My very best wishes to everyone for the New Year to all SOTD regulars, occasional posters and newcomers alike  .

The SOTD 2021 thread is now open and ready for business:

The new theme commences tomorrow (3 Jan - whenever your time zone gets there) but there's no reason why you can't post earlier if you want.

Ooh yours looks lovely too! Yes it is a gorgeous scarf, and I want to clarify that although DH thinks these scarves are frivolous, he buys them for me as he knows I love them. And he always puts a lot of thought in to it too. Buying colours that he thinks go well with my colouring. And to be honest, colours I wouldn't buy myself, but actually love once I try them.
Thank you so kindly. It sounds like you have a very thoughtful and generous DH, littleblackbag.

Thank you for the wonderful introduction to Oscarf week, Fifi. All of my Hermes scarves were acquired during 2020, so they are all in the running for an Oscarf Award.

I like colorful scarves with interesting designs, and I tend away from horse bit, military, colonial and hunting themes. However, I have been inspired by many of you to look at vintage designs as well as neutral colors, and that leads me to my first Oscarf Award of the week.

Yesterday's scarf mail brought me a scarf from 1948 by Hugo Grygkar, which makes it my oldest scarf, as well as being older than me. Chevaux de Cirque celebrates the horse as a circus performer. I love the large ostrich plumes and I can almost hear how the bells jingle in rhythm as they trot around the ring.

My Most Vintage Award goes to Chevaux de Cirque.

Congratulations, RBH, it is truly special. I have never seen this design before. I love it!

I think we need to include the Horsawards ( or Horscars as I think it was called for a nanosecond upon issue ) for this week's theme, even though I didn't buy it this year. I cannot say enough how much I love the colour of this scarf. Anyway, just popping it on because of the awards connection.

So nice to see you, Pautinka, and sending you holiday blessings. That is a gorgeous photo of you! I love both your offerings- such a grand design. Horscars! Really? Horseawards is so much better.:girlsigh:

I love the colors in your Patchwork Horse! I think people have just been graphically oriented lately, as opposed to the more Impressionistic "birds eye view" that Nigel Peake tends towards.

Tigre Royal is always good! And I am really loving all these special once off printings. That makes this Tigre extra special!

JL is perfection! (Especially in this plum and heather grey shade!)
thank you!
Thank you, bunnycat!

Fab Patchwork and cardie, scarf!
thank you!
Dear Scarf, festive, elegant, gorgeous, and my twin! :hugs:View attachment 4939121

Congrats on this beauty! I have never seen this one!

This has proven to be a very useful exercise, reviewing the year's purchases. I have bought 12 scarves for myself, shown below, as well as a personalised Trésor de Medor for a dear friend and the pink/cream cw of the Jardins de Soie CSGM for my mum, which I don't have photos of.
My husband jokes that I probably even out at one scarf purchase a month and this year he hasn't been wrong! I've added three 70s, one giant triangle, two vintage 90s, three 90s and three CSGMs ( the sky blue Couvertures being a surprise Christmas gift from DH ).
My favourite? It's a close run between my two de Porets, I think.
These are amazing... wonderful additions!

love the icy vibe of this!

oh that blue green color is fab on you!

What a ray of sunshine! And I see you ar3 coordinating mask and iPhone color!
Yes, I’ve had an extremely busy year, and the biggest and most expensive scarf collecting year ever... I think it must have been the Covid lockdown effect and that we saved so much money that would have otherwise gone to concerts and vacations and dinners out, etc... I went a little crazy... But, on the other hand, I rehomed over 20 scarves, which evened things out a bit

That is very interesting information. Google came through for me this time. Here is a link with pictures of some of the jewelry Hardy designed for Hermes for anyone else who is interested. Spectacular pieces.

Fascinating! Such amazing pieces

Somehow got too busy to post this last week. Here are my 3 holiday scarves that I have been wearing frequently this month.

1 neige d’antan which I featured early last week
2. au coeur de la vie (2007) - not Xmas theme, but very christmassy red and green combo.
3. Noel au Faubourg View attachment 4939089

and actual SOTD and my favorite new CSGM from 2020 ( ok it was also my only CSGM this year). Patchwork Horse. This colorway with blues, greens and purple matches or goes with almost everything in my closet. not sure why it doesnt seem very popular( has been on USA h.com most of the year). It ties beautifully. Here worn with a new cashmere cardigan.

The holiday scarves are wonderful classics... and, the CSGM is glorious... Ties so beautifully!

DH bought me a new scarf for Christmas. Not gonna lie, I was secretly disappointed upon opening and finding it to be a 70cm and not the usual 90cm I’m used too! However I was still grateful for the lovely gift as I know he thinks these things are frivolous

however I am happy to report, having worn it today that it was still warm and cosy. And I do love the colours and design of this scarf. So all in all I love it. And will now investigate more 70cm scarves!
please excuse the wrinkles (in the scarf) had just taken it off.
