My very best wishes to everyone for the New Year to all SOTD regulars, occasional posters and newcomers alike  .

The SOTD 2021 thread is now open and ready for business:

The new theme commences tomorrow (3 Jan - whenever your time zone gets there) but there's no reason why you can't post earlier if you want.

Somehow got too busy to post this last week. Here are my 3 holiday scarves that I have been wearing frequently this month.

1 neige d’antan which I featured early last week
2. au coeur de la vie (2007) - not Xmas theme, but very christmassy red and green combo.
3. Noel au Faubourg View attachment 4939089

and actual SOTD and my favorite new CSGM from 2020 ( ok it was also my only CSGM this year). Patchwork Horse. This colorway with blues, greens and purple matches or goes with almost everything in my closet. not sure why it doesnt seem very popular( has been on USA h.com most of the year). It ties beautifully. Here worn with a new cashmere cardigan.

Scarf, your holiday scarves are so beautiful. And I love your CSGM. this design is very alluring to me and I love how it looks tied. Congratulations.

DH bought me a new scarf for Christmas. Not gonna lie, I was secretly disappointed upon opening and finding it to be a 70cm and not the usual 90cm I’m used too! However I was still grateful for the lovely gift as I know he thinks these things are frivolous

however I am happy to report, having worn it today that it was still warm and cosy. And I do love the colours and design of this scarf. So all in all I love it. And will now investigate more 70cm scarves!
please excuse the wrinkles (in the scarf) had just taken it off.

the colours are just stunning. Not fully showing up in the pics. Hope it’s okay to share this here. Xxx

MERRY CHRISTMAS SCARFIES TO ALL WHO CELEBRATE! (And Happy Friday to everyone!)

A few festive things from this week

It was 78F and wearing t-shirts and moussies on Wednesday....In Festival des Amazons trying to get the changeant of yellow and pearl blue in...

View attachment 4937910

Then the next day (Thursday) was 40F...so out comes Zenobie which has a kind of festive look to it....

and at home later with Cosmos doing holiday prep.

Today, I prepared myself for the incoming goodies from Mr Bcat and his (in)famous SGV (Scarf Gift Vault) because I knew I would get at least one....and I knew it would be purple (because that is all there is in there!) so I got going and applied appropriate makeup when I got dressed.

Apparently, I was EXCEPTIONALLY good! Doubly so in fact! (And this was unexpected!) So WOW!!! Soooo very thrilled to add not just one, but 2 Excpetionele pieces in to the scarf corral. I have no idea of the official names anymore on these.

A double sided (2 thicknesses) moussie in what I call blurple with black, and lots of pretty deep grey luster glass beads.

And, I think the leather trimmed ones all get put in the exceptional section these days. And I have LOOOONG wanted a leather trimmed scarf. This leather trimmed maxi twilly was from a few years back, but the leather is sooooo soft. I forget if it is Eperons d'Or or Grande Manege in the jacquard pattern. A little more indigo-ink blue than blurple and black.

First, love your changeant and Zenobia and we are Cosmos twins except mine is a 'slinky'. Now for your gifts. Yowsa and wowsa, dear Bunny!! Congratulations, they are both stunning. I love them both but your glass-beaded blurple is fantastic. A double-sided moussie - I have never heard of such an exotic princess. But I have never seen, handled, or tried on an Hermes mousseline. (Must rectify that ...).

I love the colors in your Patchwork Horse! I think people have just been graphically oriented lately, as opposed to the more Impressionistic "birds eye view" that Nigel Peake tends towards.

Tigre Royal is always good! And I am really loving all these special once off printings. That makes this Tigre extra special!

Just a little Jungle Love ❤ View attachment 4939111

JL is perfection! (Especially in this plum and heather grey shade!)

Beautiful intro for for what will be a spectacular finish for 2020 SOTD!

Thank you kindly Croisette! :hugs:

Gloriously elegant Croisette!

 It was a good day!

It was a pic like this that sent me looking for this scarf! I almost got one....but it got away.... So glad you stopped in! :hugs:

Thank you lanit! I know they are both in the exceptional thread, but I haven't looked through it income time so I don't know if the names are there or not.

You made some stellar choices for 2020. The colors in that Giant Triangle are luscious! And who could dislike Tigre Royal???? It's always a winner!

Beautifully bright moma!

awww man- now y'all are going to make me go look at the video.... Love it!
Thank you, bunnycat!

Congratulations, Twin! It’s a gorgeous scarf design and cw. A beautiful gift. I purchased mine in January at Hermès on Broad St NYC (Wall St area). My DH gave me Savana Dance for Christmas last year. It means so much to me. I really adore my 70s. Here are a couple ofCC7FA12B-E3BA-4C86-A933-4CF9F9DE41B3.jpegA763B426-ACF7-4736-BEBC-A4E7A2BE827F.jpeg pics.

Merry Christmas and many blessings to all of my dear SOTD friends!
This Christmas has been like no other in recent memory as my family celebrations were much reduced, and even our Midnight Mass was televised. With so many events canceled like Christmas parties and get togethers, concerts, Christmas lights celebrations, even church events, my holiday scarf wearing was greatly edited.
But, even so, I still managed to wear a few such as red Noël. Here one from the archives

And, here’s an Advent favorite because of the purple CW and also a Christmas favorite because of the toyland theme: Zabavushka

This particular CW of Animaux Solaires makes it especially fitting for the Christmas holidays and the gold makes it very festive

You have showcased many gorgeous scarves for this theme, Fifi, but this may be your best holiday post this week. I just love all your selections here, esp. Zabavushka, which is a grail for me and on my ever-expanding wishlist. I looooove how you styled it and I am envious you can use your scarves with pins and brooches, in a safe way, of course. I am so terrified I'll pull threads, and if a brooch were sterling silver, that tarnish would stain the fabric. Your jewelry is such fun, too.

Thank you for the wonderful introduction to Oscarf week, Fifi. All of my Hermes scarves were acquired during 2020, so they are all in the running for an Oscarf Award.

I like colorful scarves with interesting designs, and I tend away from horse bit, military, colonial and hunting themes. However, I have been inspired by many of you to look at vintage designs as well as neutral colors, and that leads me to my first Oscarf Award of the week.

Yesterday's scarf mail brought me a scarf from 1948 by Hugo Grygkar, which makes it my oldest scarf, as well as being older than me. Chevaux de Cirque celebrates the horse as a circus performer. I love the large ostrich plumes and I can almost hear how the bells jingle in rhythm as they trot around the ring.

My Most Vintage Award goes to Chevaux de Cirque.

Ooh yours looks lovely too! Yes it is a gorgeous scarf, and I want to clarify that although DH thinks these scarves are frivolous, he buys them for me as he knows I love them. And he always puts a lot of thought in to it too. Buying colours that he thinks go well with my colouring. And to be honest, colours I wouldn't buy myself, but actually love once I try them.
