Perfectly cozy for inside wear! (Which is the only place to be in snowy weather!)

Thank you for a lovely introduction @Agrume . I do hope to visit Amsterdam someday post COVID!!

One of my favorite ways to snuggle up for warmth: a cashmere turtleneck paired with a CSGM that is nice and organized for working from home and cooking...so very cold here today as we await the expected snowstorm here in New England! (people are always amazed when they see the size of a shawl unfurled when I wear it like this LOL!!)

When the tough get cold, they put on cashmere.....

Do I get double points for bundled winter warmth plus the ice fishing (?????) scene?

I can well imagine! It looks perfect with the turtleneck. I tend to "spread mine out" and even then MrBcat  when I unfurl the vasty expanse of CSGM warmth. His usual comment goes "That's a freakin' blanket!" and I respond "yaaaaaasssss :woot: "

Beautiful in that CW, bunnycat!

Thank you kindly Croisette!

Great intro and lovely scarf. Timely too since we have snow here today! I don’t have any winter themed scarves, but I did bundle up very recently:

Impressive! I have tried to tie a cSGM so small. Looks great on you!

My au pays des oiseaux-fleurs that I wore yesterday. One pic is the way I wore it that day, and the other is because I wanted you all to see how gorgeous in black it is.

And what I wore today. I sometimes like to be a LoT of fun w my clothes . So this is me in black base patisserie.

View attachment 4975468
And the last of my black.... with Tourbillons....my moody night sky with Into the Canadian Wild...and had to throw in my vintage La France with its pictorial sketch work in grays??
All so awesome! I love that Pays des Oiseaux CW... and La France is such a classic. Mine is the red but I adore your yellow CW

Good morning, dear fellow scarfies,

this week is about the delights of winter. Winter is not only about dark, bleak evenings, long nights and cold hands and toes. It is also about fun outside: skating and skiing, building snowmen and feeling snug and wam in a thick coat with hat and gloves and of course a scarf. Here in The Netherlands, we have a long tradition of skating whenever and wherever it is possible. In Amsterdam, every 10 years or so it is cold enough to skate on the frozen canals, a magic experience.

The quintessential winter scarf for me is Les plaisirs du froid, The delights of the cold, showing skaters and a winter scene reminiscent of the famous winter landscapes (“wintertjes”) of the deaf painter Hendrik Avercamp.

So this week, show us your scarves evoking winter pleasures, and also how you keep warm in the cold. Do you combine scarves? Do you wear wintry motives only in the weeks before Christmas (or also in summer)? What colours do you associate with winter? For those in warmer climates, how do you use scarves to ward off the chill of air conditioning or evening dinners outside? Looking forward to see your treasures!

Wonderful intro and this is such a great theme

Warm and cozy with Peuple du Vent CSGM today

So stunning!

I am cozy this morning in Sangles en Zigzag shawl. Also a beloved H overcoat I bought on evilbay several years ago. View attachment 4975579
What a great winter look!

A bit late to the party.
Finally I managed to dig out my black/dark scarves and I was surprised at how many I have!

Oh, so many beauties!

One more dark scarf before I look for my winter wonderlands and participate in @Agrume’s very appropriate theme this week. A plisse I adore - Cosmos, in rich purples and aubergines.View attachment 4975601
Cosmos is so great in this format... and, stunning colors!

Minus -13 degrees and sun! A wonderful day in the archipelago with Formule Chic.View attachment 4975605
Wonderful scarf and look

Kind of on theme this snowy Sunday with an icy colorway of Robe du SoirView attachment 4975659
Robe de Soir is such a fabulous design... It almost shimmers! This is a great CW

Thank you for the introduction for Winter week, @Agrume. During one winter when DH was in graduate school the pond across the street from our apartment froze perfectly smooth. It was the only time in my life skating on wild, ungroomed ice, and it was a thrilling experience. Such freedom and so different from an ice rink or an oval.

Sharing my memories of pond ice skating with the delightful skaters in Joies d'Hiver.

Well, I am definitely in awe... How ever in the world were you able to bring it down to that size?!

I must try that knot, Bova ... looks elegant on you!
Thank you Croisette...I thought I had seen this knot on you many years ago! :hugs:

The best blanket ever right??
Impressive! I have tried to tie a cSGM so small. Looks great on you!
Thank you scarf1...sometimes I like to keep the shawl "contained" and other times I will wear it in a more typical fashion!

Well, I am definitely in awe... How ever in the world were you able to bring it down to that size?!
Thanks fifi...I simply keep the shawl in its' rectangular shape from the box, fold it over again lengthwise to an even narrower rectangle, and then tie in the classic weave knot. Give it a try, I find it quite warm and handy when I don't want too much bulk, especially if I'll be wearing a bulky winter coat.

What a great way to tie a CSGM! Is that a Hacking knot?
ETA: Never mind! I see you have described the knot. Definitely going to try this!

Thank you for the explanation... It is such an useful knot, perfect to keep warm while wearing with a coat!

Well, due to the frigid temperatures up north working their way south, we are bracing ourselves here in the Tropics for temps in the 40s this coming week! Woohooo! Shawl weather, here I come! (Yup, folks, 40 degree weather is bitter tundra to us)... Although, alas, I don’t own any winter-themed shawls! Nor, do I own many winter-themed scarves, but I’ll show the few that qualify in my collex and will probably be stretching out the theme a bit the rest of the week...
Beginning with the obvious, and my favorite: Noël au 24 Faubourg
