Heading off to spend the day in NYC but first a huge thank you to @xincinsin for such a great theme and to all y'all for great scarf examples, interpretations, stretches and finds. I thought my algebra days were long behind me, but I truly loved "solving for X" and today all my skeletons have come out of the closet!!
View attachment 5884445
And speaking of skeletons, my SOYE, twins with my pal @Redbirdhermes, @Living.la.vida.fifi and many others... the incomparable C'est la Fete. I am very grateful to Mr. Bones for letting me borrow his Mr. Bones scarf; in fact, he was surprisingly nice about it...
View attachment 5884446
You have a beautiful collection of C’est la fêtes. The green bandana is spectacular tied this way and I am thrilled to be your twin.

Bonus posting thanks to scarf mail. I found this brand new maxi twilly for a good deal, so I decided to take a look.

View attachment 5884218

It even has a few x's in the design, so on theme for the week.

This is Sangles en Zigzag Fleuries maxi twilly in caban/vert/jaune d'or, CW09, from S/S 2018. This knot is how I wore all my rectangular silk scarves prior to discovering the Hermes squares.

And, here are some gorgeous coppery colored oaks from today's walk.

View attachment 5884219
These are nice colors. I like a good maxi twilly, too bad the format didn’t seem to ‘stick.’
I came across this photo of two oryx battling and immediately gasped at the X formed by their horns :woot:
View attachment 5884149
I have but one scarf with an oryx and it has but one oryx ...
View attachment 5884151
But! I did find dueling unicorns with crossed horns in my SOTD Les Licornes! :smartass:
View attachment 5884150
Between the oryx, the unicorns, and the narwhals, we got a whole animal sub theme here! Very cool
Laying low!

Yes- very stupid not looking where I was walking and walked right in to a 4x4 hanging out of a truck.
Ouch. Hope you are okay.
A busy scarf like this one has many crosses! Blue crisscross pattern on the front features prominently. La Selle Imaginaire is my SOTD.

Very pretty! I have never warmed up to this design, even though I own it, but you can really wear it so well.
Trying to will fall weather by bring out my scarves:
View attachment 5884591
This is lovely. What is this scarf — Tulipomanie?

If you want some fall weather, NorCal got you covered. The temperatures rapidly dropped here.
Hope you recover soon, dear @bunnycat, and let your brain heal as long as it needs.

Thank you, @xincinsin, for leading us on our search for X scarves this week. I'm finishing the week by bringing out the autumn leaves of Au Plus Dru, which are laying atop a lattice pattern of swords and knives.

Au Plus Dru is my scarf of the day.

Very autumnal.
Hello Scarfies, I’m wrapping up this week’s theme with C’est la Fete, Tours de Clés (which has some fabulous Xs), and this application Woof Woof , filled with plenty of cross-hatching and some Xs.

Got to say you are killing the scarf ring game. I have a few, but never really use them, so maybe this is the inspiration I need to kickstart the habit.
Do two half Xs count? Enjoying the preppy blue and green of my Parade en Fanfare gavroche today. Cuz also it’s super warm out.

I just wilipedia’ed narwhals and learned a lot of cool facts, so thank you!
Spot on for Halloween!

Gosh you look so cozy, although the thought of all the cashmere makes me itch! It’s a wonderful scarf on you though.

I’m not an expert in the types of silk used in our 140’s. But if there is a winter silk this is def it!! Otherwise it’s just regular silk twill then. It’s thick and heavy. I normally don’t mind but it ended up creeping up to 82 and I was dying and had to take it all off haha.
Cheval Phoenix ( for short) 140. My only 140 silk and I LOVE it. A couple of x’s on it. But not as many as I thought.
View attachment 5883706
You look great in this one!

It should be the regular silk twill, there is just so much of it in a 140. That is why they switched to the summer weight fabric for a while, which is exactly half the weight of the regular silk.

I can’t really wear the ‘regular’ silk in the summer, but I do find myself fishing the summer weight ones were less flimsy.

Xceptional week, scarfies! While sorting through my DS's old clothes, I came across a tiny alphabet tee with the best comment for the previous week's Xciting scarf pics!

Please carry on finding Xs because, as you know, X also represents the unknown (I'm looking at you, X files!). And no other day is as associated with the unknown as Halloween! :alien:

My segue into our next theme...
🍭 Trick or Treat: Candy Coloured Scarves 🍭
Plenty of Xs on En Duo as candy-coloured ribbons criss-cross in this design which I tend to pull out in October as it reminds me of Breast Cancer month.
20181019_110023.jpg
Xs also appear in this other candy pink design which I didn't get to wear for X week: now you see it, now you don't Magic Kelly. And doesn't Rendezvous au 24 remind you of Skittles (although I prefer Smarties  )
PicsArt_04-09-06.22.17.png
I'm quite fascinated by candy corn and maybe someday I'll actually buy some to try. The orange and yellow treat is represented by my Scarf-with-the-Longest-Name :giggle: De La Citrouille A La Caleche.

Buuut... if I had a choice, chocolate wins hands down, especially dark and bitter chocolate... Here's my dark chocolate Awooooo howling for a treat!

Are we ready for our sugar rush, scarfies? Let's get to it!

Thank you @xincinsin for the perfect segue to the next theme. I love that bright pink Magic Kelly and your "candy corn" scarf. Like you, my heart belongs to chocolate -- great pairing with Awooooo!
It is pouring down rain here and very gloomy but we are gearing up to make some pumpkin spice muffins this morning. Not quite candy, but definitely a sweet treat. After tomorrow night I will be able to match this eye-poppingly bright Sweet Dreams with a LOT of candies, but for now here are some "gummi jelly pumpkins"

Wow, @LKBNOLA epic post!
Glad to hear the Mr. Bones scarf did not become a bone of contention. Enjoy your day in NYC!
Thank you @BlueLilac -- it was a lovely day with unseasonably warm yet perfect weather!

This is so serenely autumnal @leechiyong. :girlsigh:
I hope you recover soon. A bit of good news:flowers:luckily modern day 2”x4” boards are actually 1.5″ x 3.5″ so the bruise should be a bit smaller than you expected!:P
 Way to ride the silver lining @Julide!
Hope you recover soon, dear @bunnycat, and let your brain heal as long as it needs.

I say they count by virtue of fractions @Jereni. Two halves make a whole so you are good, I think. Plus you can never be wrong with this cute PenF. The teal tee works well with the green in this; you are giving me excellent styling ideas...

@mauihappyplace-- it is hard to see it in this photo but congratulations on your exceptional. I know it to be stunning. Might you show it flat when you have a chance? I would love to see!

Thank you! So happy we are twins. That green was absolutely irresistible to me and I know it will be lovely on you! I used a moyenne CdA from Mai Tai Collection when she used to sell scarf rings. Miss those so much...
I wore my La Trêve de L’Eau today. I think we could all use some Trêve in our lives…View attachment 5884974

Wonderful intro, Xincinsin, and I am positively smitten with your gorgeous Citrouille, with a very Halloween orange and shimmery yellow, and your spectacular Awoooo. Is that the limited edition 70? It’s so perfect!

If you are fascinated with candy corn, take a look at the drops of water in La Source du Pegase.
