A few archives of black scarves or scarves with black to stay on theme. Baobab cat needs to be worn this week so I can try that cute knot @MAGJES showed off this week on her 3 colorways. Love the poster @Redbirdhermes i hope my little loves Star Wars the same way and Harry Potter. We got the illustrated series as a family Christmas present but are waiting for her to be a bit older before cracking into them. All books first, no movies!

Thank you, bunny. I continue to struggle with multiquotes, so I will tell you here what a great intro that was. I love your blacks!!

Interestingly, I heard a piece from the bbc on npr last night about the competition over the blackest blacks and read up a bit on it .
Vantablack (created around 2014) was for a while the blackest black, but was apparently superseded by black 3.0 (2019). The discussion courts controversy because of the resulting proprietary nature of color (continued with anish kapoor over his creation of the pinkest pink).

Fascinating. I also added the word nyctophilia to my vocabulary - a love of night or darkness.

thank you my dears.

Thank you Awillow! I do remember the ongoing saga with Vantablack, and the ensuing competitors who made black blacks that anyone EXCEPT Kapoor was allowed to purchase. (Granted, I think Vantablack is explosive until dry...so I'd choose something non explosive any day!)

Oh man. I didn’t realize this was going to post! I backspaced everything after I started because it was going to be too long! My ipad must have saved what I started. I’ll finish quickly!

My dear SIL would get up at night at 2am for 3 weeks to hunt for Eleanor - he thought she was scared and hiding during the day. He put out fliers. He posted ads in the neighborhood FB group, etc. He received messages - lots of “sightings” but no Eleanor. Finding Eleanor consumed him.
Fast forward a month later....We decided that Eleanor had to have been rescued by someone that realized how special she was and now lived with them. (This is what we told my 2 1/2 granddaughter).
6 weeks later......My SIL decides to adopt a little kitten. Literally while picking her up he receives a call from someone that found Eleanor. A complete stranger that happened to find her hiding behind a car wash. He caught her, brought her home, feed her, searched the lost cat ads till he found my SIL’s, then drove her to my daughter’s house. This guy also refused the reward money offered.
Poor Eleanor was skin and bones but she was finally home......and is now best friends with the new kitty named “Fiona.”

I think this is on topic because she was a ‘wild” cat for a brief period!
and oh - the car wash was 10 miles away.
Hate that Eleanor got lost & skinny, but SO GLAD she was found. Additional upside is another kitty gained a great home out of the ordeal.

Ugh! Cliffhanger! I need to know what happened to Eleanor.

And to stay on topic: a few wild things with their real life counterparts:

I know I must sound like a broken record, but such.awesome.posts you make (my attempt at Star Wars humor) :borg:

Thank you- oh, stylish one ;)
You wear all that silk so effortlessly.

Sneaking in under the wire, archive pics of my two Dallets, the Equateur MT Cut and the Jungle Love Love twilly. Two of my favorite scarves because of their bright colors, in addition to the beauty of Dallet's designs.

SOTD, not on this week’s, but View attachment 4968050View attachment 4968051last week’s topic: La Vie du Grand Nord. The polarbear and its hunter... My brooch, which is one that the indigenous people ( =samer) wear with their traditional clothes in northern Scandinavia, resembles the snowflake in the midst. I like the idea of connection between the two.
Love it!
...and totally on topic worn w/black

gorgeous scarves, Croisette! I hope to find a L’intrus one day...

At the end of the school year a Star Wars exhibit came to town and a school bus took the 4th graders to see it. My 5th grade son was invited along as a special guest. He wondered aloud why only he got invited to go? I said they probably knew you liked Star Wars. Him: How did they know? Me: Your t-shirts probably clued them in.

This poster still hangs in his childhood bedroom.

I am going to need a Space Derby scarf.

In the meantime, today I'm channeling the Dark Side with Dame de Coeur. I know I'm twins with the amazing @momasaurus and probably others.

Good luck with the knot, Foxy!

We had a nerd week last year, Foxy (May 4th you know ). I wore many Star Wars T-shirts that week. We also have many Douglas Adams fans among the crowd and we ponder Life, the Universe and Everything in this Long Dark Tea-time of the Soul.

Thank you, Croisette. After I acquired this, @Living.la.vida.fifi informed me that there was a jacquard version, which set me off on the hunt again. I hope someday to get Les Chats Persans.

She is a bundle of fun. Currently, she is sitting on next door neighbour's garage roof and refusing to go home (home is the opposite neighbour). An expert runaway kitty. Some mornings, she finds her way via arcane means to my upstairs balcony and yowls till we let her in (I think she climbs the rambutan tree in the back neighbour's garden. DS thinks she crosses over the party roof from next door).

I think she hears all too well. She pops out from nowhere when we return from work and follows us into the house. Sometimes, when she is in a good mood, she carries on a long conversation with my son.
My white cat never could understand why he was unsuccessful at stalking. He would stand perfectly still, staring at a bird, and think he was invisible. I'm like -- YOU LOOK LIKE YOU'RE UNDER A SPOTLIGHT!!!
