Agrume, same here. My scarves fly under the radar with all but two of my colleagues. (One of them commented on the expense of the scarves, so I actually try not to wear too many around her. :sad: It is my goal to keep it that way as it is not cosmopolitan here and because of my job.) And I am less precious about my scarves than I used to be, but not enough that I would want to break a sweat in them!

I am very guarded about my scarves, I never say they are H (except my husband’s aunt and my one aunt and cousin know I buy H scarves); when the few people ask about them, I just say I bought it on eBay and leave it at that. NO ONE but my husband knows about my relationship with tPF and its SOTD thread. I don’t want people making assumptions about my finances or make value judgments about spending. One relative had gratuitous, unsolicited things to say about my ballet-going. Also advised she looked me up, knew my salary because I was a public servant (retired now). No, I don’t want anyone trolling me. My scarves are my personal joy and it is my business and no one else’s! (Stomps foot!)
