Marvelous silks all! My fav is Kawa Ora and am glad to be your twin, but must say that the Wild Singapore is breathtaking

What a wonderful CW and this is such a great knot to show certain parts of the design

The CW I should’ve gotten... Fabulous

Such a beauty!

I adore this Sarasa... Ties so beautifully! Love it with the Fifi Knot (yes, that was the original name for this knot... LOL!)

Both awesome! Love the blue Sweet Dreams

Love this design so much! It ties like a dream... I own the black bit had never seen your blue... Stunning!

Love your Edots! All silks are spectacular.. and, we are actually triplets on that sublime Samourais... Thank you for attaching Mai Tai’s video... Her app is such a great tool... This is an amazing knot which I will definitely try

Looks marvelous! Such a beautiful Maharani!

Thank you so much! The earrings are the Dior Tribales

Fabulosity right here! And, you did such an awesome job on the knot!

What a gorgeous Kuna! Had never seen this fabulous CW

So it was you who got it! Couldn’t be more beautiful and love it on you! Maybe some day!

This was the CW I originally wanted as well... It is exquisite! I am very happy with mine, but boy is this gorgeous!

Love this classic beauty and the painterly quality of the illustration

Great scarf and he is sooo adorable!
Fifi, so interesting that you say this about Jeu de Cartes. I bought this one AND the one you have (which is awesome) and posted pix and took a poll. Everyone except DD opted for the blue one, so I kept that one. I recently came across the pix, and was happy with my choice. Blue is better for me. I think pink/black is better for you!

Dear @Croisette7 absolute command of wearing mostly white scarves (which I’ve previously avoided) and the gold detailed classics (which I’m feeling nostalgic about) influenced me to add my first L’Instruction du Roy (I know- it’s about dang time!) w/both elements (plus it’s jacquard)...
 ideal or overkill?

I feel out of my depth here... how do I optimally style it?! (It’s actually off white IRL so my white button-down is a mismatch)

Here’s my SOTD fan-girl snail knot with softly metallic silver top
View attachment 5002449
Alt tried the more open asymmetric tie paired with black & even more neutral lip (which I think looks better?)
View attachment 5002451
Open to suggestions dear scarfies :confused1:
These are nice. I have 2 CWs of this design (navy and forest green). How about starting with a bias fold, which will show less of the white corners? Also I think it looks cool with the silver blouse!

I came up with this knot a couple of years ago and when I posted a picture of Kawa Ora on Instagram using this knot, a sweet IG friend called it The Octopus Knot. It is really quite easy to make and can turn out different every time, depending on the texture and softness of the scarf and also depending on whether you choose to execute the last step or not.
I will post pictures of the process below this post. But, first, a few examples of the Octopus Knot that will hopefully display Many different ways that this knot can turn out.

The first is with Kawa Ora

Your collection is museum worthy-- so spectacular. Wearing your beauties out and about, you remind me of the Marge Piercy poem To Be of Use: "Greek amphoras for wine and oil,/Hopi vases that held corn, are put in museums. But you know, they were made to be used." And always so stylish, too.

That cw is so elegant, LKBNOLA. Seeing @Pampelmuse’s and your IPs, the conclusion is that this is a design that is stunning in every cw. Your cw must look fab with a white cotton or silk shirt. Yummy.
Thank you! I often wear it with white and navy of course, but it also really pops with deep pink and aqua and kelly green. Any saturated color, really. And I love that you can fuss with it, of course, but not required at all. Good for a newbie!

Good morning all. I am recovering from second covid shot and feeling not so wonderful-- I hope to feel well enough later to play with some knots. But I do have field notes from my post-vax expedition to the H boutique in Short Hills mall. SA says they have nothing from SS2021 except Selles des Steppes and Zambeze and Swinging St. Germain. I did not look at other formats. They were kind enough to give me the SS booklet. I am happy to take pics and post if that is allowed. I gave my wish list and left with a twilly for my niece's 18th birthday (start them young!) and a wash Colliers et Chiens in blue, which as usual is so much lovelier in person. The dog portraits make me smile. Happy Friday, Scarfies.

@Cookiefiend Your posts come with beautiful silks and the bonus of a smile guarantee.
@turfnsurf Your silks and outfits always look so polished.
@laurenad Love these knots and scarves! How do you make the second one with scarf ring? It looks terrific.
@Redbirdhermes so inspiring the way you pair your beautiful scarves and jewelry!
@hotgalaxy this season's cws really suit you so well and I adore your choices.
@Karenska I love the 70's for cape cod summer weather and really appreciated seeing your notes. I always default to something unoriginal because they are so soft and slippery but you and @Yoon daily scarf have made them look so good with more interesting knots.
Haven't got multiquote down yet but I will get there!

Both JL rainbows & SanglesZZ are astounding tied like this! I’ve been afraid of this tie having too much movement, but really ought to give it a try- as it looks so good on you.

Love these- especially with the tweed jacket :hbeat:

Thanks toots ;)

More fantastic tweed - that gav is perfect! :faint:
(glad sweet princess Coco has an assortment of toys to keep her happy)

This scarf body shade just looooves your skin! (maybe the shine from the jacquard assists? I’m not sure, but you glow) :beach:

-Thank You for such helpful video links! MaiTai’s method is simpler than another version I previously found
-I like the Friendship Knot tied in the looser way you’ve done (who knew it would work with a 70 :wtf:)
-Pink is a very flattering scarf color on you
-Pearls draped over scarf tails is charming!

Thanks! Can’t wait to see what knots you wear it with (I’m taking notes) :giggle:

You’re always schooling me; another cw I’ve yet to see. Totally surprised when I scrolled to flat lay pic and saw that blue border! :panic:

Yes! A 90 may be too much silk; I’d stick to 70, gav or twillies. Rock it :rochard:

That Offrandes is sooo pretty!
Congrats on your new Paddock- I have total purple envy

I’m a huge fan of the regular cowboy & just draping ends. Also love the way you highlighted the Rodeo charm :happydance:

Waterfall cowboy with that lippie...
Thank you so much - you are so sweet!
Coco has a bounty of toys - in various states of disrepair - but I went through them and threw out the demolished ones (anything with stuffing hanging out) and bought new ones. That one in the picture is a VERY squeaky blue dinosaur - she loves it!

Ohmygosh - so BEAUTIFUL!
As @Langsam noted, my Daimyo Princes is the same colorway, and I wear it all the time with blue chambray. It's also great with a blue and white striped blouse or a dark gray sweater. It is a beautiful scarf.
LOL! I often have days like this! I am your twin on that marvelous L’Ivresse and always forget to reach for it... Great knots! And, that mousseline is breathtaking

I think you did a stellar job here! So great to lay out all the tings you used

Fabulous and love your smile and your lipstick

My Appaloosa, too... Looks fabulous

Truly a spectacular design and so lovely in both of these two very different Cws... Each a totally different vibe

Love all three, but especially the Tigre Royale Fleuri... What a wonderful knot for it!

Amazing how the knot works for these formats! Gotta try it!

Such a delicate beauty!

Love how the knot came out... This is such an amazing jacquard

What a wonderful parade of silks, all masterfully tied! Must try the Friendship Knot... Very useful and neat!

Aaaah, yet another gorgeous CW!

What a gorgeous Groenland!

Congrats on your new job, and these are both fabulous!

What a beautiful and elegant Grand Tenue! And the necklace is outstanding!

Oh all so beautiful! Love all the silks and fantastic knots!

You look amazing... What a fabulous Cw!

So fabulous Bunny! i also like to tie my shawls cowboy style with waterfall sides like you... Such a classic and elegant shawl

Rocking the Bias Fold again! Such amazing silks!

Beautiful!

I love this design and this is is gorgeous CW... Great knot for it

What a beauty it is!

Great show of whites! I just adore white jacquards
Thanks cutie! :hugs:
I have had similar wistfulness (looking at my scarf drawer full of "comfort zone" scarves). Then I remind myself that every purchase had some aspect about it that was novel or boundary-pushing for my taste at that time. It's all part of the journey! Even if you missed some past beauties, there are always more coming. BTW, your IP is gorgeous.
Yes!!
It's all part of the journey. :hugs:

Holy guacamole! :faint:
This is such a great knot - really spectacular!
These are the steps to make the Octopus Knot of my previous post.

First of all, you fold the scarf in half lengthwise to make a rectangle and place over your shoulders with all the points facing down and in front of you.

You will need a chain d’ancre scarf ring or buckle.

First step, you insert the two ends closest to your neck each through the openings of the scarf ring like so...
View attachment 5002512

You then take the end to your right and insert through the scarf ring opening on the right pointing upwards
View attachment 5002513
View attachment 5002514

You do the same with the left side
View attachment 5002515
View attachment 5002516

Pull these two corners you have inserted up and out. At this point, you can stop and fluff the sides and adjust the points and be done with the knot
View attachment 5002517

Or, you can also continue with these steps...
You can take the long points that you first inserted downwards through the scarf ring and insert through the openings of the scarf ring going upwards, like this...
View attachment 5002518
View attachment 5002519
View attachment 5002520

And do the same with the other side
View attachment 5002523
View attachment 5002521

and, voila!
View attachment 5002522

Fluff and arrange. You may reference my previous post that showed a few Octopus Knot examples. Some stopped at the 6th picture and some were made by continuing on
A HA!!!!
Now I know what I've been doing wrong! The second set of tails go in pointing UP!
Folks - lemme tell you - going up with the bottom tails (instead of inserting them downward like the top set of tails) prevents the 'Super Sad Octopus' look... which I've had more times than I can count, accompanied but the Sad Tuba sound.
Imma tryin' this!

:roflmfao: Omigosh, that’s me. Rush, rush, forgot this, where’s that... and on it goes. You look fab in all three, knots beautiful, that pink scarf is gorgeous but I must say that moussie is TDF :faint: .
:giggle: Thanks sweetie!
I’ve always been in awe of people who can carry off the scarf in hair look, decided to give it a go, not sure I’d venture in public like this?

LOVE!
I love your bias fold knots! I'll definitely try this one  And you matched your navy gavroche with your tweed jacket so perfectly! Actually, I've been try to match my scarves with my tweed jackets, but it wasn't easy for me. Your gorgeous mod shot inspired me a lot  It's so cool how you pulled your blue blouse collar out of your jacket. I think It blends the colors of your jacket and gavroche. Love it!!

I love your Cristaux wash, and your T-shirt and cardigan goes so well with your scarf! Your HBK is so beautiful :hbeat:

Beautiful headscarf, and beautiful sunshine!! Love this picture, It seems like spring. Thanks for sharing !

Oh I love your arrangement ! With this new style, the borders of your beautiful scarf are more dramatic and vibrant. I'll try this one too!! Thanks a lot for sharing, dear @Snausages :hbeat:

Gorgeous knot and scarf, dear @LKBNOLA !!
This dark navy CW is so stunning and chic

Thanks a lot for your sweet comments, dear @turfnsurf :hbeat: I like Maitai's tutorials too, they're so clear to follow! ♡ And I like the loose Friendship knot than tight one, because I prefer shorter tails. And I recommend the friendship knot with Carrè 70 to you! It's more comfortable and cheerful

Thank you so much, dearest @Living.la.vida.fifi
Wow I 'm so glad we're triplets on Samourais!!! I love your knots with Samourais, It's a pleasure to see your beautiful arrangements complete this scarf's beauty.
I'll try your Edot knot style, the drapes are so beautiful. And I'm looking forward to see your Ondulation knot too!! :hugs:

Wow I love your knots and coordinations!! I especially like the silvery top, it's color and texture goes so well with your L’Instruction du Roy's rough grey patterns  Andyour neutral lip color is so gorgeous

I appreciate it, dear @Living.la.vida.fifi  I love this useful knot, glad you like it too! Can't wait to see your friendship knot too

Sorry I missed the ‘favorite designer’ theme last week...It’s hard to pick one but my recent favorite has to be Alice Shirley. She has totally changed my view of animal prints (of which I’m not a big fan). Here’s me with my Mountain Zebra 90.
