My very best wishes to everyone for the New Year to all SOTD regulars, occasional posters and newcomers alike  .

The SOTD 2021 thread is now open and ready for business:

The new theme commences tomorrow (3 Jan - whenever your time zone gets there) but there's no reason why you can't post earlier if you want.

I think we need to include the Horsawards ( or Horscars as I think it was called for a nanosecond upon issue ) for this week's theme, even though I didn't buy it this year. I cannot say enough how much I love the colour of this scarf. Anyway, just popping it on because of the awards connection.

I love this color on you, and I’m so happy to see your smiling face!
Thank you, my dear... and, I do hope that you share more than 6, as there are many more beauties that have entered your collection this year!
:giggle: :giggle: :giggle:
This has proven to be a very useful exercise, reviewing the year's purchases. I have bought 12 scarves for myself, shown below, as well as a personalised Trésor de Medor for a dear friend and the pink/cream cw of the Jardins de Soie CSGM for my mum, which I don't have photos of.
My husband jokes that I probably even out at one scarf purchase a month and this year he hasn't been wrong! I've added three 70s, one giant triangle, two vintage 90s, three 90s and three CSGMs ( the sky blue Couvertures being a surprise Christmas gift from DH ).
My favourite? It's a close run between my two de Porets, I think.
They‘re all beautiful ❤, but I’ll confess your Porets are my favorites!

Gorgeous!
That is very interesting information. Google came through for me this time. Here is a link with pictures of some of the jewelry Hardy designed for Hermes for anyone else who is interested. Spectacular pieces.

ooooo - thank you for sharing, truly some eye candy!

A classic that is especially lovely in this cool CW
Pin and scarf together are splendid, Croisette!
Goodness, these are all lovely, but nothing surpasses your kindness in playing the piano for your mother’s home. ❤❤❤

Such a beautiful scarf, I just adore the last photo with the green sweater - a perfect combo!

A gorgeously icy bleu! ❤

 Thanks sweetie! ❤

What a ray of sunshine! And I see you ar3 coordinating mask and iPhone color!
Thank you all so much, fifi, Agrume, Cookie and scarf!

Welcome to SOTD... So happy to have you join us! Parures de Samourais is probably my favorite Hermès design of all time and your CWs are fabulous... Your knots are fantastic as well... I would love to know how you accomplished the second one. So looking forward to your contributions this week and coming year!

Thanks for your kind words, dear Fifi
As you know very well, the design of PdS is truely marvelous, I think it's one of the Hermes's masterpiece!
I referred to this YouTube tutorial when making my knot. Let me give you the URL address.

The knot I made is the fourth style in this video. It's in Korean, but you can understand it without subtitles. Hope you enjoy it!

27 Dec 2020 The Oscarf: Best 90, Best CSGM and other Oscarf-worthy categories (copyright Cookiefiend!)

Happy last Sunday of 2020, my dear scarfie friends! It seems as if it was yesterday that we began our yearly silk adventures here on SOTD, and here we are wrapping up the year... And, what a journey it’s been! We are all, no doubt, ready to say goodbye to a most challenging year and poised to welcome a new one full of hope and possibilities.

I think that we all agree that 2020 was a year that will live in infamy, except where our silks are concerned, for we have witnessed a marvelous array of scarves here every single week. At moments where we have been sad, anxious and troubled by world events, our little SOTD corner of the world has been a spot of beauty, comfort and joy.

And, now, we get ready take stock of all of the wonderful scarves that have entered our collection this year and to, once again, hold our very own Oscarf Awards ceremony! For, where Hollywood has the Oscar, Scarflandia has the Oscarf, courtesy of our dear Cookie.

This was a very interesting year for me as I purchased my first mousseline scarves and fell in love with this format, adding a total of five to my collection. So, I will begin by giving my Mousseline of the Year award to my very first moussie and the one that remains my favorite: Offrandes d’un Jour
View attachment 4938899

I also obtained my first Giant Triangle this year, so the First GT Oscarf goes to Kachinas.
View attachment 4938901

But, where I went seriously bonkers this year was with CSGMs, adding a grand total of fifteen to my stash. As I live in a tropical climate, I can safely say that I’m pretty much done and satisfied with my shawl collection. I obtained so many treasures that it’s hard to pick a favorite, therefore I will present my Best Five CSGMs during the course of the week, beginning with La Femme aux Semelles de Vent.
View attachment 4938900

And, the Best Giant Silk of 2020 award goes to Carnaval des Oiseaux
View attachment 4938902

As every year, I purchased scarves from Hermès’ new collections. The Oscarf for Best Scarf of the Spring/Summer 2020 collection goes to the fabulous C’est la Fête, which I was lucky to find in two CWs.
View attachment 4938904
View attachment 4938903

And, the winner of Best Scarf of the Fall/Winter 2020 collection is La Legende de la Foret.
View attachment 4938905

As every year, a variety of silks from past seasons entered my life. Some were long-time Grails for me. But, if I must choose my Grail of the Year, the award must go to Ex Libris en Kimonos in this exquisite CW.

I have been looking forward to this final week on SOTD, as a recount of all of my new scarves has been fun, enlightening and eye-opening. This year has been a momentous one for me, as I acquired a total of sixteen 90s, fifteen CSGMs, five mousselines, three giant silks and one giant triangle. I am looking forward to posting some of them this week. And, I can’t wait to see the parade of treasures that will be shared by all as we wrap up one scarf-loving year and get ready to begin another one full of silk dreams and expectations.

What a wonderful arrangements! I always admire your fabulous works and collections  They are all beautiful! I especially love the Mousseline scarf:smile:

Today I’m traveling to Greece - I’ve never been there but hope to some day. I’ll visit the Acropolis and the Parthenon, and then head to Mykonos.
I haven’t had much time to pack though, but I am most definitely bringing a scarf associated with a legend that spans back to Ancient Greece, (or Egypt depending on which site you look at) Mythiques Phoenix.

It was a pic like this that sent me looking for this scarf! I almost got one....but it got away.... So glad you stopped in! :hugs:

Wow, a merry merry congrats to these exquisite gifts bunny! Never seen any of these. I hope you find out the names. Wear them in the best of health!

Thank you lanit! I know they are both in the exceptional thread, but I haven't looked through it income time so I don't know if the names are there or not.

You made some stellar choices for 2020. The colors in that Giant Triangle are luscious! And who could dislike Tigre Royal???? It's always a winner!

Welcome to Scarflandia! You are going to be right at home here with those beauties!

Somehow got too busy to post this last week. Here are my 3 holiday scarves that I have been wearing frequently this month.

1 neige d’antan which I featured early last week
2. au coeur de la vie (2007) - not Xmas theme, but very christmassy red and green combo.
3. Noel au Faubourg C0C61F5F-7D8C-446F-BD14-FD33FA2C341A.jpeg

and actual SOTD and my favorite new CSGM from 2020 ( ok it was also my only CSGM this year). Patchwork Horse. This colorway with blues, greens and purple matches or goes with almost everything in my closet. not sure why it doesnt seem very popular( has been on USA h.com most of the year). It ties beautifully. Here worn with a new cashmere cardigan.
