SOTD, not on this week’s, but View attachment 4968050View attachment 4968051last week’s topic: La Vie du Grand Nord. The polarbear and its hunter... My brooch, which is one that the indigenous people ( =samer) wear with their traditional clothes in northern Scandinavia, resembles the snowflake in the midst. I like the idea of connection between the two.
OMG I love this CW!!! I already have 5 or 6 of this design, but have never seen this CW. I love grey so much. You killed me. Also you tied it perfectly.

We are indeed dear Awillow!

This is a beautiful pink on you...and ironically I believe that is the Bova Knot! ;)
Ahhh awesome! Thanks for telling me the name. Through pure osmosis I must have picked up the knot from seeing all these wonderful pics on the forum and the thread about tying And knots. I was just fiddling around with it and what I wanted to show. I have so much to learn! :happydance:

I know you are not talking to me but I believe these are solje jewelry. I believe mainly made out of silver. I have earrings in solje design. I maybe completely wrong but could not help myself as I love a good jewelry chat:chatty:I forced myself into this conversation:blush:
Very nice -to me, it looks like a traditional Norwegian sølje, mostly used with our national costume, call "bunad". Looks very nice with Hermes silk as well :-)

You new addition is amazing! Such a pretty colorway.

I adore Baobab Cat! Stunning colorway!
Thank you Magjes.
I played around with my (3) Baobab Cat scarves recently. I’m always trying to find a way to wear it that shows the wild cat but no luck today. Beautiful colors on a white shirt.

Ohhhh!!! Who is this cutie?

Beautiful — and nice with this lipstick.

This Pour Sortir looks really good on you! Feels so fresh

Lovely, but I am afraid we are going to need some jewelry descriptions as well!
Thank you AnnaE.
Great scarf mail lanit, they look wonderful on you.
Thanks!

Thank you so much!

haha, I know the pigeons in New York are wild!

A few days ago I mentioned that was I was trying to resist a particular orange scarf that I don't need (well, who needs any of this?), and I've been shopping my own closet for orange scarves I already have!

Thank you!

Thanks, fifi. So many fun details in this design!
Oops, I missed that conversation. Well done on shopping your closet, orange scarves look great on you momasaurus.
Happy to be your twin...this is lovely on you!
Thanks Bova.:ghi5:
Love KO’s animals in Texas Wildlife.

Great scarf and lovely Roulis lanit.
This is gorgeous on you, MB. Love it tied this way to highlight the contrast.
Thank you Awillow.
There is a haberdashery department on Etsy! (Running away to check, thank you).
ive spent the morning enjoying everyone’s scarf eye candy!
@More bags, I love your lipstick and Baobab together as a pop of color on the neutral sweater! So happy!
Thanks so much @880.
My contribution to the wildlife theme. Some photos are from the archive as nowadays I don't get to wear scarves that often now that we have nowhere fun to go. You might be able to tell that Alice Shirley and Jan Bajtlik are some of my favourite designers.

I am blown away by all of your beautiful scarves and the wonderful CWs you chose!
Thank you, Anna. Yesterday's pearls are Sea of Cortez pearls from Mexico. My local jeweler, who created the custom pendant, retired last year. Fortunately, I got wise a few years ago and realized that instead of telling myself that, "Someday I'll do this", that I needed to actually do those things that I wanted to do. I think of him every time I wear one of his miniature pieces of art.

Beautiful pendant RBH!

Ok I have to know, just how many scarves did you pack and how did you ensure safe transport??! I’ve not taken my babies out on a world tour yet. Wanna know how one does this!
I packed 4 gavs, 2 90’s, and 2 moussies - but I didn’t wear one of them.

(sorry for including the shoes and purses - it’s from my Stylebook app Packing list)
I put them in a large ziplock bag, between 2 pieces of heavy paper and they either go in my purse (the big black Longchamp Pliage) or in my carry on. They are always with me, never checked. I always take scarves with me - wore 2 today - the moussie losange on my hat and Baobab Cat around my neck. ❤️
Good morning my scarfie friends! (At least it is morning here. :P ) It's been a WONDERFUL wild things week with many truly spectacular scarfs coming out to play. And now ...it's that time again for our new theme! (Though I am certain there are many crossovers you can make use of today!)

This week we'll be delving deeeeeeep in to the color black.

24 Jan 2021 Darkest Before Dawn: Black, Grey and Dark scarves, or worn with dark colours

Black you say? What can I do with black?

In color theory, black is not the absence of color, but rather the combination of all colors at once. The color we know as black is the absorption of all the individual colors of the light spectrum as opposed to the reflection of all colors (white). Actually, color itself is made by the reflection of the one portion of the light spectrum in an object and the absorption of all the others.

And you may say "Well, that is interesting, but how are we going to get through a full week of darks and blacks?" Well, hold my beer...

My friends...let me introduce you to a favorite picture of mine. ( I made it last time we did black week. ) I give you the "black-spectrum".

Black tends to be considered the color of power, sophistication, elegance, drama, mystery and also sadness. Although I will call it moodiness here for our purposes.

Without further ado, let's gt creative with our grey and blacks this week!

Full black on black with Lucky Stripes men's cotton losange (and full mystery and drama with the McQueen t-shirt).

Where the Wild Things Are .... in dreams.
Edouard Baribeaud (b. 1984, Versailles) has created two designs for Hermès that feature wildlife in a dream or dreamy context, Acte III La Clairiere and La Danse des Amazones.
Here is one of his dreamy works, a watercolor on paper (not intended as a scarf, as far as I know, but I sure wish it were :graucho:), titled Metamorphosis at Dawn, 2017. Can you imagine how beautiful a carré would be in this design? :hbeat:View attachment 4967300

Acte III, a depiction of Shakespeare’s masterpiece in the act of being performed. Note the highly stylized ‘lion’ played by the rustic character Snug the Joiner. The adorable donkey is the bewitched Nick Bottom, Snug’s buddy. Kind of a dream within a dream.

La Danse des Amazones, another interesting composition with a dreamlike landscape where some Amazons and wild cats enter the scene.

This wraps up this week’s theme for me (although we always squeeze in a few at the end, right? :winkiss:), and it’s been a great pleasure to host and see all your amazing and wild wildlife scarves. I have been on SOTD alot this week, but somehow I know I’ve missed some of your gifts, so a shoutout to you all :yahoo: and thank you so very much for making this an extraordinary week!
Fantastic post Karenska. I love your Acte III on you.
Experimented with bows this week (trying to find some not-too-floofy options). I got swept up enjoying all the lovelies shared & meant to post more pics.

Here’s Dallet’s Les Zebres ll to contribute to the theme:

Oh man. I didn’t realize this was going to post! I backspaced everything after I started because it was going to be too long! My ipad must have saved what I started. I’ll finish quickly!

My dear SIL would get up at night at 2am for 3 weeks to hunt for Eleanor - he thought she was scared and hiding during the day. He put out fliers. He posted ads in the neighborhood FB group, etc. He received messages - lots of “sightings” but no Eleanor. Finding Eleanor consumed him.
Fast forward a month later....We decided that Eleanor had to have been rescued by someone that realized how special she was and now lived with them. (This is what we told my 2 1/2 granddaughter).
6 weeks later......My SIL decides to adopt a little kitten. Literally while picking her up he receives a call from someone that found Eleanor. A complete stranger that happened to find her hiding behind a car wash. He caught her, brought her home, feed her, searched the lost cat ads till he found my SIL’s, then drove her to my daughter’s house. This guy also refused the reward money offered.
Poor Eleanor was skin and bones but she was finally home......and is now best friends with the new kitty named “Fiona.”

I think this is on topic because she was a ‘wild” cat for a brief period!
and oh - the car wash was 10 miles away.
I'm so glad Eleanor was returned home and has a new best friend.
Ugh! Cliffhanger! I need to know what happened to Eleanor.

And to stay on topic: a few wild things with their real life counterparts:

Love the poster @Redbirdhermes i hope my little loves Star Wars the same way and Harry Potter. We got the illustrated series as a family Christmas present but are waiting for her to be a bit older before cracking into them. All books first, no movies!
