So yesterday was the Albany Symphony Orchestra’s performance at our beloved Troy Music Hall, one of the performing arts gems in the world. It was a wonderful performance. At the baton of Maestro David Alan Miller, the orchestra performs with command, authority and lovely musicality. Our orchestra has won two or three Grammys! They played Faure’s Pavane, beautifully but the orchestral version, despite the fact that the Albany Pro Musica was there to perform the world premiere of George Tsontakis’ Requiem, a beautiful work written for his mother but dedicated to the people of Ukraine, and fittingly on Orthodox Easter Sunday. So sad and somber. There was a new work by a composer new to me, Alexis Lamb. Both composers were there. The ASO is internationally known for championing new works and new composers. The crowning glory was a fabulous performance of Mozart’s Jupiter; they knocked it out of the park. For the occasion, I wore two heavens-themed accessories: Clair de Lune and the Satellite scarf ring. I know the work is about the Roman god not the planet but hey! Mozart’s music is heavenly, right? Here is a photo, a very bad one, taken at intermission where my scarf was a bit disheveled. I tried to make an angel wing knot, no luck. So usual bias fold with ring.

How gorgeous, my twin and inspiration! So glad you had a wonderful outing!
Just in the nick of time for a cool, rainy and breezy day here and just enough for an excuse to drag out a cashmere.

My NTM Fleurs et Papillons de Tissues CSGM in one of the 2 color ways I had a low key search for over the past few years.

Here on a nude and black striped shirt that brings out some of the soft pink details it has.
View attachment 5388738

And in full drama mode (how I went outside) with a lightweight black jacket. The jacket is very flown and has drapey assymetric ends that swing like a cape. I call it my "Professor Snape" jacket... I think on black, it tends to make the red parts really stand out as RED.

Bunny, what an extraordinary cw of this design. Very elevated!!
Inspired by @Katharina Luise and my scarf twin @Teaforparrots, I pulled my Chemins de Corail in dusky blue and rust red colors and tried to lighten it up. I normally pair it with more autumn outfits but it is getting a new lease on spring and summer life this week...
With a new burgundy striped mariniere:

And trying a new base color of warm pink:

Lib, this cw is fabulous! I think it may be my favorite of those I have seen so far!!
SOTD is Three Graces Zoom, appropriate for another Zoom Tuesday. Paired with a pink and a black shirt (I settled on the pink).

Twin! This looks lovely. You all are killing me with these flips. It feels like all I can do right now to take one photo! Admiring you all around!

From the archives…..

I know it’s a little much but if you can flip stripes I think I did it here. :P …..the rug is a bonus.

Magjes, not too much at all! What a fantabulous outfit. LOVE!!!
SOTD to take a hike today in the foothills of the Adirondacks. Balade en Berline losange. On another note, was I really writing silly poems at 5:16am?
View attachment 5390989
You early riser! Hope the hike was as lovely as your outfit!
Three attempts with one scarf. I love love love this cw of Le Premier Chant because of the unusual taupe/grey neutrals anchoring the vibrant orange and lovely blues. But it is a challenge for me to imagine other than blue as a base. Then I bought some lovely short-sleeve sweaters (thank you JCrew). What do y'all think? Finally, this is such a very busy scarf that I tend to not think pattern mixing will work, but I tried it with a teeny striped pinky-tan top and I kind of like it...Any and all suggestions welcome!

Lkb, each of these is successful! Beautiful.
My own private Alice Shirley week continues with 3 Graces. I usually wear it to accent the brights but today gave a softer look a try

Some pairings. Le Premier Chant and Presentation de Chevaux with tan: View attachment 5390208View attachment 5390209
I gravitate to red with my Acte III - the green and the red just pop together.

And two “Lifesaver” and ribbon candy colored gavs with kelly green. Sangles and Pegase Pop.

I’m having my own private Alice Shirley week  I’ve tried DUJA with mustard yellow but it works better on white and turquoise

Snausages, an Alice week sounds wonderful. Love your DUJA!! Lucky you!!
I normally would wear my new Tigre Royale with pinks and oranges as well as the neutral charcoal grey. But today I decided to punch up the mauve/purple fronds on the "B side" (or "A side" depending on your pick, but I tend to reach for the quieter side first). I am quite pleased with it! You can't see in the photo but my slightly faded black jeans also pick up the grey tiger colors so I am 100% flipped  Also love the satellite ring worn vertical-- thanks to @Maedi who inspired me to play with it...

Lkb, these looks are all great! Well done!
A few more flips and matches for this week.

Before I decided on the Fleurs et Paillons CSGM the other day, I tried Zebra Pegasus with the nude pink shirt to echo the warm pink tone of the dusty rose ZP in a kind of warm pink and black stripe blend.

View attachment 5390674

Then decided to wait, and wear it later with black for contrast...(I'm so original...)

View attachment 5390676

I most often wear this Tout en Quilt with pink or purple (since there is so much there!) but a few months ago I tried it with the eye-searingly bright H orange cashmere sweater to echo the warm corals and peaches found on it for more of blended look. (If that is possible... ) The softer peaches recede in to the backdrop of the bright orange shirt.

View attachment 5390677

And then today decided to try to pair it with some of the brown and bronze shaded details on it. Here the peach shades stand out.

Bunny, you definitely wound up with the right zebra. This one sings on you!!
Bingata with jeans and green cardigan and Tee. Did I flip it?
And a bonus cat tail.

View attachment 5390812

View attachment 5390813
Mardi, I love this bingata, especially with the first outfit. And who doesn't love a cat tail cameo!!

After all the orange yesterday, some quieter colours. Navy is one of the easiest colours to combine, be it top or scarf. It brings out bright contrast hems and dots of colours. Rendez-vous Rive Gauche with navy and turquoise from last summer, and a navy top with De passage à Tokyo (and a nearly matching bag) from last week.

TY! It’s from a local jewelry artist whose sales come primarily from a 2x year outdoor arts festival. I have a growing collection of his unique pendants and the festival is coming up next week!

So sorry about the pooches! I’ve got an elderly girl with all sorts of elderly issues so I get how brain space-consuming that is. The scarf is a gorgeous shade of orange!

Excellent pinks on the tiger and every combo with PC is <chef’s kiss>. I need you to come dress me every morning

The rose really pops against the black top and I am in love with both looks for TeQ!

I’m so glad I’m not the only one! I typically don’t keep scarves that only go with white but it’s too pretty to rehome. @scarf1 suggested the blues and I overcame my fear of looking like a walking blueberry  She’d also suggested picking up the pinks of the flowers so that’s my next mission!

Wonderful ensemble and the rug is indeed a bonus!

TY! I am in search of a lighter weight yellow top that has some frills because I *will* make it work!

 Cat tail as bonus! I think she’s suggesting a dark brown for an alternative

Yay twins! You make navy so elegant and I love how it picks up the pops of lighter blue in Rendezvous. The Tokyo looks great against the black backdrop - very dramatic yet appropriate for day looks

I love her!!!!

TY And all your looks are marvelous! That double face really is suited for so many outfits! And I lovelovelove grey and red

It’s terrific with the blue!

Beautiful combo! You always have the loveliest earrings to complement your scarves

Looks great with black AND with brown :dog:

Oldie but goodie!

How exciting to go out again! Excellent looks!
Hugs: Such lovely compliments.

In early May, we are going to our first wedding since the pandemic! New England is still very cool, so I am planning on my beloved CU shawl to accompany a jacket for pre-wedding drinks on Friday, and the same shawl to keep me from freezing during the outdoor ceremony and tent dinner. Cannot overstate how exciting it is to dress up again! And an H beauty certainly beats a cardigan!

You will look so chic, French Girl, I hope you will post mod shots. The dress is very elegant and that blue CU is perfect. It’s GORGEOUS. We are sisters because I have the rose cw. I tried on the blue at H in the Financial District in NYC, and I liked it bery much but because I have Acte III CSGM in the bleu jean cw, I just couldn’t buy it. I came home with Tigre Royal Fleuri 70 instead.

sotd is Flowers of South Africa on this cold rainy day. I tried to highlight the white with my tie and my top. I actually thought of @Snausages bright green cardi so I could see if it pulled out the green in the scarf. But I own only 1 green top and it’s teal/sage Which wouldn’t work.

you are making it really hard not to own this beauty!! amazing against the top, which I love too. Great color and fabric

I always gravitate to the stunning contrast like with the zebra on black. But both looks are so good! And tout has the best colors in it! I regret not buying this myself when I had the chance.

You found yourself a very elusive scarf. Many congratulations!! It took me over two years to find mine in this colorway. It was the one cw/design that threw me, not so gently, down the orange slope.

absolutely wonderful colors with your scarf.

wow love all the looks. All of this is my color wheelhouse. And that white hem is the best

oh my gosh so cute with those wide white paws!

i am not a double face convert. This design has great sides to it

hahah love it with the rug. I have a zebra rug in my office and love it. You got the zebra head on the scarf perfect ha

it’s perfect with the blue. Congratulations again. washes really are great

The match with your top doesn’t get any better.

wow now this all is H magic. Perfectly tied together looks. I am partial to the striped look best. The scale with the scarf, the juxtaposition of the cascading hemline against the horizontal stripes, and the not perfectly matchy matchy color of the top just puts it above.

Ooooo so pretty peaking out with the drop earrings .

Thank you kindly Nomad!

Good grief this day just flew by! I've been dealing with computer issues all day, and failed operating system updates (DH, who is a computer engineer, says there's a reason he calls it "Crapple"... :P ).

Anyhoo, here I am trying to coordinate my lipstick to my scarf to stay on theme.

Scarf is "La Selle Imaginaire" in Gris Perle, Violet, Orange and Jaune by Jan Bajtlik. I adore it.
