The parade of scarf paradise is slaying me.... :faint: :faint: :faint:

The perfect Valentines design! Love it when it’s tied to display those corner hearts!

So many beauties!

Great intro, Cookie! And, I share your enthusiasm for Aline Honoré as she is also my favorite Hermès designer

Well, Hermes issued the Cavaliers d’Or carré in 1975 to accompany the Scythian art exhibit “From the Land of the Scythians” at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The exhibit consisted of nearly 200 objects from Scythian and other ancient civilizations occupying territories north of the Black Sea which are now part of Russia. Those rare pieces are part of the permanent collection of the Hermitage Museum and many had been recently excavated when the exhibit took place. The exhibit signaled the beginning of cultural exchanges between the US and the Soviet Union. Arriving from Asia, the Scythians were known for their gold-working techniques which heavily influenced jewelry design before the Christian era. The commemorative scarf displays a layout of important pieces from the Hermitage collection which were shown in the 1975 exhibition. In conjunction, the Met Museum also produced jewelry reproduction pieces to accompany the exhibition. At the time, I was not into scarves, but collected jewelry and I amassed most of the pieces issued by the museum.

My favorite BdG in the best CW

Changed into a more traditional Valentine's Day color for a toast with my valentine. View attachment 4990856
This is so gorgeous, Awillow!

Just found out Now Voyager starts at 5:45 on TCM. I’ve seen it so many times but I love it. I don’t think Bette Davis had a more glamorous role. Two cigarettes on a match! I just put a roast chicken in the oven and, since my DH is working on his book and we will toast at dinnertime, I’ll watch it for awhile, at least up until her amazing “transformation”, with a glass of viognier and wearing one of my favorite H dudes’ masterpieces, Dans l’Atelier de Robert Dallet.

I think I may have more scarves by Aline Honore than any other single designer. At any rate, one of the first designs I fell really hard for was au coeur de la vie. Which I have in 4 CWs.still hope to find the moussie one day.
there Is quite a variety in her designs.
the Red border one is from 2007, the rest are from 2014...

All amazing. Now I ask you and @Pirula : why don't i have Les Ailes???

Thank you, dear Fifi, for your compliments. And for this very interesting information. How I wish I’d seen that exhibit! I’m sure it was amazing. And yes, @Croisette7’s Coeur is the perfect Valentine carré!

And there was a glorious Scythian exhibition at the British Museum a few year ago as well, completely mindblowing. For me it was incredibly touching and humbling to see the pieces of fur, very neatly cut into to thin strips and sewn together to make probably a cape or a coat. To see this painstaking work, doubtlessly made with a bone needle and thin tendons used as thread was bsolutely marvellous. I dabble in this hobby sewing sheepskins into cushions and large throws, but with all the proper tools, and that crafstman so many hundred years ago outdid me big time. So, had to get a preloved scarf commemorating this, and it took a long time to get one in a very delicate pinkish cream with the motives picked out in a brownish shade, as Hermes gold and I don't mix very well - I really love that scarf:-)

Wearing an appropriate hot pink on this day to express my deep love for Philippe Ledoux’s artistry here with Promenades de Paris. Also my new Lift Pendant with tag as I am not sure I’m keeping it. The cord is cloth! I’m fairly underwhelmed but I do welcome your thoughts, dear Scarfies. :hugs: View attachment 4990794
Hello Karenska,

What a lovely combo! I am not sure if it sounds convincing to you, but I find the Lift pendant quite versatile, especially since the length can be adjusted. But, I only have a black one - still on a lookout for a gold one. Regarding the waxed cotton cord -it is clearly stated on H.com that this is the case. The cord does not stain clothes or scarves, which might be the case with leather cords. If it is bothering you, I am sure you could find leather cords at a cobbler and replace the original one with. But again, no guarantee how the leather cord would perform in terms of staining, etc.

hope it helps!
