Black you say? What can I do with black?

In color theory, black is not the absence of color, but rather the combination of all colors at once. The color we know as black is the absorption of all the individual colors of the light spectrum as opposed to the reflection of all colors (white). Actually, color itself is made by the reflection of the one portion of the light spectrum in an object and the absorption of all the others.

And you may say "Well, that is interesting, but how are we going to get through a full week of darks and blacks?" Well, hold my beer...:biggrin:

My friends...let me introduce you to a favorite picture of mine. ( I made it last time we did black week. ) I give you the "black-spectrum". :lol:

Black tends to be considered the color of power, sophistication, elegance, drama, mystery and also sadness. Although I will call it moodiness here for our purposes.

Without further ado, let's gt creative with our grey and blacks this week!


Full black on black with Lucky Stripes men's cotton losange (and full mystery and drama with the McQueen t-shirt).

Blue and deeep black leather ended maxi twilly on deep green for some black on color action.

(sorry for including the shoes and purses - it’s from my Stylebook app Packing list)
I put them in a large ziplock bag, between 2 pieces of heavy paper and they either go in my purse (the big black Longchamp Pliage) or in my carry on. They are always with me, never checked. I always take scarves with me - wore 2 today - the moussie losange on my hat and Baobab Cat around my neck. ❤

Such a great scarf, my twin. I love your styling here! That caramel top softens the look really nicely.

Thank you, moma. My favorite styling technique is to match my top to one of the minor colors in the scarf. Since the color is already in there, the scarf is going to look fine with the top, even if the minor color is not visible in the final knot.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful Sunday! I see the theme this week it black and I'm loving these beauties, but it's dark and rainy where I am so I thought I'd pop out some color. I'm new to this thread so I hope it's allowed :)

This is one of my grail scarfs - Jungle Love in the 90 size and the rose, vert, and jaune colorway.
