My first purchase of 2023 from a dear tPF member, Appaloosa des Steppes gav in gorgeous blues. LOVE IT!!

Two beloved purchases, also from another dear friend here, La Cite Cavaliere:

And MT Slim, the iconic Guepards:
View attachment 5921481
And Souvenir de Netherlands, En Liberty because I met so many wonderful people with wonderful dogs. It was the perfect memento and in a cw I would most likely not have chosen from the website. But I love it.

Dear @Karenska
All beautiful and from one of the most talented H artists too!
I am happy to be your twin on En Liberte twilly, which was one of the loveliest additions for me in 2023 as well. I remember also your pretty mod shot in it with a blue purse :) Here's mine from the archives:

Happy New Year!! During 2023 I added three vintage scarves to my collection that I consider to be very special. All three scarves were designed prior to 1960, which makes them, like myself, very vintage.

I love the La Provence by Hugo Grygkar because of the mosaic, and was looking specifically for the version shown in the 1957 Hermes catalog with "Provincia" on the scarf design.
monde-1957.jpg
Here is my scarf. I suspect it could well be from the original issue.

20230804_094959.jpgProvence.jpg

My next find was Deo Juvante Monaco, the scarf that Grace Kelly famously used as an arm sling in 1959. This scarf is thin, with multiple runs, and worn, but like the Hermes scarf that it is, it washed up beautifully. Again, I suspect this is an early issue.

GraceKellySling2.jpgDeo Juvante.png1683688510936.png

My final very vintage acquisition during 2023 was Les Biches (1957) by Xavier de Poret. I'd promised myself to find the budget to add a de Poret each year to my collection, and happily this slightly wabi sabi piece came in well under budget. Not my first beloved scarf with a small hole or two.

20231120_134707.jpg20231120_134512.jpg

Les Biches is the winner of the Very Vintage Oscarf, and is my scarf of the day.

Happy New Year, dear scarfies! I hope everyone had a good start and have the resolutions in order:smile: my resolution is to… “downsize”!!! I hope to slim down my collection of 90s, which I rarely wear, so I have that on my goals' list.
As far as O-scarfs for this year, I would have to single a couple of special pieces I was able to add to my collection - Brandebourgs and Dans Atelier. I was specifically looking for those colorways so I feel lucky to find them - both in unworn condition! Dans Atelier was a much desired format correction, and Brandebourgs was a colorway correction.
I wish everyone’s grail dreams come true and I hope the Fall Winter 2024 collection will be better than Spring Summer one!!!))

Congratulations, @Ashanti_Rose! Dallet, and especially Dans l'Atelier CSGM, is the grail of grails for many. I've been dreaming about the grey/black one for years. You look breathtaking in yours!

Now, that's what one calls a Collector indeed! Congratulations, @Redbirdhermes! Xavier de Poret, like Dallet, is a timeless master and the story behind Deo Juvante Monaco...

Oooh, lovely! I like pairing two twillies in that fashion. Is the other twilly Danse des Amazones? And thank you for your lovely compliments, Marta.

Thank you, MabelJo,

Happy New Year, dear Karenska!

So elegant! ... and that necklace!

Thank you, dear ... and right back to you, a very happy 2024!

It is so gorgeous, Agrume, you inspired me for the pastel one.
Happy New Year!

Happy New Year @Jereni! Looking lovely and festive at your feast!

It was an amazingly good year for this type of thing which is why I made it an Oscarf category-- I suspect I am in for a biblical seven year dry spell after this @Maedi. Two in the last quarter of the year alone!

It is just so unbelievably gorgeous @Nomad! Happy New Year to you and thank you for all you contribute here-- not only your amazingly curated collex but so much insight and commentary. :flowers:

Thank you so much @Karenska! I can't wait to see but I do believe you and @EtsyBoss are twins on your new beautiful KO. What a find for each of you. I know you have longed for that one and am so happy it is in your collection now.

Happy New Year @Agrume-- the yellow Tulipomanie is magnificent. Oscarf-worthy for sure...

That is a beautiful design @Jacq1 -- can't wait to see the next stops along your collecting journey in 2024...

Oh, my. Congratulations! I can only dream of becoming your Hippopolis twin @ninakt-- it is my Holy Grail for 2024-- cannot wait to see pics and mod shots when it arrives! I am going to follow your strategy for 2024 also: hunt for some truly special pieces and shop less...

Thank you both-- it is a lot more fun to attempt an inventory of the year with some Oscarf humor @Marta_K and @violetkool-- otherwise I risk just feeling overwhelmed by what I have done!

Just stunning, Agrume, and very beautiful on you. It just pops and you tied it so elegantly.
Thank you, dear Croisette, LKBNOLA and Karenska! :flowers:

Dear Jereni, what a lovely post and thank you for sharing your special evening with us! You carre is gorgeous, I am not placing it, but it is indeed beautiful on you. Such a delectable dessert presented on a pretty plate. I hope you enjoyed your New Year’s Eve dinner and Happy New Year! :hugs:

Aw thank you!!! The scarf is Hermes Factory which was a 2022 piece if I’m not mistaken. Happy new year to you as well!

The second award in my 2023 Oscarf Ceremony will be awarded for Best Format Enhancement of a Design. There are two categories: large to small and small to large. Envelope, please. And the Golden Cat statuette goes to 12 Leopards DF 90!
I adore this design and had succumbed to it when it was first issued in CSGM in the AW21 season. Even so, I longed for a 90 version. Last fall it finally appeared and I fell hard-- choosing not one but two for a total of 24 Leopards altogether (36 if we add the CSGM). I am way past @HermesEchidna's double jeopardies here...
View attachment 5921305

In the small to large category, the Golden Pegasus Oscarf statuette goes to Clair de Lune-- among my most loved double face 90s. This was issued in CSGM for AW23 and I think the design in its new format is just as award-worthy as the original 90.

Hoping everyone has a lovely New Year's Day!

Another great category idea! You Douze Leopards collection is so amazing. Such an amazing palette of colors!

What a treat - and a treat for the eyes for us, Jereni ! For me, Oscarfs go to all your scarves, including this one, Hermès Factory double face scarf if I am not mistaken. You have great instincts for choosing colours which are perfect for you and I enjoy your stylings and on site mod shots very much Have a silky happy New Year

You are so sweet thank you! Happy new year to you as well!

Happy New Year @Jereni! Looking lovely and festive at your feast!

Thank you!

Happy New Year, Scarflandia!

I am starting the new year with a post dedicated to my Duja gavroche which I bought in the H store in my local town. At the time I didn’t know Alice Shirley but was immediately in love with the design. I am still hopping mad about not buying a 90…
It deserves an Oscarf for the best accidental grail purchase.

Oh yeah…. That is a treasure and looks amazing on you.

Love the green! And perfect with that brooch.

I only added three beauties to my collection this year so they’re all Oscar worthy IMO:

Gorgeous selections for the year! Definitely all Oscarf worthy.

Best CSGM. Ok it was only CSGM I bought this year 😂

This is a stunner for sure. None of my CSGMs are from 2023 - but I agree this was the best one from this year.

Fabulous start for the best ofs! I’m getting my popcorn ready to go!

Awesome colours, Marta - you can wear anything!

Thank you, LKBNOLA! And yes, the Awooooo is a SE.

Such a beautiful colourway, very festive, Croisette!

Your J d’A are so nice, Orchard! I am always happy when I see this design posted.

You and LKBNOLA model the Summer Day CSGT so convincingly… should I get it, too?

Hope you feel better, Awillow, your Brises are spectacular and I love your Fleurs et Papillons GT.

Love seeing these on you, RBH, and a good scarf to finish this week!

Lovely to be a twin, and hope you will have some more time to post in the new year, frenchgirl. Success with your business!

Thank you, Bunnycat and the scarf team, for organising the next year! Congratulations on your new acquisition!

Thank you, AshantiRose, for showing Ferry Tales, I believe we have not seen this one yet. And your remarks on wearing our treasures are spot on!

Thank you, Karenska, and thank you for sharing your beautiful collection! Especially your Encadres, so calming!

Well done, Mary Ann, and there will be more, we can all testify on this.

Thank you, and so beautiful, these red and blue shades, EtsyBoss!

Thank you, Fifi, and you also have such a vibrant PdV!

Thank you - those detailed instructions are always so helpful, SilkCouture!

Thank you, Maedi, and what a nice pink shade this is!

Thank you, MabelJo! Most of my turtlenecks are from Uniqlo, they have many shades, and you can pick them to suit your scarves…

Thank you for this intro, Fifi, and congratulations on your pink DuJA, I completely understand how one can be obsessed with this design.

Keep them, nomad! They all suit you perfectly!

A really festive cw, GloWW0rM!

Thank you, Violet, and your start in H is Oscarf worthy indeed! Looking forward to see more of your choices!

Fantastic first post, @Living.la.vida.fifi ! I'm with @bunnycat on this – grabbing my popcorn and getting ready to enjoy what's coming up next.

Many congrats on welcoming the grail J d'A to your collection, a timeless beauty well worth waiting for.
I did a double take after seeing this irl as I passed by a lady wearing it around 7 years ago - it's remained on my wish list ever since ... one day I hope to be your twin.

Dear Fifi first a big thankyou for letting us all participate in your gorgeous collection of scarves, jewelry (and umbrellas!).
I have learned a lot via your sharing of your vast knowledge!
And your Oscarf-scarves really are worthy of the prize! Congrats to finding a Jardin in this perfect CW!
Wishing you and your family a wonderful New Year! ♥️

Nobody with me right now, but if you could see me, I'm giving you a 20mins-min standing ovation, whistles, throwing red roses and screaming encore :woot:

Dear @Living.la.vida.fifi thank you for this lovely introduction to a favorite week of mine as well! It is always so useful to look back on the year and see what has happened in our individual silk worlds! Your Oscarfs are amazing. Congratulations on finding that beautiful vibrant DuJA after yearning after it so long! I think it gets a Double Oscarf for "The One That Got Away Comes Home"-- an inspirational story for all of us and a beautiful scarf for you!

Thank you for the tutorial!!! I’m pleased to see it seems much easier than I expected. Also is that like, Switzerland behind you? GORGEOUS.

Ohhh wow. This will be such a fun week! You selections are all gorgeous. Love your pair of CdFs and of course the PeF as you know. And congrats on that Jardin Anglais!!! I was lucky enough also to nab one this year.

Your collages are so very good. I need to figure out how to make something similar. Love all of these, esp the Appaloosa, the Sarah’s triangle (those colors!) and the Savana Dance!

Happy New Year's Eve to Everyone! Winter has finally come to the North, and while we had a brown Christmas, we will be having a white New Year. Welcome to @Living.la.vida.fifi and thank you for all your work this year and for the wonderful introduction to a retrospective look at our scarves during the past year. Thank you also to all the scarf mistresses and guest scarf mistresses who help to lead and educate us about our scarves during the year.

Early in the year the CCP or Colorway Correction Program (thank you @LKBNOLA for this delightful acronym) was in full swing. A review of my 2023 acquisitions shows that seven scarves entered the collection because they had a more desired colorway. I discovered that I have not always divested the less desired colorway, but these scarves may yet move on during 2024.

Entering the collection during 2023 under the CCP were:

Animapolis in Red (thanks to inspiration by @FizzyWater)

Clair de Lune in Marine

View attachment 5921008

Le Carnaval des Animaux in Bleu Lavande

View attachment 5921017

Perspective in Gray

View attachment 5921030

There are three additional scarves which were acquired late in the year, and have not yet been worn.

Trophees de Venise in Blue (inspired by @momasaurus)

View attachment 5921051

Mineraux in Brick Red (inspired by @xincinsin)

View attachment 5921052

and, Paddock for the 2010 Chicago store opening (inspired by my disappointment that there was no special scarf for the 2023 store reopening on my visit to the Chicago boutique, but there was one for 2010)

View attachment 5921050

I'm wearing Mineraux as my scarf of the day. My love for colored gemstones predates my love for Hermes scarves by many years. Mineraux is a fitting winner of the CCP Oscarf.

View attachment 5921053

Gorgeous intro, fifi! I hate those regrets like your DuJA. I have a few of those. Darn budgets! So glad you found her at last - she is a beauty.

Off topic today with Savana Dance.

Thank you dear @Agrume for hosting the cosy cashmere and large format week and thank you dear @Living.la.vida.fifi for introduction to this week's delightful theme and a great THANK YOU to all wonderful and creative hostesses and mistresses!
To each and every member of Scarflandia - the very best wishes for the New Year, may it be healthy, peaceful and full of love, friendship and joy:drinks:
This year I took the courage to start posting here myself, after a good many years of being just an ardent yet dormant reader and well-wisher, and the welcome and support from you, dear Scarfies, couldn't have been more heartwarming:hugs:So it goes without saying that my first personal Oscarf of 2023 goes to You all, wonderfully creative, friendly and yes a bit insane (as @LKBNOLA aptly pointed out/admitted) community of Scarflandia:wave:

Your Silk Mix is gorgeous! I've not seen this shawl before and I'm in love with the colors. Running off to add it to my wish list!

Great collection of Encadres @Karenska, they all look lovely on you, the camel/gris/moutard included. I'll bet it looks smashing against navy. I hope you find it a good home. I'm happy to be your Les Ailes twin

Congratulations @Mary Ann G, you've made such wonderful choices. You are proof that the H silk slope is indeed a slippery one. :jrs: Enjoy the ride!

Wow @EtsyBoss, you're knocking it out of the park with your gorgeous blues. You have a really great collection. :girlsigh:

All.So.Beautiful! @Living.la.vida.fifi. Picking myself up off the fainting couch now... :girlsigh:

Lovely shawl @SilkCouture, and thank you so much for the step-by-step! Great pics, so easy to follow.

This shawl could brighten up the dreariest of days @Maedi. Such a glorious bright colorway, I can see why it's a favorite.

This is going to be such an exciting week @Living.la.vida.fifi, and you've started us off with a bang. 🎆 Great introduction, gorgeous scarf choices. We are Brandebourgs Fleuri twins - yay - and Dans un Jardin Anglais sisters. :congrats: Congratulations on finding this beauty, she's gorgeous!

Dear fifi! Congratulations of the magnificient Anglais!

A wonderful introduction, Fifi, and grand Oscarf offerings! I just love that statuette. Thank you for hosting this final week and bringing us into the new year as we share the scarves that meant the most to us in 2023. To you and to all our team and guest hosts, it has indeed been a pleasure to participate in your innovative and inspired theme weeks. To every single member of this amazing thread, thank you for sharing your insights and comments and your wonderful collections. Here’s to the New Year!
Many thanks for all the lovely comments and the likes!

SS2023 is the season in which I discovered H carres, and it was a devastating season for me. The colors and many designs appealed to me a lot. I think I own 10 pieces from the collection.

It is VERY hard to choose the best of that season, but by the slightest of margins, I will agree with @Living.la.vida.fifi and choose Costume de Fete. The colors in this and the design details are just chefs kiss.

As a runner up, I will also call this the Best Summer/Aquatic-Themed Scarf and honor the lovely Cheval Sirene.
