Anthropomorphism is when we ascribe human characteristics to something non-human. So we find lots of fantastical talking animals or animals in human clothes or behaving like humans in H scarves.
Teddies in Confidents des Coeurs
Fairy Tales, horsehead "man" in Confessions, and scenes from Aesop's fables in Central Park.
Clovis in English and French, and a kingly lion and majestical duck in a couple of cute gavs.
Archetypes and personifications are a literary shortform when a single image represents a wealth of meanings and associations. H is very good at this when it comes to their own products and reputation.
Silk, parfum, leather goods and watches rendered into fantastical people in a set of sweet gavs.
And of course Super H, which not only is a symbol of H, but also in its multiple iterations indulges in a technique which I admire (yes, I'm a nerd) - Universe-Building. Not on the same level as Tolkien and Asimov, but hey, DR got me to buy 3 scarves which cost me more than my entire set of MiddleEarth tomes.

Once a
, always a I wanted to do my dissertation on sci-fi, but there wasn't anything on it in the list of offered topics, so fantasy was the next best thing. Have to admit the preachy tone of MacDonald's writing drove me crazy. The next dissertation I wrote was on the "Care and Preservation of Quarter-inch Audio Tape in Tropical Climes", so that was quite a mindset change (as well as a good reason to buy scarves like "Last Night"!)

Is that a rather crabby looking teddy in your top scarf? I would love a Confident des Coeurs in medium soft green with a crabby teddy.
To be honest, the teddies in Confidents aren't going to win Miss Congeniality. Most of them look grim. I'd like to get one of the blue cws. This cw I bought more because brown teddies is a lifelike cw.

The golden pieces are ornaments on the bridles, and thus a part of the design. Handy when you don't have gold pieces of your own!
