So glad to hear you’re okay thus far and you and your fur babies are safe & relatively warm (thanks in part to vitamin H & bed kitties).Today wearing another designer I am very fond of (Annie Faivre) in a format I have come to love. This past week has been very rough. With our house temps turned down to try and avoid power outages, my days were spent buried in cashmere, layered on top of my fuzzy house robe, which was over my winter sweaters and pants plus 2 layers of socks and house slippers....and I hope you'll forgive the lack of photo evidence. And by night I would pile on the cats and surprisingly, my cotton pareos became indispensable night gear after I fell asleep in one some afternoon and decided a really warm neck was a good thing and "hey...washable!" So I started wearing them to sleep at night during the coldest of the cold
and they are now my faithful friends.

And not quite on topic unless we can consider a future love.....I have longed for a Kyoto Marble silk since I first saw them, but never really got it together on the first floral one, and tho I love the marbling technique, wasn't as fond of the second design. So I am thrilled to put this little wonder in to Mr Bcat's SGV for now and await the acquisition of this pretty pink specialness.
This is the best of both world's for me. I won't have to deal with the dreaded white background, but get the beautiful flower from the first batch of scarves by them I liked so much.

❤❤❤
Yes - doubles! PC is one of my favorites, especially that first one. It’s truly an example of H Magic - no one but H would ever put those colors together in such a fabulous way!
This is a very dangerous thread- it should have a warning sign!
Some of my most loved scarves have a few flaws - I don’t even notice them. The red based ELenK as my first, I love it, and I am so happy to be your twin. ❤
oh honey. You’ve had a rough week.
Congratulations on the marble scarf - it is as beautiful as you are.
(beautiful!)
The week is coming to an end, and I must mention the Ardmore Artists, beginning with La Marche du Zambeze

I never would’ve thought about using a pareo as sleepwear; that’s using your noodle!
(Congrats on your AMAZING marble silk- the pink should definitely be less worrisome)

Happy New Year, finally catching up myselfSurfacing finally for a breath of fresh air! It's been an exhausting New Year. Normally we have a flurry of activities and visitors on the eve and the first day. Due to restrictions on the number of visitors per day, this year the busy period stretched to 3 days.
While I catch up with 30 pages of posts, here's my new year SOTD:
New acquisition Jonquilles worn with an orange top with swirly design for the New Year eve when family came to our house, and paired with a red dress and jade bangle for the second day of the new year when we went visiting. I spent the first day in the kitchen cooking

The past few years, the lucky red packets have been quite cartoony. This year, I'm glad that many designs feature traditional motifs. Here are a selection: lotus, modern interpretation and traditional papercut of an ox, plum blossom and florals in updated turquoise and blue/orange colour schemes. And in the 2nd row, pretty paired designs: Dragon and Phoenix, and the treasure tray of new year goodies. I made two sets of lanterns: one in bright colours for my SIL, and one in deep red for my home.
