My very best wishes to everyone for the New Year to all SOTD regulars, occasional posters and newcomers alike  .

The SOTD 2021 thread is now open and ready for business:

The new theme commences tomorrow (3 Jan - whenever your time zone gets there) but there's no reason why you can't post earlier if you want.

Hi, all!

I have missed so much (including the weeks I was supposed to host, argh). I started a new job on the day the shelter-in-place order was announced in California, and things have been crazy ever since. I think we have fallen into more of a habit now so I feel like I have some time to get back to my hobbies, etc. I hope you all are well! Not on topic, but I wore this gavroche the other day as it is so spring-like!

Congratulations on the new job and you are looking lovelier than ever so it obviously suits you

Welcome back, AnnaE! :hugs:

You must have a degree in Folklore to know this stuff . . . This is a lot of stuff you know about cultural and mythic legacies.
Nope... Read the Hermès booklet description

Beautiful! Incredible cws, Fifi. I adore Peuple du Vent. I have a gorgeous pink/red/gold plisse but I can see myself with multiple cws and formats. Love how you tied red one, a fav cw.
In my book, it is multiples-worthy... Thanks so much!

Twins on the Noir. Love your Red colorway and your casual tying!
Aaaah, the noir is my fav... Thanks much!

Looking through my archives I found my lovely Zabavushka!
Such a fun scarf to wear and colorway twins with several members!
Ties so beautifully! Especially in this CW

Thank you, fifi!

Twins on the black one!

That's a gorgeous CW, MAGJES!
Always happy to be your twin

Today, I’m channeling Tiffany Case, from Diamonds are Forever.
Bond - Tiffany Case? Definitely distinctive.
Tiffany - I was born there, on the first floor, while my mother was looking for a wedding ring.
Bond - Well, I’m glad for your sake it wasn’t Van Cleef & Arpels.
Tiffany was a diamond smuggler - she would love to swipe Parures des Sables

LOL! I’ve always wanted PdS in this CW

Perfect James Bond scarf- Monte Carlo since James is frequently in casinos!View attachment 4706680 View attachment 4706682

Gorgeous look! Such a special carrè! And, the Chanel brooch is the perfect complement!

Off topic today with my Boucles et Galons du Tsar.View attachment 4706844
You wear those colors so beautifully!

A few more for this week.

I gave Animapolis a spin earlier in the week, with all its wonderful Eastern European influences.

And for the Japanese Bond girls...Les Artisans....I'm fairly sure a Bond girl could rock the motorcycle horse with ease.

All gorgeous, and I am especially smitten by your Les Artisans

Amazing colours in these.
Thanks much!

Classic Hermès!

Off topic today with new-2-me Au Coeur de la Vie. It’s a beautiful sunny day, a little chilly, but that’s okay. The greens in this scarf, the flowers, and wee critters make me happy. Happy Friyay everyone!

Soooo amazing! Just the simple bias fold highlights its beauty and intricacy of design

I like the current incarnation of Bond. Daniel Craig's extremely athletic version of the super spy included a death-defying parkour chase across the rooftops in Casino Royale. No parkour in my scarves, so I'll contribute some rooftops instead
Les Toits de Paris, Jardin sur le Toit, and the urban landscape in Passage a Ginza.

My favourite bit of Bond isn't in the movies. It's the 2012 Summer Olympics filmlet featuring Queen E for the Games opening ceremony. Those corgis were a riot, as was the genuine surprise on the faces of William and Harry when they viewed the video.
Regina in memory of Leila Menchari and her depiction of the roses for England, leeks for Wales, thistles for Scotland and clover for Northern Ireland. Dieu et Mon Droit issued for the Queen's Jubilee.

Great post!

Thank you !:flowers: And love all your choices!!:flowers:
Thanks so much!

Just to add a few more Bond girls inspiration....

#5 Zora: the wrestling gypsy girl. I can see her wearing peuple du vent pirate style!

#29 Solitaire: a tarot reader, naturally she would wear Le Tarot! But how does a tarot reader wear her scarves? Any ideas?

#Saida: the belly dancer. I could see her wearing tapis volant perhaps tied asymmetrically around her hips.

#45 Bono Dahl is an ice skater. I think she would wear le plaisirs du froid or joies d’hiver. Perhaps in pink.

#47 Octopussy: was surrounded by circus folk, so I think cirus scarf would fit her nicely.

All images found from google searches.

And finally:

#48 Magda: she stole a faberge egg so she would of course wear couvee d’hermes!
These examples are amazing! Brava!!

Love how you tied Les Artisans. Very carefree look.

Lovely!!

What a story! Tied so chic.

Stunning with your sweater!
Thanks so much!

Well it would help if I attached photos. I think I've been in self isolation for too long!

Thank you sweetie - for both lovely comments.
Sometimes a simple bias fold is all you need - it’s so easy, literally fold a bit, throw it on, and go. This week alone, it’s been a bias fold most of the time - even the moussie PdS started out as that knotted necklace... great for the pic - but I unknotted it, threw it around my neck and just put a knot in the ends, and said That works. P’raps I should contact our dear Dr Brix - here’s another easy way? :giggle:

I love seeing your posts, such extraordinary beauties. Thank you. :girlsigh:

Glad to see you! Was about to ask about you.

Thanks for thinking about me! All is well here, just very, very busy.

Congratulations on the new job and you are looking lovelier than ever so it obviously suits you

Hm I think it's the lack of makeup, minus the lipbalm, and putting on a lot of face masks while stuck at home on phone calls...

All jokes aside, I have decided that if I need home made masks, I will sacrificing some older scarves to have a pretty exterior. Thankfully, we are stocked up on regular ones...

I wore my Ballets today as well. Good spot on the Le Tour, never thought about that one.

It's pretty on you, Anna! I see tulips, which design is it?

I am not sure, to be honest. It's one of those anonymous gavroches, no signature. Has a copyright symbol. I have seen a green and white version before. I am going to assume it's called Les Tulips. I bought it thinking I would hang it up for the spring, but it ended up moving straight into my scarf drawers...

Somewhere in the mail is this little gav. Tour Auto features fast cars from the 1960s and earlier. No Aston Martin, but a scarfie previously identified a Sunbeam Alpine, a Ford Mustang and a Lotus on it. Bond used those three in the movies. The Lotus Esprit in The Spy Who Loved Me was a roadster that could convert into a submarine! I'll wear this when we do Wheels later this year in August
