Thank you so much @Thelittlefoxes! The full moon behind my house is always lovely but this was 2021's last "Super moon" also known as a Strawberry Moon (because it falls during the strawberry harvest, not because it is red!) so I stayed up to watch it get "caught" in the trees. And I agree, while I don't know the lullaby you are referencing, that those songs can be suprisingly more poignant than soothing at times or the lyrics can belie the melody with their meaning...

This photo was definitely worth staying up late! The lullaby I was referencing is one of the most well known poems in German and I think the translation is poetic enough to convey both the meaning and the atmosphere of the original: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Der_Mond_ist_aufgegangen
I both loved and dreaded it as a child; maybe because children can sense from early on that this deceptively simple lullaby has a deeper meaning and was not intended for children in the first place.

I am traveling again this weekend and am wearing my new cw of Kawa Ora (part of my Colorway Correction Program where I am gradually adding/replacing preferred cws of designs I love). Not exactly on theme except that it is the only scarf designed by the male tattoo artist Te Rangiti Netana. His instagram is fierce! But this cw of Kawa Ora is soft and lovely with no lessening of the graphic power of his design.

A marvellous design and a marvellous cw. Your scarf knot shows it off to perfection and your mint green shirt brings out the soft side of this bold design.

Thank you so much for your nice compliments, Thelittlefoxes. Finally and hopefully
it will never be so crowded by these awful cruise ships masses as before. Back to a serene Venezia!

Unfortunately, I read a couple of days ago that mayor of Venice is trying to bring back the big cruise ships to the lagoon - I guess there is just too much profit to be made for some people in power. The city suffers much more from these ships than it could ever gain from them. But hopefully they will not be back in full force any time soon.

Marvellous, this celestial blue is a truly serene colour and your royal blue shirt is the perfect foil for this beauty!

These are bad news, I thought they were on a good way with limited access and high city taxes.
That‘s insane, really.
Thank you for your compliment. Thelittlefoxes!

Not on theme again but another belated contribution to last week‘s theme: Bolduc au Carré next to the Doge‘s Palace and the Basilica di San Marco (in the background), close to where I bought it last year. It‘s terribly crumpled because it had to do double duty as a belt during the day before it cooled down at dusk and a wind rose from the sea.

Terrific photo…..so great.

SOTD: Copeaux. There is a man on it, and woodwork is to my mind more of a man thing.
(Edited to say that my cardigan is a dark green, not black as it appears in the mod shot….)

Very classic and feminine, your scarf knot matches the elegance of this design, SusieAugusta!

Very much off topic yesterday (about as much as you can be this week) with Tea Time, a bit of a surprise buy for me. And today Libre et équilibre, could work for men too.

Tea Time is so cute! Libre et équilibre is a striking cw and it looks very chic with your grey blazer, Agrume.

Men's scarves, you say?

Bonus: a scarf I don't actually own but tried at the store, Mega Chariot

If you couldn't tell by now, I love men's scarves way more than the women's  I find them way easier to wear and they fit my casual style better. Excited for A/W'21 which seems to have some great men's designs!

Sweet Dreams is a marvellous cw and Pegase Paysage looks perfect with your beautiful hair, ajaxbreaker! Your earrings and Hermès Galaxy are a perfect match.

My SOTD is a recent vintage acquisition, Le Débuché, designed by Charles Jean Hallo and Christiane Vauzelles in 1968. It shows men on horses chasing dogs at the start of the hunt.

Very lovely and I always admire your necklace, Redbirdhermes.

How about a few daring young men on the flying trapeze?

Wearing Filigrane today ❤

Filigrane and your blouse look like inversions of each other - or like positive and negative images in photography. A perfect match, Cookiefiend!

Those are all drool-worthy! Twinning on the Galaxy! I did see a new design (can’t recall the name but it was ropes) and it was GREEN - such a welcome departure from grey/blue/red (nothing wrong with those colors but I’m looking for a bit more variety)

ahhh - I’ve never heard of this poem, or lullaby - thank you for sharing this. I’m going to see if I can find a recording of it. ❤️
It makes me think of the old fairy tales (which could be really dreadful), and Rock-a-bye Baby - so lulling… yet - “when the bough breaks?”

Thank you sweetheart! ❤️
I don’t know which I like more - the Filigrane or the shirt!
Thank you dear, you and @Thelittlefoxes are the sweetest! :hugs:
