Today's SOTD was a 'grab it before it disappears from the web site' purchase. A large wash silk with Dallet's cheetah... I purchased this so fast before it could disappear, which it did for quite a while.

marche au Zambezi. Could never decide on a CW from the first release, but this CW was perfect for me.

Love these on you. You have just confirmed to me There really is NOTHING wrong with lots of blues in ones collection!! Enjoy these beauties.

Since we have been on the subject of "sales goggles" this week. This is a scarf I had been watching for awhile, but had resolved not to buy, but could not pass up a deal  .... Paridaiza GM mousseline joins my 90cm silk in the Bunny Scarf Corral.

OH my goodness! such soft elegant colours. I really like this one!!

SOTD is Les Jouets Mobiles, a scarf that I've seen before occasionally in the bay but which was never high in my priority list. Earlier this year, while looking through the theme list, I was reminded of it. @turfnsurf had identified one of the Couvee eggs as based on motifs from this scarf. I did a cursory search for it and found one in baby blue and pink at a sweet price. BIN'd it in a "Why Not? If not now, when?" mood.

Wore it with a @bunnycat glass scarf ring in streaky blue. Here's the Couvee egg, which merges two of the motifs.

The child-size goat-drawn carriage is in the Hermes collection. And either Caty Latham used artistic licence or there is more than one goat-drawn carriage, because a different model was shown at an Hermes exhibition in my neck of woods.

This. Is. Fabulous!

I regularly follow the Hermes scarves offered on TRR, marking my favorites and often waiting until the price drops to bargain levels. Recently, a scarf appeared that I was willing to purchase immediately. When I put it into the cart I realized that this was one of the weekends where purchases earned a site rebate to be received in a few weeks. So, naturally, I loaded up my cart with bargain scarves to kick the rebate up to a higher level.

One of those bargain scarves was L'Ocean with the red border. This magnificent ship with its 118 cannons by Ledoux from 1959 has been on my wish list for a while. So, I'm kicking off our Independence Day weekend with some red, white, and blue for my SOTD. According to my H Math, between the site discount and my upcoming rebate, this scarf practically paid for itself.

Brilliant math! Hmmmm, I think my Viennese Wheel may have been on future-rebate weekend…

One last FOMO and some H math. I used to have the Anthracite Beloved India, but it didn’t love me so I traded with @thegriswolds for her black Bal des Oiseaux. We’re both happier.

But, having lived in India I can’t not have a Beloved India. So for three years I watched as pink and orange cws (the ones that most remind me of the colors of India) came and went. Usually for crazy prices or I just missed them at a decent price. So yesterday, just as I put myself on permanent ban, it shows up on TRR for just below retail. Are you kidding me. So fast boat off Ban Island and returned straight after. And I figure, since I’m returning something else I ordered from TRR then really I got $125 off the scarf. N’est pas? :graucho:

Please make room on Ban Island for me. I was wading in the shallows and got sucked to sea with a riptide.

Sometimes my impulse buys are along the “Oh what the heck, let’s give it a whirl” lines. :giggle:
Such as this Giant Triangle! (which I’ve worn 4 times since April, so I think it’s a success!)
View attachment 5125498
Sometimes they’re “Eh… that’s a bit more than I want to pay, but it rarely comes up… so…”
Such as this beautiful Les Ailes de la Soie! (Which just arrived!)
View attachment 5125497
Les Ailes de la Soie is a striking, graphic design and you have found a very elegant cw that suits you beautifully!

Let me tell you a little joke: In December of last year I pronounced that I would not be buying any more CSGMs for I felt my collection was complete… I had Grail designs and all color families were covered and I live
in a tropical climate, so I was DONE!

Yet, in January, I found myself buying another CSGM, but it was an Aline Honoré classic, for heaven’s sake, and at $250 below current retail, I just couldn’t pass it up… It was a clear example of putting on my Sales Goggles to satisfy my FOMOF… Tous Les Bateaux du Monde CSGM
View attachment 5125878

Surely, with TLBdM, I was done buying CSGMs… until this month, that is, when a couple of incredible bargains surfaced out of nowhere… I have 3 Parures de Samourais CSGMs already and was perfectly satisfied, until this CW popped up at at unheard of couple of hundred $$ below retail… The least thing I needed was another shawl, but, hey, it’s Samourais at an insane price, so the old Sales Goggles and FOMOF made me do it
View attachment 5125877

Then a few days later, this amazing Jungle Love CSGM surfaced… My dream CW of JL in the 90 is the pink, but I’ve never run across one at a decent price. So when I saw this pink and in pristine condition and at over $400 below current retail, surely there was nothing else to do… It was mine in a flash

These are all wonderful and I can see why you had to get them - they were just meant for you! Parures de Samouraïs is obviously a beauty in every cw but Tous les Bateaux du Monde is a design I never paid much attention to until I saw it on you. That border is spectacular and the orange contrast hem is a perfect finishing touch. I hope you find many occasions to wear them despite the tropical climate!

I love your way of shopping and your very clever H math! I‘ve profited from this „spend more to save more“ scheme on TRR too - I bought two mousselines and got a gavroche at a real bargain price. Sometimes there are real bargains to be found on TRR - although nothing really is a bargain with European import charges on top. Oh well, not taking them into the equation is part of H math too….

Yes, absolutely, that was a real bargain ! I‘m sure the colours will look marvellous on you; I‘m really looking forward to seeing your modelling photo!

Well here are the last 3 scarves I have recently purchased - all previously owned.

della Cavalleria moussie 140 - I got sidetracked by other beautiful moussies the season this came out - felt lucky to have found this a few weeks ago. I clicked “ BIN” very quickly. This Cw will be very versatile- with all the colors in it.

another purchase this month - I didn’t manage to buy maitres de la foret when it was originally released. I always knew this was the perfect CW for me- another BIN as soon as this was listed. all my favorite blues with a bit of purple.

and this one was a surprise - a beautiful moussie stole Tabriz listed at a great price with crummy pix. In fact it is very difficult to photograph moussies so they are often a b3autiful surprise when you open the box - even better than you hoped for.
lately I have been wearing a lot of aqua and greens so this was perfect!

They are all marvellous! Tabriz is a very special design and the blue/green cw looks beautiful on you. We are sisters on the Della Cavalleria mousseline - it looks great with your wonderful blue cardigan.

They look great tucked into your cardigans! Is there any trick to make them stay were they are? I‘ve tried this look more than once and I‘ve always ended up looking disheveled after no more than a couple of minutes.
