My very best wishes to everyone for the New Year to all SOTD regulars, occasional posters and newcomers alike  .

The SOTD 2021 thread is now open and ready for business:

The new theme commences tomorrow (3 Jan - whenever your time zone gets there) but there's no reason why you can't post earlier if you want.

A superb end of year post dear fifi! An impressive array that you’ve attained this year! Delighted to see some grails, La Femme and ExelenK, c’est Le fete, and you’re new love of mousselines! The fur babies are darling and hope they are getting along well! I haven’t tested Remy with a kitten in the house yet due to DH allergies but I think he’d love a little pal. love the Offrands mousse on you and your choices all superbly styled!
Thanks so much, dear... I have you to thank for helping me attain one of my Grails! I will share later this week...
And, the introduction of Ponki to the dogs was not without stress... After about three weeks, it was Christmas Eve that they were able to coexist without issues. I adore all three of mine and love seeing Remy’s sweet face every time you post. They truly are special beings

Now the question is what will 2021 bring us silk lovers? My tansu is so full I must edit before buying anything else. Reflecting on this past year I sought out vintage and also Landed some very Special Edition silks too, and I enjoyed contributing to some worthy causes. So here are my “nominees” as they are all winners in my world
Best Shawl- that I wear the most this year ( My bd gift at start of Pandemic)

All breathtakingly beautiful! So many treasures for you this year! Love them all... but, the one that brought me to the fainting couch is the Jardins Anglaises moussie... What an amazing find, especially in this glorious CW!

I don't quite know where to begin this week. I can't say my habits have changed all that much. I think I did tone it down just a little this year in purchasing, but still....not enough of the letting go for me yet.

I'll start with my up and coming favorite new format for me. It is getting dangerously close to overtaking mousselines in terms of the "favorite format" factor. So this is me: :woot: ... and my wallet: :crybaby:

This year a favorite purchase and favorite design are combined in to one "Best All Around Purchase" with Cosmographia CSGM:

And since I did go to a boutique earlier in the year, I'm giving favorite in person boutique purchase to Brides de Gala en Quadri:

These two a glorious, indeed... Love your categories, and I can’t wait to see more this week... And, again, upstaged by a kittie!

I need to catch up on all the wonderful posts over the last few days. (I have seen some lovely pics from so many fly by!)

Here is a quiet but beautiful moussie I picked up this year. Inspired by @Sammy Royal . Ceintures et Liens.

I would say she is in the running for best supporting actress for an understated, sublime performance.View attachment 4939696
It is magnificent! If only! Sigh... Stunning on you and I love the knot

Hmm, a fun theme! I'll try to keep things to just three categories, all with archive pics as I'm away from my collection at the moment.

Most Worn: Carre Kantha CSGM
I am thrilled at how often I pull out my new-to-me Carre Kantha CSGM. It's been perfect for cool weather and goes well with most of my winter wardrobe.

Most Inspiring: Plumes en Fete 90
This is the scarf that started it all, my 30th birihday scarf and the one that started me down the slippery orange slope.

Most Exciting Find: Into the Canadian Wild 90
I'd had my eye on this one since starting my collection, so I jumped on it when I found it gently preloved at retail price. It's been a joy figuring out how to tie it different ways to highlight all the different wildlife.

Oh, such remarkable silks! I adore my Carre Kantha moussie and would lobe to add a shawl and a 90 in the design. Your shawl is magnificent! And, I also missed out on Into the Canadian Wild. I was relatively new to collecting Hermes scarves when it was issued and I found it too busy with animals for my taste and passed on it... Then, as time went by, I so wanted one when it was already too late. Your CW was my preferred one until I was finally able to find one that I happy with... This is such a wonderful CW and I love the knot

Gaming is very popular in my family, and I find that I have a soft spot for silks with cards or dice on them. Le Tarot caught my eye a while back, and it comes in a number of pretty colorways, but this red, blue, yellow and green version caught my eye. Colors right in my wheelhouse, and designed by the popular Annie Faivre, one of my favorite designers, and even featuring her cute monkey. But what makes this scarf an award winner is this: when I sorted my scarf acquisitions for the year in order of purchase price, from high to low, this beauty was at the very bottom.

Presenting my Oscarf for the Best for the Least Award to Le Tarot.

Ha! I love this award! And, so gorgeous! Ties beautifully

Everyone loves a Year End Wrap Up, even in a year such as this... and oh - whatta year! I’m always curious to see what others are thinking, how they’re tallying up their votes, what makes the cut, the confessions (mea culpa dear wallet), and seeing what *really* gave us joy.
I was a bizzy bizzy bizzy cookie this year - though not as bad as last year - and managed to bring in 33 scarves. I sold or gave away a total of 21, for a net gain of 12 scarves... that’s how I’m looking at it anyway!
But how to start deciding who wins? :panic:
< throwing a dart >
I’ll start with the moussies - 6 new came in...

Best Supporting Moussie goes to Carre Kantha

And the Oscarf goes to Parures des Sables - it is beautiful!

I also remember that listing of the glorious Parures de Sables... So incredibly beautiful, Cookie! Both on my wishlist because of you

What a fun week! As this is my first year collecting H scarves, I just wanted to thank you ladies for a fun distraction from 2020! I have loved spending time on this forum and appreciate all of you!
I collected a total of 23 scarves this year. I anticipate my next years will be much less, and I’ll become even more discerning. I’m a minimalist at heart. There is only one scarf that was a slight miss for me, and I decided to keep her after listing her for sale. So - I’m considering my purchases a total win for the year!

My categories:

1. Best format: the winner goes to 90 cm double face silks. If you had asked me six months ago, I would have said wash scarves, but after purchasing two double-sided silks, I’m a firm convert. Below is my Formule Chic.

2. Best Color Family: It’s the botanica from AW20, hands down. I have three scarves from this color family, and below is my La Legende du Cheval a Plumes. I can’t get enough of these colors!

3. Best Design: Almost all of my scarves, including the three in these photos, are borderless, with all four corners different. Some of the designs I love are Cosmographia, Acte III, Pivoines, and Animapolis. These are the designs that I prefer, as they maximize value and are the most aesthetically pleasing for me personally. I love feeling like I’m wearing a piece of art that could be hanging on my wall. Honing in on this design style early has allowed me to be very discerning, which is for the best for my wallet.

4. And the Scarfie goes to: Cosmographia Universalis Special Edition 90 cm, for the brighter future of Hong Kong. I love this scarf so much, it’s my favorite design and these colors are my catnip. The fact that it’s special edition makes it all the more precious to me!

Looking forward to 2021!
What a great post! Love your scarves and so enjoyed reading your explanations... You have been a wonderful presence on SOTD...
This space has surely been an oasis for all of us, especially this bleak year.
The Cosmo special edition is fantastic!

Have you re-sold any of your purchases? If you tell us you have been 100% successful in your choices, I will be really jealous.

Not yet, but there are a couple that I have never been worn that will be sold at some point. I went against my usual rule and purchased a black scarf and I shouldn't have. The problem with another scarf is that the camera simply will not photograph it to the actual color. I adore the photo, but hate the actual scarf. I'd show you a photo, but you won't see the problem.... :annoyed:

I had that happen with Acte III. I loved the red cw in the stock photos. I loved it even more when @papertiger modshot hers. I went to H with high expectations of saying "Take my money, take it, take it!" ... and somehow it just didn't look the same IRL for me. I still bought 3 other cws of that design, but I've always felt like I missed out on the red. Doesn't help that it is still available on the local h.com and I get dissociative amnesia each time I see it - my finger moves to click "Add to Cart"

So happy to be your twin! You tied this beautifully! ❤ Isn‘t it amazing how this mousse can be shy one moment and surprises us with brilliant colours and this wonderful changeant effect the next...?
I have been on the look out for this as well since you posted your beauty in the moussie thread!
(I’m not green with envy, oh no! okay... mebbe a tad - but @Awillow you wear it beautifully!)

I’m wary of Hermes reds, as often they tend to orange, and those are not my color. Red is my favorite color, but it has to be either a pure red or a bluish red.

Thanks, Fifi! I agree with the oasis comment, and have loved spending time with all of you scarfies!
