Thank you @xincinsin for hosting us for Breathless week. I was sad to hear the passing of Godard as well and glad we had this theme to help tribute.

Well, I am up late grading papers. I am most definitely NOT having fun and games, unless wanting to beat your head on the desk repeatedly after yet another 6 hours of grading calculus and still not finishing counts....

So I am taking a break to have some fun and games for a few minutes and start our next theme. And it is perfectly OK if someone of your scarves for this week, also leave you breathless. :)

18 Sep 2022 The Velveteen Rabbit: Toys and Games in your scarves

This week seems poised to be a walk down memory lane, to a time when playtime and toys were the center of our worlds (and now I can queue up 21 Pilots Stressed Out to listen to).

The Velveteen Rabbit was one of my favorite stories when I was a kid, along with The Poky Little Puppy and Millions of Cats. (Notice a theme there?) These are things I read over and over again, and they were my nighttime reading friends, and treasured memories (especially Poky Little Puppy) of playing school teacher with a kiddy blackboard with all my stuffed toys.

This week is all about toys and games on your scarves. I know you'll be able to find a way to work this thing and make all sorts of connections. Make a game of it, in fact. :D

First up for me is Promenades, with children's games and toys prominently displayed in several areas. It's also kind of a segue scarf from last week, as the striped hem still leaves me a little breathless on this one.

Horseshoes - a symbol of good luck to hang over your door- but also a game! I'm not very good at horseshoes (but then I am also not very good at its related game cornhole. ) Here is Lucky Stripes men's cotton scarf.

horseshoesgames.jpg

I'll be in and out this week, as we are very suddenly on the schedule for getting our windows done. Our order came in early and I still have a lot of prep to do. Take it away scarfies!

A parting note before the next scarf mistress starts the ball rolling.

This week's theme was inspired by one of my fave French films: À bout de souffle, usually translated as Breathless.

The director Jean-Luc Godard passed away this week. I am glad that we did this theme now, an unintentional tribute to one of the filmmakers who contributed to my fascination with film and TV, and my joining the world of mass media.

Thank you to everyone who showed their scarves which leave us breathless :flowers:
I just watched Breathless this past week and learned more about Jean Seberg.

Nomad, we are having fall weather today as well, so it felt right to wear my following super duper favorites! Some are quite old but still make my heart sing. In order, Axis Mundi, Pavement, Sieste (all CSGMs)and Indian Dust mouss. The latter was SOTD.View attachment 5611826View attachment 5611827View attachment 5611828View attachment 5611833
Those CSGMs are gorgeous!
Au Coeur de Vie from 2014... the scarf that made me fall irretrievably hard for Hermes. In a former life I was a psychology professor specializing in primates and when I saw this with its lemurs and even a fossa (!) wow (!) ... carnivorous cat-like animal endemic to Madagascar, I knew I had to have it. The blue is the perfect colorway. It's a gorgeous balance of vibrant colors and the animals are the closest match to their natural colors in this one. I have only this one colorway and it is my absolute favorite H scarf. In 2018 I was able to visit Madagascar with my family where my young daughter, husband, and I all got see all of the lemur species depicted in this one in the wild. To say it is precious to me is an understatement. The magenta colorway is the other one I would love to find one day now that I have burst right through the "one colorway per scarf" rule I set for myself....

Thank you for sha ring, EtsyBoss, those personal connections make those scarves even dearer. It pairs perfectly with your top!
This whole week has been eyecandy at its finest! Thank you dear @xincinsin for guiding us again! And thank you so much dear scarfies for showing us so much beauty! I was happy to see that I am twins with @xincinsin and @LKBNOLA with Sous l‘égide de Mars in this beautiful colorway  I am a bit late in showing my favorites, I didn’t feel so well because finally i caught the infamous C-Virus. But today I am better and took a bit of time to make photos.
As you can see, the scarves that really took my breath away are all of the pink family  I am a bit astonished that I am more girly than I thought! Wild Singapore, Mythes et Métamorhoses and Tournez Manège. View attachment 5612187View attachment 5612188View attachment 5612189
Good to see you back, and get well! Your scarves are eye candy for us, too, certainly in these colours!
There is a country music ballad by Shania Twain that feels apropos for me this last morning of "Breathless Week." Here is the scarf that started it all for me-- the one that brought me to the party so to speak. Even though there have been so many beauties in the meantime (SO many :panic: ) I always remember my first coup de foudre, my first love, the one I always come back to... so:
Don't let the green grass fool you,
Don't let the moon get to you,
You gotta dance with the one that brought you
And you can't go wrong.

You wear it beautifull, LKBNOLA, love the pairing!
TY for the TP love @Cookiefiend @Nomad @bunnycat @HoneyLocks @Agrume @hotgalaxy @Maedi @LKBNOLA - true confession: there have been so many lovely mod shots of this design that I recently added a darker colorway (not yet worn - one neck and all)

Oooh I’ve not seen modshots of this colorway! It’s beautiful and soothing and pairs divinely with the red top

Absolutely lovely! I’m the type that is drawn to multiples of favored designs as the colorways have a way of creating such different emotions. That being said I encourage the pursuit of the elusive green! It’s sure to appear eventually (and the delight of finding it on h.com enables one to see how it meshes with the wardrobe, mull it over, and return if needed)

An absolute stunner! Made all the more special by being imbued with memories of a fantastic vacation

The colors in it are fabulous together! I love a good lime green, I love but do not have this design, and shall now be on a quest!

Love the flower pairing! And the purple top makes the accents in this beauty sing!

As always a drool-worthy array of styles and colors and pairings!

Oh my heavens if that isn’t the perfect pairing I don’t know what is. Those pops of orange :faint:

My heavens another parade of lovelies! You look marvelous in greens and that Liberty/IP combo is :ps:

What a fabulous knot! This would be breathtaking on so many different color tops!

 Love the flower in PdS and your natural lip is perfect with Zenobie! And I too love the shoes!

Where. To. Begin. :woot: I’ve not seen those colorways of JL or Ameriques - they are spectacular!

Eleftheria is indeed quite mesmerizing! The details go perfectly with the lace!

Puddle of drool! Is that the SE WS?!

The contrast with the top and your blonde locks really makes the scarf stand out!

Wowzers! I must join the Sieste club! And that changeant is so beautifully shimmery!

LOL I think at one time I had both these colorways of CT! (There is quite a lot of churn in my scarf drawer as my space is finite and my desires morph and evolve over time much like a lava lamp) You wear them both beautifully

Glad you are recovering - it’s always a delight to see your smile and silk beauties! I think you and @xincinsin are the first modshots of that WS I’ve seen - love it!!!

I am a lemur fan as well! (Saw them, or at least their eyes reflecting the flashlight, in the forests of Australia!) Perfect knot to show them off and love how the top pulls out all the little details!

I love the softness of Jubatus and the fun brights of the Muffler!
Thank you, Snausages !
this wasn’t the scarf I planned to wear today (I had a PDS to debut!) but this is the one I chose for the day. Still on theme, as this one is breathtaking to me, too. Cite Cavaliere, and an SE, I think?

for @Nomad and the colour crusaders, I managed to match my lippie almost exactly :winkiss: It’s a lip stain (jelly melt) from Sephora, called Samba ;)
You look awesome, perfection to the lipstick!
SOTD is also a scarf that stopped me in my tracks. FoSA

A lovely cw!
Oh you bet I will be looking at that lip stain next time at Sephora. It is indeed a perfect match to your gorgeous sweater color. A wonderful backdrop to your SE. Twins and was going to show mine today too!! So I’ll throw it here. Imperfect tie for sure and will work on it. I Lost my breath when I opened the box on this one.

Thank you for this start to the week @bunnycat and for the wonderful reminders-- The Pokey Little Puppy and Millions of Cats were fan favorites at my house for sure! I believe we are twins on Promenade and I am encouraged by your post to explore my scarf drawer with this playful focus! Already thinking of some...

The playful animals parading around the border of Jardin de la Maharani remind me of a collection of toys. My SOTD came from a lovely scarfie friend, too, so even more special  Twins and sisters with many of you (@HoneyLocks, I am looking at your marvelous post last week :flowers:)...

I remember now. This is our "twinning" shirt (not quite but close... ) I have one so similar and CS looks great on your top so it ought to look good on mine too with the orange CW. :flowers: .

This cw is the best! Lovely!

Thank you @xincinsin for hosting last week’s breathless scarves, and welcome to @bunnycat with her delightful introduction to Toys and Games week.

I adore my gray Dame de Coeur a Vous L’Honneur and wear it frequently. I adore the witty playing cards in the design and have been looking for another, perhaps brighter, colorway of this design.

20220202_095224.jpg

I finally found this blue and purple colorway, and was delighted to see, as often happens with different colorways, how different aspects of the design present themselves.

Wow! That new one you debuted is SUCH a fun cw for this design! Congratulations on finding it! :woot: Also your point about how a cw can affect our impression of the design is so true! I am your sister on the first-- inspired by @momasaurus, @Living.la.vida.fifi and then you @Redbirdhermes I was hunting and then so many cards fell into place for me to get this one! I drew the Queen, I guess...
