Love this!Yesterday with Bains d’Hermes. I think all the CWs of this men’s cotton piece were great!View attachment 5120912
Oh, my, how lovely, LKBNOLA. Both sides are really special. I like your earrings, too! Here is my swan song for the theme week: La Danse des Chevaux. Sisters with @Cookiefiend and @Redbirdhermes.I think this is technically a unisex design since when I went to the boutique they pulled it from both but mine was with the women's blues. I just adore the design. It is my first double faced scarf and it really does feel like two. I also think this "gris perle" silvery thing H has going on is perilous for me...

It is a sad story, indeed.A never ending sad story.
Such a beautiful, thoughtful comment, LKBNOLA, and so true. I’d love to hear the Baez version and will look it up. I’ve been listening to her lately again in honor of her Kennedy Center award.Thank you for elaborating. Now I know the lullaby you mean-- there is a Joan Baez folk version that is very haunting. I think Bruno Bettelheim in The Uses of Enchantment talks about how children learn to negotiate fear and terror through story and, I guess song, too. I haven't read that book since my grad schoold days studying children's literature but even familiar prayers for children like "Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep" are pretty scary if you actually focus on the words. I think children faced a much harsher world in terms of mortality in the past, so these stylized renderings that seem so stark to the modern ear (and heart) were probably just a part of their reality. See why I missed your interesting posts? A silken trail from moons rising to abenlieder...
Thank you for linking this, Little Foxes. It is a beautiful, haunting piece. I listened to a couple of versions yesterday on YouTube. This photo was definitely worth staying up late! The lullaby I was referencing is one of the most well known poems in German and I think the translation is poetic enough to convey both the meaning and the atmosphere of the original: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Der_Mond_ist_aufgegangen
I both loved and dreaded it as a child; maybe because children can sense from early on that this deceptively simple lullaby has a deeper meaning and was not intended for children in the first place.
although I love my all blue cW, I think yours is the best CW!Yesterday with Bains d’Hermes. I think all the CWs of this men’s cotton piece were great!View attachment 5120912
Beautiful! I remember how hot it was in Italy in July. I was positively wilting. Then we headed to Greece! From the fry pan into the fire, so to speak. Costumed and elegant gentlemen in Fêtes Vénitiennes. Not on theme again but another belated contribution to last week‘s theme: Bolduc au Carré next to the Doge‘s Palace and the Basilica di San Marco (in the background), close to where I bought it last year. It‘s terribly crumpled because it had to do double duty as a belt during the day before it cooled down at dusk and a wind rose from the sea.

Those look fantastic together!I loved the Men's designs Cheval Punk and Correspondance Hermes-Paris from this spring, but I couldn't use them in the 100 cm cashmere-silk blend. In looking over the men's scarf offerings earlier this week, I noticed that these designs were also available in the pochette size. So I ordered one each from h.com and they arrived yesterday. The men's silk seems to be a bit thinner than the women's 45 (both men's pochettes weighed 15 grams while still tagged on my kitchen scales, versus 16 grams for the women's silks).
So here they are. I think that they would really pop against a red top, but I don't have any light enough for today's expected hot weather.

Another drive by from me today, sadly. I have renamed yesterday as "The Day of Math", whereupon I spent approximately 13 of my 17 awake hours doing math, attending lectures, or proctoring tests....now I need to shift gears and finish special orders today. Then it is... back to math...
A couple more from the mens collection I wore earlier this week. Lucky Stripes cotton losange and Filigrane cotton/silk 70cm.

And though I tend to go for more colorful silks in the 90 size, this more deeply toned (a little more unisex) Animapolis remains a favorite.

I do believe you are one of the people I have to blame, er, thank for this
In all seriousness tho I am fairly certain this will be on regular rotation. And I’ve had a lot of scarf mail lately that has tPF written all over it!
Thank you, I really fell in love with this scarf - and with Venice, of course!
I love this with your royal blue jacket, what a striking combination! Your cw comes quite close to a real armour I saw today in Ca‘ Pesaro.

I am traveling again this weekend and am wearing my new cw of Kawa Ora (part of my Colorway Correction Program where I am gradually adding/replacing preferred cws of designs I love). Not exactly on theme except that it is the only scarf designed by the male tattoo artist Te Rangiti Netana. His instagram is fierce! But this cw of Kawa Ora is soft and lovely with no lessening of the graphic power of his design.

If you couldn't tell by now, I love men's scarves way more than the women'sI find them way easier to wear and they fit my casual style better. Excited for A/W'21 which seems to have some great men's designs!

Glad to help, and thank you for letting me know. I wish more colors were available on the US website. I’d order the Cheval Punk red in a heartbeat.Oh, I love that Cheval Punk. Have never purchased from the men's side before, but I clicked directly from your post to H.com to add to cart on that one. My way of participating in the theme this week. Thanks for enabling (also through your posts that I have Fleurs d'Ecosse on my wishlist - another plaid - so double thank you!).
