten it again. Thanks to everyone for showing your beautiful scarfs and shawls, for the well chosen themes and for always being friendly, supportive and generous with your knowledge.
It’s fabulous to know (and be somehow part of) a group of individuals from all over the world who share the same passion. Thanks everyone for this wonderful year!

I stumbled across this forum and thread somewhat in the middle of 2023. I had purchased some H scarfs in the past but stopped when my local H store closed. This thread has resurrected my love for H scarfs. This year I have purchased 3 silks and my first CSGM. They all win an Oscarf as they are all different - one twilly, one CSGM, one vintage 90, one new 90.

And of course one last view of my much loved cashmere and silk scarves, CSGMs, triangles, a pointu and a wool-silk mix.
The first photo is from last week, the other ones are from the archives. Those lead me on a very slippery slope as well

Wow!! Such great additions! Each one is amazing and were made for you!

Let me begin by offering everyone my best wishes for a healthy and happy New Year full of peace and blessings and for all of us here- scarves! I am so grateful to have this oasis of talented, smart, stylish and slightly insane silk fellow travelers to share my passion with and get a daily dose of beauty, friendship and fun. And now, on to a favorite theme week!
My first Oscarfs category is for Best Consignment Store Finds of 2023. I used to love to pop into the beautiful vintage and consignment shops along Madison Avenue in NYC, or poke my head into the Housing Works "Thrift" shop full of high end donations to a worthy cause. The Pandemic put an end to that. Like many here the bulk of my collection has been acquired through H.Com or online resellers supplemented increasingly by a return to boutique purchases (and intra-scarfie trades and sells-- the best!). But these four lovely pieces were found in brick and mortar stores chock-a-block with clothing, jewelry and accessories. It was a joy to find them, to support the local small businesses, to recycle and reuse beautiful pieces and of course, not pay a King's Ransom to do so!

SOT morning was Sous le Charme d’Orphee - the celestial vibes seemed on point for New Years Eve.

This year… I bought all the scarves. Lol. ALL of them. I’d share this year’s purchases as a year-end summary but it would be super embarrassing. However, I will think on some Oscarf award categories for featuring a few of them.
You need to show them all to us this week!

Thank you @Agrume for hosting last week! I've been sick and still trying to catch up with everyone's posts (so much eye candy!), I've been enjoying all the posts.

I've managed to find quite a lot of scarves this year that it's hard to pick one or two!

One of my favourites is definitely Vallee de Cristal, love it so much I got two! Wearing the pink one for last minute errands.

Wishing everyone a happy new year! I'm so happy to have discovered this wonderful community of scarfies. May the new year bring more wonderful silky treasures and grails to you all.
Hope you feel better! This stunner is definitely worthy of multiples

I discovered that I have not always divested the less desired colorway, but these scarves may yet move on during 2024.

What a gorgeous look!

I probably succumbed to the Hermes siren song too many times this year! But a top contender for my Orscarf would be a fairly under the radar design, Le Chat Carré. I loved it so much I got three CWs of it. Here they are... Le Chat does look a bit more like a Raton Laveur to me, but no matter, there is so much to like!View attachment 5921238View attachment 5921239View attachment 5921240View attachment 5921241
It is magnificent! Definitely worthy of multiples!

First, thank you lovely scarf and guest scarf mistresses for a wonderful year. The themes have been so much fun, educational, inspiring, and enabling. I appreciate the effort and time each of you put into planning the year's themes and into the wonderful hosting and posts. Thank you!
:ps:

I also want to thank each and every person on this thread. This is the most wonderful space on the internet and I'm so grateful to be a part of it. I learn so much from your posts, pictures, and kind & thoughtful comments - there's nothing better than sitting down to the warmth and generosity of fellow Scarifies. This thread has become a lovely part of my daily routine. :hugs:

Lastly, my first Oscarf goes to Les Ailes de Pegase. It is the first scarf I purchased and it's the CS I've worn the most. It's my grab-and-go, casual thrown on. Here's a pic from earlier in the week when I ran out to buy a new vacuum cleaner :broom::

Happy New Year! :yahoo: I'm wishing each of you a happy and healthy 2024 surrounded by the people and fur-babies you love. And many, many new scarves, of course!
It is a masterpiece!

This year's Oscar for the Best Vintage Design I received this year goes out to Les Mythologies des Hommes Rouges by Kermit Oliver, my second KO this year and an absolute design wonder. I feel so fortunate to own not one but two KOs. My other is the gorgeous Tsitsika that pays homage to the peoples of the Pacific Northwest coast. This one celebrates the native people of North America more broadly, focusing on those of the United States. It is so detailed and beautifully rendered. Every time I look at it I notice a new detail. There is a lot to love in Kermit Oliver's designs!

A special award goes to Mr. Etsy Boss for Best Supporting Actor in the Acquisitions Department for gifting the Mythologies to me for Christmas - and keeping it a secret! When I saw this design modeled here (I wish I could remember which one of you is responsible! @Cookiefiend maybe??) I fell in love and showed the Mr who took a shine to it as well. Then the hunt began. I found / suggested two and he chose the much prettier but more costly one (good man!). They're both stuck with me for life

At the heart of the design is a circle of plains animals such as bear, white tailed deer, sandhill cranes, and bison that I remember fondly from childhood camping trips. Each corner depicts what I believe must be essentially the different peoples of the four corners of the US. I'm especially fond of the bear and the bison and the woman standing on the turtle / tortoise with the wood rat (?) who might represent the people who were native to the area that is now Florida, not sure. This scarf also has a charming border of delicate white flowers running on two of the four sides which none of my ties shows off particularly well. Colors are sand, pale blue, sage, a bit of rouge and brown, very Earth tone and with a great marine / teal border that is quite subdues as to be possibly charcoal.

There you have it, the extraordinary and so graily KO Mythologies des Hommes Rouges of which I am tickled and thrilled to be the new protector. Did I mention it looked like it had never been worn?!

Dear Scarfies
In 2023 I bought 8 H items (to me, it means I went far overboard). These purchases however included only two 90 Carres - my long time grail Jaguar Quetzal carre:
View attachment 5921257
and En Liberte! carre:
View attachment 5921258
I am relieved that - as regards scarves, at least - it means I managed to adhere to my resolution to curate my collection and buy only either my true grails or scarves that I am 100% certain will be worth every penny to me. By that I mean scarves which are: 1) versatile both in terms of design and CW, 2) suit my complexion and my wardrobe and 3) add that something "new" to my wardrobe, an end result I couldn't create using something else in my collection already.
I actually intended to wear En Liberte! today on New Year's Eve - with a dress I bought with this scarf in mind especially, as they look as if they were meant to be worn together

Love this CW!!

Happy new year scarflandia!
My scarf journey started at the beginning of the year with a visit to FSH and the rest is history… I will try to share my Oscarfs later this week.
A big thank you to this kind and encouraging (and enabling) community and the scarf mistresses who make it all possible!

For my first Oscarf I share a picture of my newest acquisition: a grail I have been hunting since my scarf debut because I grew up in a forest region.
Les legendes de l‘arbre in the 2016 reissue.
So happy you joined us! I just love this design and am looking forward to your Oscarfs

Most of my bought scarves of 2023
Fleurs des Indiennes made me very happy but my number one grail has been Hippopolis cw with yellow hem and I found it finally and it should be here this coming week so oscarf goes to it, no question about it.
I think this year I buy a lot less but go hunting for grail 2-4😁
Anyway , happy new year to everyone!
What a fabulous array of silks! And congrats on the Hippopolis! A wonderful Grail! Can’t wait to see it!

The second award in my 2023 Oscarf Ceremony will be awarded for Best Format Enhancement of a Design. There are two categories: large to small and small to large. Envelope, please. And the Golden Cat statuette goes to 12 Leopards DF 90!
I adore this design and had succumbed to it when it was first issued in CSGM in the AW21 season. Even so, I longed for a 90 version. Last fall it finally appeared and I fell hard-- choosing not one but two for a total of 24 Leopards altogether (36 if we add the CSGM). I am way past @HermesEchidna's double jeopardies here...
View attachment 5921305

In the small to large category, the Golden Pegasus Oscarf statuette goes to Clair de Lune-- among my most loved double face 90s. This was issued in CSGM for AW23 and I think the design in its new format is just as award-worthy as the original 90.

I am loving your Oscarfs categories! Very thought-provoking… My favs here is that striking black Clair de Lune and the ELEK CSGM which I have as your twin

Hello Scarflandia
My love for Maxi Twillies started with black Brazil and black Kachinas Maxi Twillies - thanks to @MaiTai 's amazing blog and enabling. This love turned out to be longlasting, so no wonder that a MT was also one of my 2023 acquisitions. It was a long haunted for Carre en Carres MT by Kermit Oliver:

Happy hunting for your grails in 2024, everyone!
Oooh fabulous!

Such a great one to add to a collection! This is a delightful CW

Gorgeous outfit!

I only added three beauties to my collection this year so they’re all Oscar worthy IMO:
Such beauties! And they are all made for you! Beautifully styled as always

My first purchase of 2023 from a dear tPF member, Appaloosa des Steppes gav in gorgeous blues. LOVE IT!!

Two beloved purchases, also from another dear friend here, La Cite Cavaliere:

And MT Slim, the iconic Guepards:
View attachment 5921481
And Souvenir de Netherlands, En Liberty because I met so many wonderful people with wonderful dogs. It was the perfect memento and in a cw I would most likely not have chosen from the website. But I love it.

And Ginger Cat, too.

Ohmyheavens! They are all amazing! That was the Cite Cavaliere I should’ve purchased when it was available and that Guepards is drop dead gorgeous!

Best new to me format: sangles en zigzag mousseline 60.
This was the first scarf I bought in 2023 and the first of many inspired after seeing dear @lbknola

It is spectacular… Such an unique and beautiful format!

Best CSGM. Ok it was only CSGM I bought this year 😂

Found 2 older GM moussies on resale site.

Beat moussie finds! Both of these designs are among my most admired mousselines

Oooooooh! Perhaps the Oscar should actually go to this one, which also came into my possession this year via a swap with a dear friend. Yes I think so! Carnets de Bal moussie:

OMG yes! And ai saw this one IRL! It is breathtaking

Both are magnificent! Such glorious additions!

Dear @Karenska
All beautiful and from one of the most talented H artists too!
I am happy to be your twin on En Liberte twilly, which was one of the loveliest additions for me in 2023 as well. I remember also your pretty mod shot in it with a blue purse  Here's mine from the archives:

Oh how beautiful!

You are so lucky to have found these treasures! Very, very special silks…

I am so hopelessly behind on this thread and miss seeing everyone‘s scarves and lives.
Scarf sighting at the Seattle Fairmont Hotel Speakeasy on Dec 27.
Bouquets Selliers GT in Gris Rose Vert cw 09, and Les Ailes de Pegase cw 12.

Oh wow! Love them both!

Such beauties! Truly amazing

My best find this year:
Early America in a pristine condition.

View attachment 5921577
I am a huge fan of Early America and own several CWs in all formats… My moussie is the coloration of your scarf!

Just bought this 2 weeks ago.View attachment 5921762View attachment 5921763View attachment 5921764View attachment 5921765

Secrets de Minos is a design I have often admired but hadn’t seen quite the right CW. When this grey and pink one appeared on TRR, it was a quick click. Havent worn yet as it was Xmas gift

Love them all! Each so different and so amazing on you… I had never seen that CW of Secret de Minos IRL… It is gorgeous!

This is beautiful on you and a lovely find @Sylt Lover -- perfect with your sweater!

:winkiss:

I am responding to your posts in one @Karenska-- thank you for sharing the details of your beautiful MdHR and also, I love the additional scarves that made your awards list!

Thank you @orchard and I send you the same good wishes for a healthy and happy 2024!

We are double twins on the first two-- definitely worth an Oscarf! That little moussie was my most worn piece in the heat of summer @scarf1! Your two moussie finds, especially Aux Portes du Palais is simply droolworthy... a gorgeous gift.

Really beautiful additions @Ashanti_Rose -- such lovely neutrals for your collection. I haven't made any resolutions yet. Right now they all sound good and worthy to me!

Your vintage additions are wonderful and your Poret collection is truly insppirational and enviable @Redbirdhermes! Can't wait to see what you add in 2024!

 This sounds like a set up for a stand-up routine: "A scarf walks into a bar..." Very stylish hotel guests @CedarWaxWing! Happy New Year to you!

Beautiful @Jereni! We are twins and sisters on these winners. And thank you for the Leopard Love!

Really gorgeous cw of this wonderful design @monteverdi! And in pristine condition-- definitely worth an award!
Thank you @LKBNOLA I really love the design but I find styling gavroches to be a bit tricky. I would like to wear it more often but I am always tempted by the 90s as it’s more fun to play with them (if that makes sense?).

This knot is genius! I love it! And it is a magnificent shawl

What an amazing parade! You well covered all the bases with the variety of colors and styles! An incredible collection!

Gaaaah! Spectacular!

Well chosen Oscarfs! It’s been delightful to meet you here this year… We are both in agreement about Parade in Fanfare… Ties like a dream! And your necklace/scarf pairings are amazing

So happy to be your twin on this masterpiece…
now, I must find me a sweater just this shade of green for it looks amazing with it

Oooh such great choices! They are all stunning… May I ask which is the second design? I love it

Wow!! Such great additions! Each one is amazing and were made for you!

Aaaah! What a great category! Love them all as each is especially lovely in its own way… Perhaps my favs are that stunning Duo d’Etriers and the soft and sublime Amazones

You need to show them all to us this week!

Hope you feel better! This stunner is definitely worthy of multiples

Great CCPrs! All great additions, but blown away by that Mineraux… It is stunning!

Such a beautiful CW of this striking design!

Looks amazing

Love them both!

What a gorgeous look!

It is magnificent! Definitely worthy of multiples!

It is a masterpiece!

It is a masterful design… Congratulations on acquiring this rare jewel! I own the blue/yellow CW and consider it one of my treasures… Love your CW!

Happy New Year! Is that the new Mystere au 24 scarf? It is fabulous!

Adore this CW… I wore this shawl all day yesterday… only swapped shawls in the evening… It is such an upbeat, amazing shawl!

Congrats! It is so fabulous!

Love this CW!!

So happy you joined us! I just love this design and am looking forward to your Oscarfs

What a fabulous array of silks! And congrats on the Hippopolis! A wonderful Grail! Can’t wait to see it!

And, the Oscarfs to Best Supporting Actors for Spring/Summer 2023 go to Tea for Two and Tulipomanie! Besides my two CWs of Costume en Fanfare, these were my other two choices that season. Love them both…

And, now my Oscarfs to Best Supporting Actors for Fall/Winter 2023 go to Boucleries Moderne and Chorus Stellarum bandana… These, along with Parade en Fanfare and Brandebourg Fleuri, were my sole additions from the season.

I was glad to add another 70cm to my collection and fell head over heels with the amazing jacquard of Boucleries Moderne

The Chorus Stellarum is special for it is the first bandana I own. As a fan of C’est la Fete and of the original Chorus Stellarum 70cm, I am very happy to own this bandana in such an unique CW

Absolutely lovely and a very unique colorway!!! Looks great on you!!!

Happy New Year! Is that the new Mystere au 24 scarf? It is fabulous!

Omg what an AMAZING epic multi-quote!!! Well done. The scarf in this new years pic is Hermes Factory - the light was very dim in that restaurant so the colors look a bit off.
