Just found out Now Voyager starts at 5:45 on TCM. I’ve seen it so many times but I love it. I don’t think Bette Davis had a more glamorous role. Two cigarettes on a match! I just put a roast chicken in the oven and, since my DH is working on his book and we will toast at dinnertime, I’ll watch it for awhile, at least up until her amazing “transformation”, with a glass of viognier and wearing one of my favorite H dudes’ masterpieces, Dans l’Atelier de Robert Dallet.

I have this beautiful scarf in blue! Love how you showcase your pendant and the perfect match of scarf and sweater! Also your afternoon of Now Voyager on TCM followed by roast chicken sounds like a perfect plan.

Happy Valentine’s Day my scarfie friends!
I thought I would share a few of my scarves that feature hearts or couples or other amorous themes to kick off Sweetheart Week...

Such beautiful choices, Fifi! Twins with Rainbow JL, sisters with La Comedie Italienne. Your BdG Love is swoon-worthy. :girlsigh:
Here is an archive photo of my LCI. Every time this scarf is referenced or modeled, some sprightly notes of Stravinsky’s Pulcinella Suite pop into my head! Such an iconic design by our darling Monsieur Ledoux.

Thank you, LKBNOLA. I would love to see yours modeled, if you don’t mind. I treasure this design. :hbeat: Yes, the afternoon was rather delightful!

Gobsmacked! Croisette, this is stunning. I must check this design out by one of my top, top favorite H artistes. I will also model my Art Nouveau cameo, that I purchased at the Albany Institute of History and Art many years ago. Yours is very lovely.

This is wonderful in the blue cw!

And there was a glorious Scythian exhibition at the British Museum a few year ago as well, completely mindblowing. For me it was incredibly touching and humbling to see the pieces of fur, very neatly cut into to thin strips and sewn together to make probably a cape or a coat. To see this painstaking work, doubtlessly made with a bone needle and thin tendons used as thread was bsolutely marvellous. I dabble in this hobby sewing sheepskins into cushions and large throws, but with all the proper tools, and that crafstman so many hundred years ago outdid me big time. So, had to get a preloved scarf commemorating this, and it took a long time to get one in a very delicate pinkish cream with the motives picked out in a brownish shade, as Hermes gold and I don't mix very well - I really love that scarf:smile:
Eliwon, thank you, such interesting information. I am a needleworker, too, and it is, as you say, painstaking, even with the best tools and conditions. But I love it. A dear friend, who sadly passed away with pancreatic cancer years ago, would often say that just having a needle in her hand calmed her.

I would love to see it, if you are so inclined to model it, Eliwon.

Hello Karenska,

What a lovely combo! I am not sure if it sounds convincing to you, but I find the Lift pendant quite versatile, especially since the length can be adjusted. But, I only have a black one - still on a lookout for a gold one. Regarding the waxed cotton cord -it is clearly stated on H.com that this is the case. The cord does not stain clothes or scarves, which might be the case with leather cords. If it is bothering you, I am sure you could find leather cords at a cobbler and replace the original one with. But again, no guarantee how the leather cord would perform in terms of staining, etc.

hope it helps!
Many thanks to you, Persimmon, for your input. Very important and valuable information; I will think about this. And many thanks to @Bova123 , @xincinsin ,@Agrume, @bunnycat and @LKBNOLA for your valuable input, too. I hope I haven’t missed anyone.
